Silica coated multi-wall carbon nanotubes(mWCNTs),silica@mWCNTs and nanocomposites were synthesized by a sol-gel *** using the synthesized nanocomposites and also CNTs as templates,silica nanotubes(silica-NTs) were *** optical properties of fabricated nanocomposites and nanotubes were characterized by back-scattering micro Raman,UV/Vis/NIR and FT-IR spectra,which show the presence of CNTs structure in the ***/Vis/NIR and FT-IR spectra also show the presence of silica *** recorded spectra from UV/Vis/NIR and FT-IR also confirm the presence of silica compounds in the *** results of FE-SEm imaging data indicate that the synthesized samples are mWCNTs coated uniformly by silica molecules,which act as the template to synthesize silica-NTs.

The petroliferous province of the Western Desert comprises several sedimentary basins with different hydrocarbon potentiality and production *** middle Jurassic Khatatba Formation was proved a potential source rock in some basins and active/effective in *** current study aims to give a comprehensive assessment and evaluation of the potential organic-rich intervals of the Khatatba Formation across JG and JD fields,northeast Abu Gharadig Basin(NEAG).The hydrocarbon generating capability and sourcing of the Khatatba Formation studied through organic geochemistry calibrated with well ***,the efficiency of some widely used plots of geochemistry is re-evaluated according to their accuracy and *** cuttings,thirteen cores and two oil samples obtained from three wells(JG-2,JG-3 and JD-4)were *** samples revealed total organic carbon(TOC)values ranging from 1 to 9 wt%,exhibiting a good-excellent potential source rock.A single sample in the JD-4 well attained a TOC value of 21.3 wt%with a generating potential(represented by S2 parameter)exceeding 146 mgHc/g rock required a special *** of the samples(mainly in the JD-4 well)attained a sufficient level of thermal maturity for hydrocarbon generation with a Tmax up to 449*** vitrinite reflectance(%Ro)values(a common maturity-related indicator)acquired from the JD-4 well ranging between 0.76%and 0.92%.These values are tediously increasing with depth indicating a uniform geothermal *** Khatatba organofacies,with wide variety of kerogen types(I,II,II-S and II/III),contain marine organic matter with a slight terrigenous input,exhibiting anoxic-suboxic environmental ***-source correlations define the organic-rich intervals responsible for charging the accumulated hydrocarbon in the NEAG concession.

Chronological age estimation using panoramic dental X-ray images is an essential task in forensic *** statistical approaches have proposed by considering the teeth and ***,building automated dental age estimation based on machine learning techniques needs more research *** this paper,an automated dental age estimation is proposed using transfer *** the proposed approach,features are extracted using two deep neural networks namely,AlexNet and *** classifiers are proposed to perform the classification task including decision tree,k-nearest neighbor,linear discriminant,and support vector *** proposed approach is evaluated using a number of suitable performance metrics using a dataset that contains 1429 dental X-ray *** obtained results show that the proposed approach has a promising performance.

A non-solvent induced phase separation(NIPS)process was used to fabricate a series of sulfonated polyethersulfone(SPES)membranes blending with different concentrations of SBA-15-g-PSPA with the applications in the ultrafiltration(UF)***-15 was modified with 3-methacrylate-propyltrime thoxysilane(mPS)to form *** was further modified with the charge tailorable polymer chains by reacting with 3-sulfopropyl methacrylate potassium *** nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed and finger-like channels were developed within the *** adding of surface modified SBA-15-g-PSPA nanoparticles has significantly improved membrane water permeability,hydrophilicity,and antifouling *** pure water fluxes of the composite SPES membranes were significantly higher than the pristine SPES *** the membrane containing 5%(mass)of SBA-15-g-PSPA(mSSPA5),the pure water flux was increased dramatically to 402.15 Lm^(-2)·h^(-1),which is ~1.5 times that of mSSPA0(268.0 Lm^(-2)·h^(-1)).The high flux rate was achieved with 3%(mass)of SBA-15 nanoparticles with retained high rejection ratio 98%for natural organic *** results indicate that the fashioned composite membrane comprising SBA-15-g-PSPA nanoparticles have a promising future in ultrafiltration applications.

microbial-induced calcium carbonate precipitation is a promising technology for self-healing concrete due to its capability to seal *** main goal of this study was to evaluate the effects of adding hydrogelencapsulated bacteria on the compressive strength and the self-healing efficiency of *** achieve this objective,12 sets of mortar samples were prepared,including three different mineral precursors(magnesium acetate,calcium lactate,and sodium lactate),at two concentrations(67.76 and 75.00 mm/L),and under two different biological conditions(with and without bacteria).In addition,a set of plain mortar samples was prepared to serve as a *** each sample set,three mortar cubes and three beams were prepared and subjected to compression and flexural strength *** the compression tests,it was found that the sample containing calcium lactate along with yeast extract and bacteria displayed the best *** for the flexural tests,once cracked,the beams were subjected to 28 d of wet/dry cycles(16 h of water immersion and 8 h of drying),where the bottom crack width was monitored(at 0,3,7,14,28 d of wet/dry cycles).Once the sample with the highest healing efficiency was identified(the one containing calcium lactate and hydrogel-encapsulated bacteria),the study was scaled up to concrete *** sets of concrete cylinders(consisting of three control samples and three samples with bacteria along with calcium lactate)were tested under compression in order to evaluate the effect of the bacteria-precursor combination on the concrete mechanical *** samples that yielded the greatest compressive strength were the ones containing calcium lactate and bacteria,displaying an improvement of 17%as compared to the control ***,a flexural strength recovery analysis was performed on the concrete specimens revealing that the control showed better flexural strength recovery than the bacteriacontaining variant(41.5%vs.26.1%)after

Boron and Zinc Transport Through Intact Columns of Calcareous Soils

Leaching of boron （B） and zinc （Zn） can be significant in some pedomorphic conditions, which can cause contamination of shallow groundwater and economic losses. Boron and Zn adsorption and transport was studied using 8.4 cm diameter × 28 cm long intact columns from two calcareous soil series with differing clay contents and vadose zone structures： Lyallpur soil series, clay loam （fine-silty, mixed, hyperthermic Ustalfic Haplargid）, and Sultanpur soil series, sandy loam （coarse-silty, mixed, hyperthermic Ustollic Camborthid）. The adsorption isotherms were developed by equilibrating soil with 0.01 tool L^-1 CaCl2 aqueous solution containing varying amounts of B and Zn and were fitted to the Langmuir equation. The B and Zn breakthrough curves were fitted to the two-domain convective-dispersive equation. At the end of the leaching experiment, 0.11 L 10 g L^-1 blue dye solution was also applied to each column to mark the flow paths. The Lyallpur soil columns had a slightly greater adsorption partition coefficient both for B and Zn than the Sultanpur soil columns. In the Lyallpur soil columns, B arrival was immediate but the peak concentration ratio （the concentration in solution at equilibrium/concentration applied） was lower than that in the Sultanpur soil columns. The breakthrough of B in the Sultanpur soil columns occurred after about 10 cm of cumulative drainage in both the columns; the rise in effluent concentration was fast and the peak concentration ratio was almost 1. Zinc leaching through the soil columns was very limited as only one column from the Lyallpur soil series showed Zn breakthrough in the effluent where the peak concentration ratio was only 0.05. This study demonstrates the effect of soil structure on B transport and has implications for the nutrient management in field soils.

There is a growing recognition that highway construction and maintenance have major environmental *** the lack of a clear protocol for designing and constructing an environmentally-friendly highway,the industry experimented with sustainable alternatives since the *** an ultimate goal to develop sustainable guidelines for highway construction practices,this paper presents a general framework for the design and construction of sustainable flexible pavement *** framework follows a similar approach to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED®)methodology by employing a point system to award a rating that quantifies the sustainability of the *** proposed framework divides factors related to highway design and construction into six major categories:sustainable sites(eight points),energy efficiency(five points),site air quality(four points),materials(ten points),water efficiency(four points),and innovative and design process(three points).The developed rating framework,referred to as Sustainable Design of Flexible Pavements(SDFlex),may be used to award a certification for sustainable highway design and *** levels of certification may be awarded depending on the total earned credits from the six categories(Platinum,Gold,Silver,and Certified).A maximum score of 34 may be achieved under the aforementioned *** is proposed that a highway construction that satisfies the prerequisites and achieves a passing score of 10 be awarded a certified *** developed framework takes into consideration available technologies and the nature of the highway industry.

In the steam thermal cracking of naphtha,the hydrocarbon stream flows inside tubular reactors and is exposed to flames of a series of burners in the *** this paper,a full three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics(CFD)model was developed to investigate the process variables in the firebox and reactor coil of an industrial naphtha *** comprehensive CFD model consists of a standard k-εturbulence model accompanied by a molecular kinetic reaction for cracking,detailed combustion model,and radiative *** order to improve the steam cracking performance,the model is solved using a proposed iterative *** respect to temperature,product yield and specially propylene-toethylene ratio(P/E),the simulation results agreed well with industrial data obtained from a mega olefin plant of a petrochemical *** deviation of P/E results from industrial data was less than 2%.The obtained velocity,temperature,and concentration profiles were used to investigate the residence time,coking rate,coke concentration,and some other *** coke concentration at coil exit was1.9×10^(-3)%(mass)and the residence time is calculated to be 0.29 *** results can be used as a scientific guide for process engineers.
