This contribution presents a.novel wea. dependent virtua. flow ra.e sensor for single sta.e single lobe progressing ca.ity pumps. We study the wea.-induced ma.eria. loss of the pump components a.d the impa.t of this ma.eria. loss on the volumetric efficiency. The results a.e combined with a. esta.lished ba.kflow model to implement a.ba.kflow ca.cula.ion procedure tha. is a.a.tive to wea.. We use a.la.ora.ory test setup with a.highly a.ra.ive fluid a.d opera.e a.pump from new to worn condition to va.ida.e our a.proa.h. The obta.ned mea.urement da.a.show tha. the presented virtua. sensor is ca.a.le of ca.cula.ing the flow ra.e of a.pump being subject to wea. during its regula. opera.ion.

The mecha.isms governing pla.tic flow a.e influenced by both gra.n size a.d tempera.ure. a. 4K a.d 78K, domina.t deforma.ion modes in mg involve disloca.ion glide a.d extension twinning, rega.dless of gra.n size. The intera.tions between ba.a. a.d non-ba.a. disloca.ions a.d disloca.ions with gra.n bounda.ies promote a. unusua.ly high ra.e of work ha.dening in the pla.tic regime, lea.ing to prema.ure fa.lure. The yield stress follows the Ha.l-Petch rela.ionship σy~ k/√d, with the slope k increa.ing with decrea.ing tempera.ure. a. 298K, in a.dition to disloca.ion glide a.d twinning, gra.n bounda.y sliding(GBS) becomes significa.t in sa.ples with gra.n sizes below 3 μm, considera.ly enha.cing the ma.eria.'s deforma.ility. GBS a.tiva.ion provides a. a.ditiona. recovery mecha.ism for disloca.ions a.cumula.ing a. gra.n bounda.ies, fa.ilita.ing their a.sorption during sliding a.d rota.ion. a.a.ysis of σ Θ rela.ionship suggests tha. the ba.a. slip is the domina.t disloca.ion mode in mg a. 298K. Decrea.ing gra.n size suppresses disloca.ion a.tivity a.d twinning a.d increa.es GBS, resulting in lower Θ a.d σ Θ va.ues. Suppressing conventiona. deforma.ion modes coupled with enha.ced GBS yields stress softening, brea.ing down the Ha.l-Petch rela.ionship in mg below 3 μm gra.n size, lea.ing to a. inverse Ha.l-Petch beha.iour. The work reports new da.a.on the strength, ductility, work ha.dening a.d fra.ture beha.iour, a.d their va.ia.ions with mg gra.n size a.ross different tempera.ure regimes.

The wa.i da.a. delta.is in a.dry, a.id coa.ta. zone within Egypt’s south Sina. Peninsula.s ea.tern portion. The prima.y wa.er source is the Qua.erna.y coa.ta. a.luvia. a.uifer. The groundwa.er sa.inity va.ies from 890to 8213 mg/L, with a.mea. va.ue of 3417 mg/L. The dissolved ma.or ions ha.e been used to ca.cula.e the sea.a.er mixing index(SWmI) using a.linea. equa.ion tha. discrimina.es the groundwa.er mostly a.fected by wa.er–rock intera.tion(SWmI 1>) a.d other sa.ples mixed with Sea.a.er(SWmI mposition of groundwa.er for specifica.ly chosen groundwa.er sa.ples ra.ges from-0.645‰ to +5.212‰ for δ^(18)O a.d from-9.582‰ to + 22.778‰ for δ^(2)H, where the sea.a.er represented by a.Red Sea.wa.er sa.ple(δ^(18)O + 1.64‰-δ^(2)H + 9.80‰) a.d reject brine wa.er a.e considera.ly enriched the isotopic groundwa.er va.ues. The geochemica. NETPa.H model constra.ned by the dissolved significa.t ions, isotopes, a.d the rock a.uifer forming minera.s a. pha.es indica.e the mixing percent with the sea.a.er ra.ges from 9% to 97% of sea.a.er from 91% to 3% of origina. recha.ge wa.er. a.cording to the SEa.a. 3-D flow models, sea.a.er ha. penetra.ed the Northea.tern Da.a. delta.a.uifer, with the intrusion zone extending1500 m inla.d. The sa.t dissolution, upwelling of sa.ine wa.er, recha.ge from the upstrea. mounta.n block, a.d sea.a.er encroa.hment a.e the prima.y a.pects contributing to the deteriora.ion of groundwa.er qua.ity.
