Semi-analytical investigation of heat transfer in a porous convective radiative moving longitudinal fin exposed to magnetic field in the presence of a shape-dependent trihybrid nanofluid

The thermal examination of a non-integer-ordered mobile fin with a magnetism in the presence of a trihybrid nanofluid(Fe_3O_4-Au-Zn-blood) is carried out. Three types of nanoparticles, each having a different shape, are considered. These shapes include spherical(Fe_3O_4), cylindrical(Au), and platelet(Zn) configurations. The combination approach is utilized to evaluate the physical and thermal characteristics of the trihybrid and hybrid nanofluids, excluding the thermal conductivity and dynamic viscosity. These two properties are inferred by means of the interpolation method based on the volume fraction of nanoparticles. The governing equation is transformed into a dimensionless form, and the Adomian decomposition Sumudu transform method(ADSTm) is adopted to solve the conundrum of a moving fin immersed in a trihybrid nanofluid. The obtained results agree well with those numerical simulation results, indicating that this research is reliable. The influence of diverse factors on the thermal overview for varying noninteger values of γ is analyzed and presented in graphical representations. Furthermore, the fluctuations in the heat transfer concerning the pertinent parameters are studied. The results show that the heat flux in the presence of the combination of spherical, cylindrical, and platelet nanoparticles is higher than that in the presence of the combination of only spherical and cylindrical nanoparticles. The temperature at the fin tip increases by 0.705 759% when the value of the Peclet number increases by 400%, while decreases by 11.825 13% when the value of the Hartman number increases by 400%.

Delimitation of the Paranapanema Proterozoic block： A geophysical contribution

This study focuses on the basement structure of the Paraná basin in South America, based on geological and geophysical data. It is a large intracratonic basin formed from the late Ordovician until the cretaceous,when a sequence of continentalflood basalts eruptions covered the entire basin, preceding the break-up of Western Gondwana. Isostatic modeling was applied to large gravity surveys comprising more than 12,000 gravity stations. The residual bouguer anomaly pattern,representing the crustal contribution of the crystalline basement, as well as the sedimentary and volcanic layers of the basin, reveals similarities between the basement gravity signature and the exposed rock. The stress patterns of the late Ordovician and cretaceous tectonic events present a geographically coincident maximum,and the correlation between gravity highs and the main attenuation (beta factor) suggests the presence of some preexistent suture zones. The resultant mosaic of gravity blocks and the location of major faults give support to the presence of an important Proterozoic cratonic feature, here referred to as Paranapanema block.

A moving trapezoidal profiled convective-radiative porous longitudinal fin wetted in a single-phase fluid is considered in the current *** periodic variation in the fin base temperature is taken into account along with the temperature sensitive thermal conductivity and convective heat transfer *** modeled problem,which is resolved into a non-linear partial differential equation(PDE),is made dimensionless and solved by employing the finite difference method(FDm).The results are displayed through graphs and *** effects of amplitude,frequency of oscillation,wet nature,Peclet number,and other relevant quantities on the distribution of temperature through the fin length and with the dimensionless time are *** is deciphered that the periodic heat transfer gives rise to the wavy nature of the fin thermal profile against *** analysis is beneficial in the design of fin structures for applications like solar collectors,space/airborne applications,and refrigeration industries.

Delayed Ionization and Delayed Detachment in molecules and clusters

The evolution of a molecular system excited above its ionization threshold depends on a number of parameters that include the nature of the excited states and their couplings to the various continua. The general nature of the processes governing this evolution depends also essentially on the complexity of the molecule, more precisely on its size, density of states, and strength of the couplings among the various internal degrees of freedom. In this paper we address the question of the transition between autoionization that prevails in small molecules, and delayed ionization occurring in larger molecules or clusters. This transition is illustrated by autoionization of Na2 Rydberg states on one hand, delayed ionization in fullerene c60, and delayed detachment in small cluster anions on the other hand. All processes are studied in the case of nanosecond laser excitation, corresponding to a rather slow deposition of the internal energy.

chemical forms and extractability of iron in sediments of three contrasting lakes of china and UK

Iron is a limiting factor for the eutrophication of lakes, especially those lakes that are enriched with phosphorus. Extractability of iron in sediments of West lake and Taihu lake in china and lower lough Erne in Northern Ireland of UK was comparatively investigated on the basis of analysing chemical forms of iron using different extractants. It was shown that extractable iron in sediments of the lakes was greatly different using various extractants. Reactive iron or easily released iron such as “active" iron oxides, total free iron oxide and water-soluble iron was not high, only accounting for 0.01%—0.15% of total iron. The efficiency of the extractants for exchangeable iron was decreased in the sequence 0.1 mol/l Hcl DTPA+TEA mixed solution > 1 mol/l NH 4OAc > 0.5 mol/l mgcl 2 = 0.5 mol/l cacl 2. It seems that the complexion of iron by organic matter was not strong because the concentration of organically bound iron was significantly lower than the concentration it was forecasted. Extractable iron is not entirely consistent with or dependent on total iron in lake sediments. To a certain extent, phosphate can inhibit the release of iron in sediments of the lakes. The selection of extractants is thus the first key step to evaluate bioavailability of iron in lake sediments.

Effect of combined Use of brackish Water and Nitrogen Fertilizer on biomass and Sugar Yield of Sweet Sorghum

Soil salinization and non-point source pollution are among the most important and widespread environmental problems in European mediterranean regions. Sweet sorghum （Sorghum bicolor （l.） moench var. saccharatum） is a moderate to high salinity tolerant crop with low water and nutrient needs, seen as an alternative to grow in the water scarce regions. A three-year multifactorial study was conducted in southern Portugal to evaluate the combined effects of saline water and nitrogen application on the dry biomass （total, stems, and leaves）, sugar content （total reducing sugars and sucrose eontents） and sugar yield （here defined as the product of total reducing sugars and stems dry biomass） functions of sweet sorghum. Sorghum dry biomass and sugar yield showed diminishing returns for each incremental change of nitrogen. The use of saline irrigation waters also led to yield reduction. Exception was sucrose content which increased with increasing levels of sodium in the soil. Nitrogen need decreased as the amount of sodium applied increased. Stem dry biomass, sucrose content, and sugar yield progressively increased with progress in the experiment. The effect could be attributed to the increase of the amount of irrigation applied throughout the years, thus increasing the leaching fraction which promoted salt leaching from the root zone, reduced the salinity stress, increased plant transpiration, nitrogen uptake and biomass yield.

The c–V and G/ω–V Electrical characteristics of ^(60)co γ-Ray Irradiated Al/Si_(3)N_(4)/p-Si (mIS) Structures

The influence of ^(60)co(γ-ray)irradiation on the electrical characteristics of Al/Si_(3)N_(4)/p-Si(mIS)structures is investigated using capacitance-voltage(c–V)and conductance-voltage(G/ω–V)*** mIS structures are exposed to a ^(60)coγradiation source at a dose of 0.7 kGy/h,with a total dose range of 0–100 *** c–V and G/ω–V properties are measured before and after ^(60)coγ-ray irradiation at 500 kHz and room *** is found that the capacitance and conductance values decrease with the increase in the total dose due to the irradiation-induced defects at the *** results also indicate thatγradiation causes an increase in the barrier height Фb,Fermi energy EF and depletion layer width W_(D).The interface state density(N_(ss)),using the Hill–coleman method and dependent on radiation dose,is determined from the c–V and G/ω–V measurements and decreases with an increase in the radiation *** decrease in the interface states can be attributed to the decrease in the recombination centers and the passivation of the Si surface due to the deposition insulator layer(Si_(3)N_(4)).In addition,it is clear that the acceptor concentration NA decreases with increasing radiation *** profile of series resistance Rs for various radiation doses is obtained from forward and reverse-biased c–V and G/ω–V measurements,and its values decrease with increasing radiation dose,while it increases with increasing voltage in the accumulation region.

Heavy fermions in high magnetic fields

Heavy fermion materials are prototypical strongly correlated electron systems, where the strong electron–electron interactions lead to a wide range of novel phenomena and emergent phases of matter. Due to the low energy scales, the relative strengths of the Ruderman–Kittel–Kasuya–Yosida(RKKY) and Kondo interactions can often be readily tuned by non-thermal control parameters such as pressure, doping, or applied magnetic fields, which can give rise to quantum criticality and unconventional superconductivity. Here we provide a brief overview of research into heavy fermion materials in high magnetic fields, focussing on three main areas. Firstly we review the use of magnetic fields as a tuning parameter,and in particular the ability to realize different varieties of quantum critical behaviors. We then discuss the properties of heavy fermion superconductors in magnetic fields, where experiments in applied fields can reveal the nature of the order parameter, and induce new novel phenomena. Finally we report recent studies of topological Kondo systems, including topological Kondo insulators and Kondo–Weyl semimetals. Here experiments in magnetic fields can be used to probe the topologically non-trivial Fermi surface, as well as related field-induced phenomena such as the chiral anomaly and topological Hall effect.

Achieving ultrahigh strength and ductility in high-entropy alloys via dual precipitation

The strength-ductility trade-offhas been a longstanding dilemma in metallic *** we report an innovative approach to achieve a high strength-ductility synergy via dual precipitation of sheared and bypassed precipitates.(Ni_(2) co_(2) Fecr)_(96-x) Al_(4) Nb_(x)(at.%)alloys strengthened by nanoscale l12 particles and laves precipitates were selected as a model for this study,and their precipitate microstructures and mechanical properties were thoroughly *** dual-precipitation-strengthened alloys exhibit a yield strength of more than 1400 mPa,an ultimate tensile strength of over 1800 mPa,and a uniform elon-gation of 18%,thus achieving a high strength-ductility *** analysis reveals that the nanoscale l1_(2) precipitates contribute to the strength via the particle shearing mechanism,whereas the laves phase provides the strengthening through the Orowan bypass *** study of deformation microstruc-tures shows that the l1_(2) precipitates are sheared by stacking faults,which facilitates long-range disloca-tion gliding through the *** a result,deformation induces the formation of hierarchical stacking fault networks and immobile lomer-cottrell locks,which effectively enhance the work hardening ca-pability and plastic stability,thereby resulting in a high ductility at high strength *** are piled-up against the interface between the laves precipitates and matrix,which increases the work hardening capability at the early stages of plastic deformation but causes stress *** dual precipitation strategy may be useful for many other alloys for achieving superior mechanical properties for technological applications.
