The analysis of naturally occurring radionuclides （226ra, 232 Th and 40 K） and an anthropogenic radionuclide 13r Cs is carried out in some soil samples collected from Kohistan district of N.W.F.P. （Pakistan）, using gamma-ray spectrometry. The gamma spectrometry is operated using a high purity Germanium （HPGe） detector coupled with a computer based high resolution multi channel analyzer. The specific activity in soil ranges from 24.72 to ***-1 for 22Tra, 21.73 to ***- 1 for 232Th, 7.06 to *** 1 for 1arcs and 298.46 to ***-1 for 40K with the mean values of 42.11, 43.27, 9.5 and ***-1, respectively. The radium equivalent activity in all the soil samples is lower than the safe limit set in the OECD report （370 ***-1）. man-made radionuclide 13r Cs is also present in detectable amount in all sell samples. Presence of 13r Us indicates that the samples in this renlote area also recelvo some fallout from nuclear accident in Chernobyl power plant in 1986. The internal and external hazard indices have the mean values of 0.48 and 0.37 respectively. Absorbed dose rates and effective dose equivalents are also determined for the samples. The concentration of radionuclides found in the soil samples during the present study is nominal and does not pose any potential health hazard to the general public.

The wavelet approach is introduced to study the influence of the natural convection stagnation point flow of the Williamson fluid in the presence of thermophysical and Brownian motion effects. The thermal radiation effects are considered along a permeable stretching surface. The nonlinear problem is simulated numerically by using a novel algorithm based upon the Chebyshev wavelets. it is noticed that the velocity of the Williamson fluid increases for assisting flow cases while decreases for opposing flow cases when the unsteadiness and suction parameters increase, and the magnetic effect on the velocity increases for opposing flow cases while decreases for assisting flow cases. When the thermal radiation parameter, the Dufour number, and Williamson’s fluid parameter increase, the temperature increases for both assisting and opposing flow cases. meanwhile, the temperature decreases when the Prandtl number increases. The concentration decreases when the Soret parameter increases, while increases when the Schmidt number increases. it is perceived that the assisting force decreases more than the opposing force. The findings endorse the credibility of the proposed algorithm, and could be extended to other nonlinear problems with complex nature.

Striped hyena（Hyaena hyaena） is a near-threatened large carnivore known to occur in arid and semi-arid landscapes in many parts of the world. its population is declining globally and ecological information is required urgently to meet their conservation needs. We studied the diet pattern of the striped hyena in the semi-arid Gir National Park and Sanctuary（GNPS）, western india. Prey items eaten by the striped hyena were identified from scats. Around 44.4% scats represented single to three mammalian preys while 55.6% of them represented four preys to seven preys. A variety of food items were identified including mammals, birds, insects and vegetable matters. Scats analysis showed that 63.91% diet of striped hyena was contributed by wild prey items, 20.94% by domestic prey and 3.31% by birds, whereas vegetable and insects contributed 9.92% and 1.93%, respectively. Diet diversity of the striped hyena computed by the Shannon-Weiner index（H） was found to be 2.64. The presence of domestic mammals in the scat remains implied that the striped hyena might frequently visit human habitation in search for food and hence, a potential conflict between human and wildlife might arise. reducing the dependence of hyena on domestic livestock is a challenge to ensure the survival of striped hyena outside the protected area.

SBL-JP-0004: A promising dual inhibitor of JAK2 and Pi3KCD against gastric cancer

Background:Gastric cancer (GC) remains a global health burden and is often characterized by heterogeneous molecular profiles and resistance to conventional therapies. The phosphoinositide 3-kinase and Pi3K and Janus kinase (JAK) signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK-STAT) pathways play pivotal roles in GC progression, making them attractive targets for therapeutic interventions.methods:This study applied a computational and molecular dynamics simulation approach to identify and characterize SBL-JP-0004 as a potential dual inhibitor of JAK2 and Pi3KCD kinases. KATOiii and SNU-5 GC cells were used for evaluation.results:SBL-JP-0004 exhibited a robust binding affinity for JAK2 and Pi3KCD kinases, as evidenced by molecular docking scores and molecular dynamics simulations. Binding interactions and Gibbs binding free energy estimates confirmed stable and favorable interactions with target proteins. SBL-JP-0004 displayed an half-maximal inhibitory concentration (iC) value of 118.9 nm against JAK2 kinase and 200.9 nm against Pi3KCD enzymes. SBL-JP-0004 exhibited potent inhibition of cell proliferation in KATOiii and SNU-5 cells, with half-maximal growth inhibitory concentration (Gi) values of 250.8 and 516.3 nm, respectively. A significant elevation in the early phase apoptosis (28.53% in KATOiii cells and 26.85% in SNU-5 cells) and late phase apoptosis (17.37% in KATOiii cells and 10.05% in SNU-5 cells) were observed with SBL-JP-0004 treatment compared to 2.1% and 2.83% in their respective controls.Conclusion:The results highlight SBL-JP-0004 as a promising dual inhibitor targeting JAK2 and Pi3KCD kinases for treating GC and warrant further preclinical and clinical investigations to validate its utility in clinical settings.

Amorphous gallium selenide （a-GaSe） semiconductor nanoparticle thin films were deposited onto well cleaned glass substrates by inert gas condensation （iGC） technique under a vacuum of 400 x 10-6 Pa （3 x 10-6 Torr）. The films were characterized by different structural and optical techniques, including X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy （FESEm）, field emission transmission electron microscopy （FETEm）, UV-visible absorption spectroscopy and i-V measurements. The particle size and size distribution were determined by TEm images which show the presence of spherical particles in the range of 5-50 nm in size. SEm images indicate that the a-GaSe film grown on glass substrate is almost smooth and dense. The optical properties of a-GaSe nanoparticle thin films were determined by optical absorption spectra. The optical bandgap of the film was estimated to be 2.19 eV and the transitions are allowed direct type. The electrical conductivity of the deposited films has been studied as a function of temperature. in the higher temperature range the dominance of thermally activated band conduction was observed; whereas in the low temperature ranqe the hoppinQ conduction in the band tails of localized states was found to be dominated.

Spinal cord injury remains a major cause of disability in young adults,and beyond acute decompression and rehabilitation,there are no pharmacological treatments to limit the progression of injury and optimize recovery in this *** the thorough investigation of the complement system in triggering and propagating cerebral neuroinflammation,a similar role for complement in spinal neuroinflammation is a focus of ongoing *** this work,we survey the current literature investigating the role of complement in spinal cord injury including the sources of complement proteins,triggers of complement activation,and role of effector functions in the *** study relevant data demonstrating the different triggers of complement activation after spinal cord injury including direct binding to cellular debris,and or activation via antibody binding to damage-associated molecular *** effector functions of complement have been implicated in spinal cord injury,and we critically evaluate recent studies on the dual role of complement anaphylatoxins in spinal cord injury while emphasizing the lack of pathophysiological understanding of the role of opsonins in spinal cord *** this pathophysiological review,we systematically review the different translational approaches used in preclinical models of spinal cord injury and discuss the challenges for future translation into human *** review emphasizes the need for future studies to dissect the roles of different complement pathways in the pathology of spinal cord injury,to evaluate the phases of involvement of opsonins and anaphylatoxins,and to study the role of complement in white matter degeneration and regeneration using translational strategies to supplement genetic models.

On the detection of closed orbits in time-dependent systems by using double-pulse lasers

in the photodetachment of atoms or negative ions by a double-pulse laser, the first pulse of the double-pulse laser generates waves and the delayed second pulse may detect them. The phenomenon of the excitation and detection of waves by a double-pulse laser can be used to identify the closed orbits in the system. We demonstrate this phenomenon with a negative hydrogen ion(H^-) by analyzing the total population excited by a double-pulse laser in a timedependent field for different physical parameters. By analyzing the total excited population using a double-pulse laser, we can uncover all the closed orbits existing in the system. We demonstrate that this can be realized by scanning the first pulse position and the time delay between the two pulses.
