Background Natural and synthetic plant growth regulators are essential for plant health,likewise these regulators also play a role in increasing organic production productivity and improving quality and yield *** the present study,we have evaluated the effects of foliar applied plant growth regulators,i.e.,moringa leaf extract(mLE)and mepiquat chloride(mC)alone and in combination mC and mLE on the conventional cotton cultivar(CIm 573)and transgenic one(CIm 598).The growth regulators were applied at the start of bloom,45 and 90 days after *** The application of mC and mLE at 90 days after blooming significantly improved the relative growth rate,net assimilation rate,the number of bolls per plant,and seed cotton ***,the combined application of mLE and mC at 90 days after blooming significantly boosted the nitrogen uptake in locules,as well as the phosphorus and potassium uptake in the leaves of both cotton *** application of mLE alone has considerably improved the nitrogen uptake in leaves,and phosphorus and potassium contents in locules of Bt and conventional cotton ***,Bt cotton treated with mLE at 90 days after blooming produced significantly higher ginning out turn and oil *** in combination(mLE+mC)at 90 days after blooming produced considerably higher micronaire value,fiber strength,and staple length in conventional *** The natural growth enhancer,mLE is a rich source of minerals and zeatin,improving the nutrient absorption and quality of cotton fiber in both conventional and Bt cotton cultivars.

Helical Computed Tomography in Evaluation of Selected Cases of Acute Abdomen

Acute abdomen is a common presentation in emergency medicine. It represents 5% to 10% of all Emergency department (ed) visits. diagnosis by imaging includes digital X-ray unit, sonography (US) unit and computed tomography (CT) equipment. during the last years, a trend towards increased use of computed tomography in patients with acute abdomen can be seen. Additionally, patient with severe claustrophobic often cannot tolerate mR scanner. The aim of the present study was to investigate the possibility of optimizing Helical CT parameters in the protocol and emphasize the CT features of selected cases of disorders related acute abdominal complain at the Emergency department both in general and in a number of selected conditions (Urolithiasis, Aortic Aneurysm Rupture and acute cholecystitis). According to this work findings, non-contrast CT after ultrasound is diagnostic modality for patients with urinary stones in the Emergency department. Contrast-enhanced CT was highly sensitive for acute aortic syndrome and therefore the CT imaging protocols must be adjusted in order to minimize dose from radiation.

The Impact of a Structured Clinical Pathway on the Application of management Standards in Patients with diabetic Ketoacidosis and Its Acceptability by medical Residents

diabetic Ketoacidosis (dKA) is a serious and potentially a fatal complication of diabetes mellitus. Tools to guarantee proper, evidence-based, guideline implementation are of paramount importance and an essential element for quality patient care. Clinical pathways represent one such tool that clearly promotes the implementation of guidelines and research evidence into clinical practice. The aims of this study were to measure quantitatively and qualitatively the impact of a specially structured Resident-friendly, dKA clinical pathway on the application of evidence-based management standards and its acceptability by the treating resident physicians. A retrospective chart review of patients who were admitted prior to and after the launching of the clinical pathway and a questionnaire assessment of resident’s acceptance of the pathway format were undertaken. Eighty one episodes of dKA in a total of 58 patients fulfilled the criteria for inclusion in the study. Thirty seven admissions were on the pathway (45.7%) and 44 were not (54.3%). documentation of severity indices of patients who were admitted under the pathway were significantly improved with a trend for a shorter hospital stay. The duration of intravenous insulin therapy, intensive care unit consultation and diabetes educator involvement in patient care were not different between the two groups. Residents found the pathway user-friendly, educationally very valuable, reduced their workload and had a positive effect on their dKA management skills.?Conclusions: Use of specially structured, resident-friendly pathway led to significant improvement in documentation of dKA severity indices and empowered our residents with evidence-based knowledge and skills to deal with this serious diabetic complication.

Geologists interpret seismic data to understand subsurface properties and subsequently to locate underground hydrocarbon *** are among the most important geological features interpreters analyze to locate petroleum ***,manual channel picking is both time consuming and ***,similar to any other process dependent on human intervention,manual channel picking is error prone and *** address these issues,automatic channel detection is both necessary and important for efficient and accurate seismic *** systems make use of real-time image processing techniques for different *** channel detection is a combination of different mathematical methods in digital image processing that can identify streaks within the images called channels that are important to the oil *** this paper,we propose an innovative automatic channel detection algorithm based on machine learning *** new algorithm can identify channels in seismic data/images fully automatically and tremendously increases the efficiency and accuracy of the interpretation *** algorithm uses deep neural network to train the classifier with both the channel and non-channel *** provide a field data example to demonstrate the performance of the new *** training phase gave a maximum accuracy of 84.6%for the classifier and it performed even better in the testing phase,giving a maximum accuracy of 90%.

Using of GIS Spatial Analyses to Study the Selected Location for dam Reservoir on Wadi Al-Jirnaf, West of Shirqat Area, Iraq

The GIS data of digital elevation model, topographic maps of different scales, satellite images and GPS were used to analyze the geometrical relations, bathometric properties and shape form of selected depressions on Al-Jirnaf valley. GIS was used to analyze the hydromorphometry and geometry of the depressions, these analyses explain the role of main valley’s contribution to the hydrology of the valley, then, three locations for water storage were suggested. 2d and 3d models of the sites were given, the maximum level, volume, surface area, circumference, shape factor of three supposed reservoirs calculated for different hypothetical levels of water in the reservoir, and the optimal level were determined, the maximum suggested levels are 190, 185 and 180 m, the areas are 3.25, 7.97 and 20.47 km2, the volumes are 0.0096, 0.0334 and 0.1118 km3 for the three locations respectively. This experimental procedure can be repeated in other depressions for the same purpose.

Crystal Structure, Thermal Behaviour and Vibrational Spectra of Tetraethylammonium dihydrogenmonophosphate Bis Phosphoric Acid

Single crystals of the tetraethylammonium dihydrogenmonophosphate bis trihydrogenmonophosphate [CH3CH2]4N+(H2PO4)(H3PO4)2(TEP), were grown by slow evaporation solution technique at room temperature. The compound was characterised by IR, Raman, differential thermal analysis (TG-dTA) and single crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system (space group P21/c) with the following unit cell dimensions: a = 7.765 (2) , b = 16.531 (4) , c = 14.843 (2) , β = 100.99 (2)o, Z=4 , dX =1.67mg.m-3, dm=1.532mg-3, λ (moKa) = 0.71073 , u=0.384 mm-1, F(000)=991, T = 20 (2)o. The structure was solved by the direct method and refined to final R value of 0.0342 and Rw=0.107 for 3239 independent [(CH3CH2)4N]+ reflections. The structure consists of infinite parallel two-dimensional planes built of mutually , H3PO4 tetrahedra ?and cations connected by strong and hydrogen bonding. There are no contacts other than van der Waals interactions between the layers.

The acute abdomen is one of the most frequent causes for presentation to the emergency department. Imaging plays an important role for an accurate diagnosis, which in turn diminishes morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study was to demonstrate optimum CT aspects and emphasize on the important features of CT for those patients presenting with an acute abdominal pain at the Emergency department both in general and in a number of selected conditions (appendicitis, small-bowel obstruction, acute pancreatitis, and diverticulitis). The reported data by this study are based on the author working experience, which forms a continuous protocol adjustment process. The present study provides evidence that CT would result in definite diagnosis of patients with abdominal pain in terms of the detection of some urgent conditions.

In the production of compression springs,high forming velocities and grades of deformation during winding and setting may induce cracks that can lead to failure causing risks of an accident and *** AE(acoustic emission)technology,a non-destructive monitoring method,can detect acoustic signals reflected from *** establish this method in the production of technical springs,it was necessary,to find out whether the AE signal is influenced by material properties,phase fractions distribution from tempered martensite,retained austenite,and microstructure including crystallographic *** addition,it was investigated to what extent the detected AE signal can be useful to separate between an actual crack and other material *** an in-situ three-point bending test with the AE technology,macro-and micro-crack-typical AE signals were detected for five different spring steel wires(SH,VdSiCr,and FdSiCr according to EN-10270-1 and EN-10270-2).The relative energy related to the initiation,propagation,and growth of cracks caused by mechanical stress was measured using a piezoelectric *** a crack AE signal appeared for the first time,the bending tests were stopped *** results show that the frequency spectrum combined with the intensity of the acoustic signals generated during crack growth depends on the material properties and the crystallographic ***,it could be shown that it is possible to differentiate between micro-crack-typical AE signals and other signals that result from different material responses.

对16只活重30～32kg的羔羊(9～12月龄)进行为期12周的试验,以测定日粮中不同水平深栈肉鸡垃圾对羔羊生长性能的作用。深层堆栈是用1个月时间在8m3(2×2×2m3)的窖坑中制备的。用深栈肉鸡垃圾调制4种浓缩饲料日粮,添加量分别为0%,15%,30%,45%(分别称为日粮A,B,C,d),其他饲料原料为糖蜜,高梁,花生饼,小麦麸,花生壳,石粉和氯化钠。除深栈肉鸡垃圾添加比(Inclusionrate)增加较高(Pdmd),粗纤维消化率(CFd),灰分消化率(Ashd)3者在各种日粮间存在显著(Pdmd,CFd,Ashd高于B和d。因此,各日粮有机物消化率(Omd),粗蛋白消化率(CPd),乙醚提取物消化率(Eed)及钙、磷消化率无显著(P>0.05)差异。提高深栈肉鸡垃圾添加量能提高含氮物质的摄入量。然而,各种日粮间含氮物质的摄入量存在显著(Pd的瘤胃液PH值和氨基氮水平的测定值较高。日粮A和d的挥发性脂肪酸(VFA)富集水平高于B和C,但差异不显著(P>0.05)。每千克体增重的饲养成本随肉鸡垃圾添加比的提高而下降,但增至45%后又开始上升。由此得出:给羔羊分别供应深栈肉鸡垃圾添加比为的15%,30%和45%的浓缩料日粮,不会对其健康和繁殖产生有害作用,且试验表明深栈肉鸡垃圾是一种对羔羊健康无任何限制作用的安全饲料,甚至是一种丝毫不会降低日采食量而能显著提高生长率的廉价饲料。

Consumers hesitate to purchase field-grown shoot-tops of amaranths in Sri Lanka,citing the low-cleanliness making growers focus on greenhouse ***,the photosynthetic and growth variations in relation to the organoleptic preference of the greenhouse-grown amaranths in comparison to field-grown counterparts have not been ***,the species delimits of the amaranths in Sri Lanka have not been identified,limiting our ability to interpret species-specific production ***,we assessed the common types of amaranths under greenhouse and field *** photosynthesis was measured using a multispeQ device of the PhotosynQ phenomic platform,which records chlorophyll fluorescence-based *** shoot-tops were harvested and prepared as dishes according to the typical recipe for amaranths in Sri *** dishes were subjected to an organoleptic assessment for the parameters color,aroma,bitterness,texture,and overall *** differences in plant and the shoot-top biomass were also *** markers atpB-rbcL,matk-trnT,and ITS were used to define the species *** field-grown and greenhouse-grown amaranths exhibited species/cultivar-specific photosynthetic *** texture and overall taste of the dishes were different among greenhouse and field-grown *** tasters preferred the texture and the overall taste of the greenhouse-grown *** greenhouse-grown plants also yielded higher shoot-top harvests compared to field-grown *** of the tested markers,ITS defines the delimits of amaranth *** higher organoleptic preference,the appreciable yield levels,unique photosynthetic patterns of the greenhouse-grown amaranths,and species definitions provide the much-needed platform for clean shoot-top production guaranteeing the highest end-user trust.
