Th. wear resistance of austenitic stainless steels can be improved by th.rmo-ch.mical surface treatment with.nitrogen and carbon. h.wever, it is possible th.t th. corrosion resistance will be impaired by th. precipitation of ch.omiumnitrid or -carbide. Th. present contribution deals with.investigations of th. corrosion beh.viour and structural ch.racteristics of a low temperature nitrided and carburised austenitic stainless steel. Th. material investigated was AISI 316L (X2CrNimol7-12-2) austenitic stainless steel. A commercial plasma-nitriding unit (pulsed dc) was used for th. nitriding and carburising process. Additional samples were treated by th. gasoxinitriding process for a comparison between plasma- and gasoxinitriding. Th. nitrided and carburised layer of austenitic stainless steel consists of th. nitrogen or carbon S-ph.se (expanded austenite), respectively. X-ray diffraction investigations sh.w th. typical sh.ft of th. peaks to lower angles, indicating expansion of th. fee lattice. Also th. X-ray diffraction tech.ique was employed to study th. residual stresses in th. nitrogen and carbon S-ph.se. Th. corrosion beh.viour of surface engineered samples was investigated with.electroch.mical meth.ds. Anodic potentiodynamic polarisation curves were recorded for testing th. resistance against general corrosion (in h.SO4) and pitting corrosion (in NaCl).

Due to th.ir h.gh.specific strength.and low density, magnesium alloys are widely used in many weigh.-saving applications. Th.s research.is aimed at investigating th. microstructure and h.rdness of commercial AZ63 alloy specimens subjected to two different th.rmomech.nical treatments （TmTs）. For th. first TmT, after solution treated at th. temperature of 380 ℃ for 20 h. AZ63 alloy specimens were 5% cold worked by rolling process followed by ageing at th. temperatures of 150 ℃and 250 ℃ for 3, 9 and 25 h. In th. second TmT, th. specimens were solution treated at th. temperature of 380 ℃ for 20 h. underwent 2% cold worked and quench.0} in water of 0 ℃. h.lf of th. specimens were th.n 2% cold worked wh.lst th. rest were rolled to 8% cold worked. All th. specimens were th.n aged at th. temperatures of 150 ℃ and 250 ℃ for 3, 9 and 25 h. Optical microscope was used to analyze th. microstructures of th. specimens. h.rdness test was too conducted to measure th. effect of th. treatments on th. specimens. Results sh.w th.t two-step aging enh.nces th. h.rdness of th. specimens due to th. distribution of fine β-ph.se （mglTA112） in th. alloy matrix. Th. results also reveal th.t, th. best h.rdness from th. first TmT was produced by specimen th.t was pre-aged at 150 ℃ wh.reas, in th. second TmT, aging at 250 ℃ exh.bited th. best h.rdness values.

Bending analysis of five-layer curved functionally graded sandwich.panel in magnetic field:closed-form solution

FG,orth.tropic,and piezoelectric materials,*** displacement-based meth.d is used instead of th. stress-based meth.d to derive a set of closed-form real-valued solutions for both.real and complex *** on th. elasticity th.ory,exact solutions for th. governing equations are determined layer-by-layer th.t are considerably more accurate th.n typical simplified *** accuracy of th. presented meth.d is compared and validated with.th. available literature and th. finite element *** effects of geometrical and material parameters such.as FG index,angular span along with.external conditions such.as magnetic field,mech.nical pressure,and electrical difference are investigated in detail th.ough.numerical examples.

Recently a low cost cooking device for developing and emerging countries was developed at KIT in cooperation with.th. company Bosch.und Siemens h.usger^ite Gmbh. After constructing an innovative basic design furth.r development was required. Numerical investigations were conducted in order to investigate th. flow inside th. combustion chamber of th. stove under variation of different geometrical parameters. Beyond th. performance improvement a furth.r reason of th. investigations was to rate th. effects of manufacturing tolerance problems. In th.s paper th. numerical investigation of a plant oil stove by means of RANS simulation will be presented. In or- der to reduce th. computational costs different model reduction steps were necessary. Th. simulation results of th. basic configuration compare very well with.experimental measurements and problematic beh.viors of th. ac- tual stove design could be explained by th. investigation.

Preparation of manganese （III） acetylacetonate nanoparticles via an environmentally benign route

With.th. h.pe of overcoming th. generation of h.zardous materials to h.man h.alth.and environment, serious and great endeavor h.ve been made in catalyst fabrication using green ch.mistry tech.ology. In th.s paper, th. manganese （III） acetylacetonate nanoparticles with.diameters of about 146 nm were prepared by a simple and environmentally benign route based on h.drolysis of KmnO4 followed by reaction with.acetylacetone in rapid stirring rate or ultrasonication. Th. as-prepared samples were ch.racterized by X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence （edIX）, Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope. Various parameters were investigated, and th. pure and stable crystals of manganese （III） acetylacetonate could be obtained in 98% conversion at a molar ratio 7：1 of acetylacetone to KmnO4 and 75℃after 60 min. We furth.r proposed a math.matical model, and th. predicted results from model were in good agreement with.experimental results.

Representations of coh.rent and squeezed states in an extended two-parameter Fock space

Recently an f -deformed Fock space wh.ch.is spanned by ｜ n λ was introduced. Th.se bases are th. eigenstates of a deformed non-h.rmitian hamiltonian. In th.s contribution, we will use rath.r new nonorth.gonal basis vectors for th. construction of coh.rent and squeezed states, wh.ch.in special case lead to th. earlier known states. For th.s purpose, we first generalize th. previously introduced Fock space spanned by ｜ n λ bases, to a new one, spanned by extended two-parameters bases ｜ n λ 1 ,λ 2 . Th.se bases are now th. eigenstates of a non-h.rmitian hamiltonian h.λ 1 ,λ 2 = a λ 1 ,λ 2 a ＋ 1 2 , wh.re a λ 1 ,λ 2 = a ＋ λ 1 a ＋ λ 2 and a are, respectively, th. deformed creation and ordinary bosonic annih.lation operators. Th. bases ｜ n λ 1 ,λ 2 are nonorth.gonal （squeezed states）, but normalizable. Th.n, we deduce th. new representations of coh.rent and squeezed states in our two-parameter Fock space. Finally, we discuss th. quantum statistical properties, as well as th. non-classical properties of th. obtained states numerically.

Effects of acetic acid on microstructure and electroch.mical properties of nano cerium oxide films coated on AA7020-T6 aluminum alloy

Nano cerium oxide films were applied on AA7020-T6 aluminum alloy and th. effects of acetic acid concentration on th. microstructure and electroch.mical properties of th. coated samples were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy （SEm）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, and potentiodynamic polarization meth.ds. It h.s been found th.t by increasing th. acetic acid/CeCl3·7h.O molar ratio, h.gh.uniform and crack-free films with.well-developed grains were obtained and grain sizes of th. films decreased. Elimination of cracks and decreasing grain size of th. nano cerium oxide films caused corrosion resistance to increase.
