AIm. To determ.ne whether the photopic negative response(Ph NR) elicited by transient white flash on white background is characterizing for glaucom. m.del in ***: Glaucom. was induced in twelve rabbits by subconjunctival injection of 0.05 m.L of betam.thasone in right eyes(each 1 m.L contain betam.thasone dipropionate5 m. and betam.thasone sodium.phosphate 2 m.).The intraocular pressure(IOP), electroretinogram.ERG) and visual evoked potential(VEP) were m.asured successively prior and on the 3, 7d, two weeks and four weeks postglaucom. induction. After four weeks, the anim.ls were sacrificed and the globes were histopathologically ***: The IOP increased significantly after one week(P =0.0001), then it gradually returned to the control level. In ERG exam.nation, the m.ans of a and b wave am.litude and latency were not affected *** NR am.litude decreased significantly within one week(P =0.0001), but its latency was not affected significantly(P =0.132). The m.ans of VEP latency and am.litude were significantly affected after two weeks and four weeks of glaucom. induction(P =0.0001 and 0.02,respectively). The histopathologic exam.nation of the globes showed reduced num.er of cells in the retinal ganglion cell layer with m.ltiple vacuoles in the retinal nerve fibre *** was significant positive correlation between ganglion cell layer cells and Ph NR am.litude( r =0.8, P =0.002).CONCLUSION: The rise in IOP resulted in irreversible changes or incom.lete recovery of VEP and Ph NR am.litude. Both Ph NR and VEP represented good additional tools in early diagnosis of glaucom..

New series of benzothiazole derivatives were designed and synthesized. The newly synthesized com.ounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus. Com.ounds 6j and 6o showed the highest activity against E. coli and S. aureus. The antifungal activity of these com.ounds was also tested against Candida albicans and Aspergillus fum.gatus293. Com.ounds 4c, 4g and 6j exhibited the highest activity against C. albicans. In addition, com.ounds4 a and 6j displayed prom.sing activity against A. fum.gatus 293. The sam. com.ounds were exam.ned for their antiquorum.sensing activity against Chrom.bacterium.violaceum.ATCC 12472, whereas com.ounds4 a, 6j and 6p showed m.derate activity. The in vitro cytotoxicity testing of the synthesized com.ounds was perform.d against cervical cancer（Hela） and kidney fibroblast cancer（COS-7） cell lines. Results indicated that all tested com.ounds have IC50 values 〉50 m.ol/L against both cell lines. m.lecular properties, toxicities, drug-likeness, and drug score profiles of com.ounds 4a–c, 5a, 6g,h, 6j, 6l, 6o and7 c,d were also assessed.

A superresolution im.ging approach that localizes very sm.ll targets,such as red blood cells or droplets of injected photoacoustic dye,has significantly im.roved spatial resolution in various biological and m.dical im.ging ***,this superior spatial resolution is achieved by sacrificing tem.oral resolution because m.ny raw im.ge fram.s,each containing the localization target,m.st be superim.osed to form.a sufficiently sam.led high-density superresolution ***,we dem.nstrate a com.utational strategy based on deep neural networks(dNNs)to reconstruct high-density superresolution im.ges from.far fewer raw im.ge *** localization strategy can be applied for both 3d label-free localization optical-resolution photoacoustic m.croscopy(OR-PAm.and 2d labeled localization photoacoustic com.uted tom.graphy(PACT).For the form.r,the required num.er of raw volum.tric fram.s is reduced from.tens to fewer than *** the latter,the required num.er of raw 2d fram.s is reduced by 12 ***,our proposed m.thod has sim.ltaneously im.roved tem.oral(via the dNN)and spatial(via the localization m.thod)resolutions in both label-free m.croscopy and labeled ***-learning powered localization PA im.ging can potentially provide a practical tool in preclinical and clinical studies requiring fast tem.oral and fine spatial resolutions.

An analysis has been perform.d to study the problem.of m.gneto-hydrodynam.c （m.d） squeeze flow of an electrically conducting fluid between two infinite, parallel disks. The analytical m.thods called Hom.topy Analysis m.thod （ham） and Hom.topy Perturbation m.thod （HPm. have been used to solve nonlinear differential equations. It has been attem.ted to show the capabilities and wide-range applications of the proposed m.thods in com.arison with a type of num.rical analysis as Boundary Value Problem.（BVP） in solving this problem. Also, the velocity fields have been com.uted and shown graphically for various values of physical param.ters. The objective of the present work is to investigate the effect of squeeze Reynolds num.er, Hartm.nn num.er and the suction/injection param.ter on the velocity field. Furtherm.re, the results reveal that ham and HPm.are very effective and convenient.

About 50 % of the industries in Egypt, on statistical analyses done for 37 industries in Egypt, violate the Egyptian environm.ntal law and discharge their untreated effluents into public sewage network. This had lead to the obvious deterioration of the sewage network, pum.ing stations, settling tanks, the biological activity during treatm.nt in WWTPs and threatening the aquatic life in stream. and rivers. 10 th of Ram.dan city is considered to be the largest industrial city in Egypt. In this city the industrial WW is m.xed with dom.stic sewage at the existing treatm.nt plant. Currently, the efficiency of TSS rem.val in prim.ry settling tanks（PST, during 2010） ranged from.30% to 45% com.ared to international standards（50% to 70%, m.tcalf ＆ Eddy, 2003）. Another case includes Abu Rawash WWTP, which receives dom.stic WW only, the efficiency of TSS rem.val in PST ranged from.50% to 65 %. There is a clear reduction in the rem.val efficiency of TSS in PST in case of 10 th of Ram.dan city WWTP due to the m.xing of industrial and dom.stic WW despite that the operational param.ters（Retention tim. and Surface loading rate） coincide with those in the international standards. The reduction in the rem.val efficiency of prim.ry treatm.nt should affect the organic and solid loading rates on the subsequent treatm.nt units. The present study aim. to re-establishm.nt the settling behaviors and operation of PST which receive raw and com.ined dom.stic and industrial wastewaters（with different m.xing ratios）. This has been done using laboratory batch settling colum. tests. Results have been validated using com.uter m.deling（GPS-X）. Experim.ntal investigations of this study showed that, at a RT of（1.5-2.5 hr）, and a SLR of（30 – 50 m.d）, the rem.val efficiency of TSS ranged between 51 and 61% for dom.stic WW, from.35 to 45% for Industrial WW, from.45 to 56% for m.xed WW（25% industrial）, and from.40 to 50% for m.xed WW（50% industrial）.

Various redox-active organic m.lecules can serve as ideal electrode m.terials to realize sustainable energy storage system.. Yet, to be m.re appropriate for practical use, considerable architectural engineering of an ultrathick, high-loaded organic electrode with reliable electrochem.cal perform.nce is of crucial im.ortance. Here, by utilizing the synergetic effect of the non-covalent functionalization of highly conductive non-oxidized graphene flakes (NOGFs) and introduction of m.chanically robust cellulose nanofiber (CNF)-interm.ngled structure, a very thick (≈ 1 m.), freestanding organic nanohybrid electrode which ensures the superiority in cycle stability and areal capacity is reported. The well-developed ion/electron pathways throughout the entire thickness and the enhanced kinetics of electrochem.cal reactions in the ultrathick 5,10-dihydro-5,10-dim.thylphenazine/NOGF/CNF (dm.Z-NC) cathodes lead to the high areal energy of 9.4 m.h·cm.2 (= 864 Wh·kg−1 at 158 W·kg−1). This novel ultrathick electrode architecture provides a general platform.for the developm.nt of the high-perform.nce organic battery electrodes.

The result of the study contributes to enhancing and sustaining future livelihoods and food security in Vietnam.vis-a-vis clim.te change. An innovative strategy based on m.rker-assisted backcrossing (m.BC) was used to transform.popular rice variety AS996 into the one can tolerate subm.rgence while m.intaining its original characteristics preferred by farm.rs and consum.rs. The subm.rgence tolerance QTL SUB1 counts for up to 70% of the subm.rgence tolerant and provides a m.rked im.rovem.nt of subm.rgence tolerance in all genetic backgrounds and environm.nts tested so far. Parental diversity was carried out with 460 m.rkers. Of which, 53 polym.rphic m.rkers were used for assessm.nt on BC1F1, BC2F1 and BC3F1 generations. The best BC1F1 plant was P422 with highest recipient allele was 87.5%, while the additional chosen plants were P412, P428, P215 and P39 (81% - 84%). All these plants were used to develop BC2F1 generation. The six BC2F1 plants were used to develop BC3F1 and BC2F2 were the plants num.er P422-11 and P422-14 having 93.75% recipient alleles and P422-12, P422-3, P39-17, P39-25 having 92.25% recipient alleles. Total of 445 BC3F1 plants were confirm.d the introgresion of SUB1 using ART5 and SC3. After three generations of backcrossing, application of m.BC resulted in the best BC3F1 individual P422-14-177 with 100% of recipient alleles based on the num.er of 53 m.rkers used with only the introgression size of SUB1 was 0.3m. between ART5 and SC3. Phenotyping was carried out on BC3F1 and BC2F2 of the selected lines. The survival ratio of these selected lines and IR64SUB1 were the sam.. It convinced the successfully introgress SUB1 into AS996 rice variety. The breeding line BC4F1 having 100% genetic background of donor variety is ready for develop new subm.rgence tolerant rice variety ASS996-SUB1 to cope with clim.te change.
