Various redox-active organic molecules can serve as ideal electrode materials to realize sustainable energy storage systems. Yet, to be more appropriate for practical use, considerable architectural engineering of an ultrathick, high-loaded organic electrode with reliable electrochemical performance is of crucial importance. Here, by utilizing the synergetic effect of the non-covalent functionalization of highly conductive non-oxidized graphene flakes (NOGFs) and introduction of mechanically robust cellulose nanofiber (CNF)-intermingled structure, a very thick (≈ 1 mm), freestanding organic nanohybrid electrode which ensures the superiority in cycle stability and areal capacity is reported. The well-developed ion/electron pathways throughout the entire thickness and the enhanced kinetics of electrochemical reactions in the ultrathick 5,10-dihydro-5,10-dimethylphenazine/NOGF/CNF (dmPZ-NC) cathodes lead to the high areal energy of 9.4 mWh·cm−2 (= 864 Wh·kg−1 at 158 W·kg−1). This novel ultrathick electrode architecture provides a general platform for the development of the high-performance organic battery electrodes.

Introduction: Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a common benign condition with a worldwide prevalence of between 5% and 45% in the adult population. Its prevalence in the general population is little known in Africa. The aim of this work was to study the prevalence of typical GERD in the general adult population of a large city and the associated socio-demographic factors. Patients and Methods: This was a prospectively collected, descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study that was conducted over a one-month period (June 2018). We included any person residing in the city of Cotonou for at least 6 months, aged 15 years or older, who had given consent for the study. The two-stage cluster sampling technique was used. The dependent variable was the typical gastroesophageal reflux defined by the heatburn-regurgitation association. Results: We had included 728 subjects. Of these, 255 had a typical GERD, i.e. a prevalence of 35%. The mean age of the respondents was 31.9 ± 13.2 years with extremes of 15 and 88 years. There were 379 men (52.1%) with a sex ratio of 1.08. The study population was represented respectively by artisans (29.3%), students (26.6%) and traders/dealers (20.3%). In this paper, we propose an iterative relaxation method for solving the hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman-Isaacs equation(HJBIE) arising in deterministic optimal control of affine nonlinear systems. Local convergence of the method is established under fairly mild assumptions, and examples are solved to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method. An extension of the approach to Lyapunov equations is also discussed. The preliminary results presented are promising, and it is hoped that the approach will ultimately develop into an efficient computational tool for solving the HJBIEs.

Three-dimensional(3d)nanoarchitectures have offered unprecedented material performances in diverse applications like energy storages,catalysts,electronic,mechanical,and photonic *** outstanding performances are attributed to unusual material properties at the nanoscale,enormous surface areas,a geometrical uniqueness,and comparable feature sizes with optical *** the practical use of the unusual nanoscale properties,there have been developments for macroscale fabrications of the 3d nanoarchitectures with process areas over centimeter *** the many fabrication methods for 3d structures at the nanoscale,proximity-field nanopatterning(PnP)is one of the promising techniques that generates 3d optical holographic images and transforms them into material structures through a lithographic *** conformal and transparent phase masks as a key factor,the PnP process has advantages in terms of stability,uniformity,and reproducibility for 3d nanostructures with periods from 300 nm to several *** merits of realizing precise 3d features with sub-100 nm and rapid processes are attributed to the interference of coherent light diffracted by phase *** this review,to report the overall progress of PnP from 2003,we present a comprehensive understanding of PnP,including its brief history,the fundamental principles,symmetry control of 3d nanoarchitectures,material issues for the phase masks,and the process area expansion to the wafer-scale for the target ***,technical challenges and prospects are discussed for further development and practical applications of the PnP technique.

A superresolution imaging approach that localizes very small targets,such as red blood cells or droplets of injected photoacoustic dye,has significantly improved spatial resolution in various biological and medical imaging ***,this superior spatial resolution is achieved by sacrificing temporal resolution because many raw image frames,each containing the localization target,must be superimposed to form a sufficiently sampled high-density superresolution ***,we demonstrate a computational strategy based on deep neural networks(dNNs)to reconstruct high-density superresolution images from far fewer raw image *** localization strategy can be applied for both 3d label-free localization optical-resolution photoacoustic microscopy(OR-PAm)and 2d labeled localization photoacoustic computed tomography(PACT).For the former,the required number of raw volumetric frames is reduced from tens to fewer than *** the latter,the required number of raw 2d frames is reduced by 12 ***,our proposed method has simultaneously improved temporal(via the dNN)and spatial(via the localization method)resolutions in both label-free microscopy and labeled ***-learning powered localization PA imaging can potentially provide a practical tool in preclinical and clinical studies requiring fast temporal and fine spatial resolutions.

In this paper, iterative or successive approximation methods for the hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman-lsaacs equations （HJBIEs） arising in both deterministic and stochastic optimal control for affine nonlinear systems are developed. Convergence of the methods are established under fairly mild assumptions, and examples are solved to demonstrate the effectiveness of the methods. However, the results presented in the paper are preliminary, and do not yet imply in anyway that the solutions computed will be stabilizing. more improvements and experimentation will be required before a satisfactory algorithm is developed.

Introduction: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a known public health burden in western countries while only a few studies have been published on this disease in Africa. The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of IBS in the general adult population of Cotonou (Benin), its associated risk factors and its impact on patients’ daily life. method: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study conducted over one month. data was collected via a questionnaire. IBS was defined by the Rome IV criteria. Results: A total of 768 participants were included, with a male predominance (sex ratio 1.8). The mean age of the participants was 30.6 years, with extremes of 15 to 76 years. The prevalence of IBS in our study was 4.2%. IBS-d was the most common subtype (34.4%). IBS symptoms were influenced by diet (46.9%), stress (31.3%) and lack of sleep (15.6%). In the univariate analysis, the risk factors associated with IBS were: dendi and Otamari ethnicity (p = 0.015), low level of education (p = 0.047), family history of IBS (p = 0.026), smoking (p Conclusion: despite IBS frequency, patients with IBS rarely seek medical attention. The public should therefore be informed about this condition to reduce its impact on their daily life.

Beta-2-microglobulin (B2m) is a low molecular weight polypeptide (11,800 da) that exists in a free form and a form bound to cell membranes (light chains of HLA class I molecules). Their dosage is used in the exploration and monitoring of renal function in haemodialysis patients, hence the interest of this study, the objective of which is to study the different players involved in the increase of beta-2-microglobulin. materials and methods: This was a prospective and descriptive study from January 1st, 2017 to August 31, 2017 (08 months). All patients with chronic hemodialysis for 3 years or more were included. We analyzed sociodemographic, clinical and paraclinical data. Results: We collected 50 patients. The mean age was 50 ± 4.6 years with extremes of 30 and 82 years. The female sex predominated (52%). Chronic end-stage renal failure was hypertensive (86%), diabetic (4%). All patients benefited from intermittent hemodialysis for 8 hours per week using a low permeability membrane (cuprophane). The average duration of hemodialysis was 68 ± 6.4 months with extremes of 36 and 204 months. Twenty percent (20%) and four percent (4%) of chronic dialysis patients had joint pain and sensory deficit. Phalen’s sign was positive in 2% (1 case), Tinel’s sign in 2% (1 case) and carpal tunnel syndrome in 2% (1 case). The mean serum beta-2-microglobulin level was 58.34 ng/l with extremes of 16.99 and 112.24 ng/l. There was a correlation between hypertensive nephropathies and beta-2-microglobulin levels above 50 ng/l (P mortality rate was 6%. Conclusion: Our study has objectified factors such as inadequate dialysis (8 hours/week), use of low permeability membrane in the increase of beta-2-microglobulin. The increase in serum beta-2-microglobulin levels in our patients is evidence of poor purification of medium molecules.
