magneto-hydrodynamic flow of squeezed fluid with binary chemical reaction and activation energy

The present exploration is conducted to describe the motion of viscous fluid embedded in squeezed channel under the applied magnetics *** processes of heat and mass transport incorporate the temperature-dependent binary chemical reaction with modified Arrhenius theory of activation energy function which is not yet disclosed for squeezing flow *** flow,heat and mass regime are exposed to be governed via dimensionless,highly non-linear,ordinary differential equations (ODEs) under no-slip walls boundary conditions.A well-tempered analytical convergent procedure is adopted for the solutions of boundary value problem.A detailed study is accounted through graphs in the form of flow velocity field,temperature and fluid concentration distributions for various emerging parameters of enormous ***-friction,Nusselt and Sherwood numbers have been acquired and disclosed through *** results indicate that fluid temperature follows an increasing trend with dominant dimensionless reaction rate σ and activation energy parameter ***,an increment in σ and E parameters is found to decline in fluid *** current study arises numerous engineering and industrial processes including polymer industry,compression and injection shaping,lubrication system,formation of paper sheets,thin fiber,molding of plastic *** the area of chemical engineering,geothermal engineering,cooling of nuclear reacting,nuclear or chemical system,bimolecular reactions,biochemical process and electrically conducting polymeric flows can be controlled by utilizing magnetic *** by such applications,the proposed study has been developed.

Hypoxia tolerance studies for yield,fiber and physiological traits in cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Background： Hypoxia tolerance studies in cotton are very rare in Pakistan. Unpredicted and excessive rainfalls result in severe losses to cotton crop in many regions of the country due to lack of hypoxia tolerance in current cotton varieties. The genotypes that can tolerate flooding are not reported earlier. The studies were conducted to explore hypoxia tolerance in local germplasm which will help to develop hypoxia tolerant cotton varieties. method： An experiment with randomized complete different cotton varieties. The genotypes were given conditions. blocks was designed to study the hypoxia tolerance in two treatments i.e., water logged and non-water logged Results： The genotypes showed significant variability for yield, fiber and physiological traits. The hypoxia studies revealed that there is significant reduction for plant height in water sensitive genotype LRA-5166. The genotype mNH-786 showed better yield and mNH-556 showed superior ginning outturn percentage under water logged conditions. Staple length, strength and micronaire values also decreased under hypoxia. Similar pattern of negative effects were observed for Chlorophyll a, b contents and chl a/b ratio. Two hypoxia tolerant cultivars CIm-573 and mNH-564 had significantly higher chlorophyll a （1.664, 1.551） than other cultivars under both normal and waterlogged conditions. There was a significant decrease in total free amino acids in all genotypes/cultivars due to waterlogging. Free amino acid contents were significantly higher in two waterlogging sensitive cultivars, CEDIX and N-KRISHmA, than other cultivars under both non-waterlogged and waterlogged conditions. Waterlogging caused a significant reduction in shoot soluble proteins and increase in shoot proline. The genotype LRA-5166 was the highest in shoot soluble proteins content and showed significant decrease in shoot proline. Phytoecological evaluation with detail floristic appraisal of the vegetation arround malam Jabba,Swat,Pakistan

Objective:To determine the present status of plant communities and their possible association with the habitat in malam Jabba,Swat,***:A study on the phytoecology was conducted in various ecologically important sites of malam Jabba,Swat,Pakistan from 2002 to *** altitude of these sites ranged from 1200 m to.1200 *** method was used for evaluation of plants communities and the data on these attributes was converted to relative values. The plant communities were named after 3 leading species with highest importance values. Biological spectrum of the flora based on the life form was prepared by following Raunkiar's life form ***:The floristic composition and structure of the study area were found to be 200 species belonging to 75 ***,Lamiaceae and Poaceae were important families in the study *** biological spectrum showed that therophytic and hemicrytophytic life form and micro-nonophyllous leaf sizes were dominant in the *** air and soil temperatures were decreasing with increasing *** the air and soil temperatures were relatively higher in south slopes than on the northeast *** vegetation analysis of the area indicated eleven plant communities around the *** present vegetation is the relics of moist temperate coniferous forest in the *** communities reflect highly deteriorated conditions. Biopolymer based hydrogels are highly adaptable, compatible and have shown great potential in biological tissues in biomedical applications. However, the development of bio-based hydrogels with high strength and effective antibacterial activity remains challenging. Herein, a series of vanillin-cross-linked chitosan nanocomposite hydrogel interfacially reinforced by g-C_(3)N_(4)nanosheet carrying starch-caped Ag NPs were prepared for wound healing applications. The study aimed to enhance the strength, sustainability and control release ability of the fabricated membranes. Starch-caped silver nanoparticles were incorporated to enhance the anti-bacterial activities The fabricated membranes were assessed using various characterization techniques such as FT-IR, XRD, SEm, mechanical testing, Gel fraction and porosity alongside traditional biomedical tests i.e., swelling percentage, moisture retention ability, water vapor transmission rate, oxygen permeability, anti-bacterial activity and drug-release of the fabricated membranes. The mechanical strength reached as high as 25.9 ± 0.24 mPa for the best optimized sample. The moisture retention lied between 87%–89%, gel fraction 80%–85%, and water vapor transmission up to 104 ± 1.9g m^(-2)h^(-1)showing great properties of the fabricated membrane. Swelling percentage surged to 225% for blood while porosity fluctuated between 44% ± 2.1% and 52.5% ± 2.3%. Oxygen permeability reached up to 8.02 mg/L showing the breathable nature of fabricated membranes. The nanocomposite membrane shown excellent antibacterial activity for both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria with a maximum zone of inhibition 30 ± 0.25 mm and 36.23 ± 0.23 mm respectively. River bankline migration is a frequent phenomenon in the river of the floodplain ***,channel dynamics-related changes in land use and land cover(LULC)are becoming a risk to the life and property of people living in the vicinity of rivers.A comprehensive evaluation of the causes and consequences of such changes is essential for better policy and decision-making for disaster risk reduction and *** present study assesses the changes in the Brahmaputra River planform using the GIS-based Digital Shoreline Analysis System(DSAS)and relates it with the changing LULC of the floodplain evaluated using the CA-markov *** this study,the future channel of the Brahmaputra River and its flood plain’s future LULC were forecasted to pinpoint the erosion-vulnerable ***-eight years(1973–2021)of remotely sensed data were applied to estimate the rate of bankline *** was observed that the river’s erosion-accretion rate was higher in early times than in more recent *** left and right banks’average shifting rates between 1973 and 1988 were -55.44 m/y and -56.79 m/y,respectively,while they were-17.25 m/y and -48.49 m/y from 2011 to *** left bank of the river Brahmaputra had more erosion than the right,which indicates that the river is shifting in the leftward direction(Southward).In this river course,zone A(Lower course)and zone B(middle course)were more adversely affected than zone C(Upper course).According to the predicted result,the left bank is more susceptible to bank erosion than the right bank(where the average rate of erosion and deposition was -72.23 m/y and 79.50 m/y,respectively).The left bank’s average rate of erosion was -111.22 m/*** research assesses the LULC study in conjunction with river channel dynamics in vulnerable areas where nearby infrastructure and settlements were at risk due to channel *** degree of accu-racy was verified using the actual bankline and predicted bankline,as well as the actual LULC map

Polysaccharides Based Random and Unidirectional Aerogels for Thermal and mechanical Stability

Owing to the increasing energy demands and the environmental constraints,the need for bio-based materials has been on the rise due to their variety of favorable properties like biocompatibility,cost-effectiveness,large specific surface area,high porosity,and *** stability and mechanical strength of aerogels are highly dependent on their micro-porous structures.A three-dimensional structure based on cellulose nanofiber/chitosan(CNF/CS)aerogels was built using two different freezing methodologies,namely random freezing,and unidirectional freezing techniques,by changing mold *** unidirectional aerogels ultimately resulted in high-temperature stability and mechanical *** results show that the unidirectional CNF/CS(u-CNF/CS)aerogels contain controlled micro porous orientation relative to random-CNF/CS(r-CNF/CS)aerogels with the disordered porous *** high-temperature stability with an increase of glass transition temperature T_(g) from 275℃(CNF)to 283℃(CNF/CS),the ultra-low thermal conductivity of 0.030 W/(m·K),and mechanical robustness of u-CNF/CS aerogels make them quite favorable for practical applications.

Review on Liquefaction Potential of Silts from CPT Data

Soil liquefaction occurs when pore water pressure of low cohesion materials equals or exceeds the effective confining pressure. Sudden increases in pore water pressure may occur in response to dynamic loads, such as earthquake shaking, or shear strain engendered by sudden movement （static liquefaction）. This study focused on the evaluation of the liquefaction potential of silty soils using CPT （cone penetration test） data. There is much less CPT data on the behavior of silts under dynamic loading, as compared to sandy soil mixtures. Robertson and Wride proposed a method of evaluating liquefaction evaluation for silt-sand mixtures using CPT data, when the soils contain less than 35% fines. Until more research is conducted, soils comprised of more than 35% fines cannot be reliably evaluated using CPT data alone. This is true for isolated silts or silt mixtures, which require laboratory testing to evaluate their liquefaction potential. Experience has shown that soils with 〉 35% silt can liquefy if drainage is retarded or severely restricted by bounding low permeability horizons, such as silty clays or clayey silts, which prevent dissipation of dynamically induced pore water pressures.

Identification and Characterization of Bacterial Community Associated with the Chewed Feeding Waste of Red Palm Weevil in Infested Date Palm Trees

Red palm weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier) (Coleoptera, Curculionidae), is considered one of the most damaging insect pests of date palms in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Large scale infestation of RPW to date palm trees leads to excessive feeding activity of the RPW larvae, which is carried out by microorganisms present within RPW and producing a wet fermenting material inside the trunk. Culture dependent-bacteria were isolated from feeding waste and identified by the sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene using 8F and 1492R universal primers. Among the culture-dependent isolated bacteria, 80% were identified by comparing 16S rRNA gene sequence in NCBI database, using BLAST program in GenBank. 85% of the identified bacteria were Gram-positive while the rest of them were Gram-negative. A high abundance of bacteria were from the Bacillaceae family and sixteen different species of Bacillus were identified in comparison with NCBI GenBank. The 16S rRNA gene sequences of identified bacterial strains have been submitted to GenBank. The phylogenetic relationship was studied using 16S rRNA gene sequences, the Gram-negative bacteria came in one clade while Gram-positive different Bacillus sp. and strains showed evolutionary closeness to each other and accordingly, they came in one major clade under three different sub-clades in the phylogenetic tree. The findings of new Bacillus strains in the natural habitat of the date plam trees in the Kingdom of Bahrain, pledge a vast area of research on RPW bio-control research arena.

Efficacy of intragastric balloon on weight reduction:Saudi perspective

AIm To evaluate the safety and efficacy of intragastric balloon(IGB) in weight reduction in obese patients referred to a tertiary hospital in the Kingdom of Saudi *** Three hundred and one consecutive obese individuals, who underwent IGB placement during January 2009 to may 2015, were analyzed. The subjects aged 18 to 60 years and had a minimum body mass index(BmI) of 27 kg/m^2. The IGB was placed under conscious sedation and kept for 6 mo. Anthropometric measurements were recorded during and after 6 mo of IGB *** The body weight, excess body weight, and BmI were significantly reduced at the time of IGB removal and 6 mo later. Body weight loss > 10% was achieved in 224 subjects at removal of IGB. End of treatment success and long-term success were both significantly observed in women(70 vs 11)(71 vs 12.5) respectively. Excess BmI loss was significantly higher in subjects retaining the IGB for over 6 mo both at the removal [43.44 ± 19.46(n = 221) vs 55.60 ± 28.69(n = 80); t = 4.19, P = 0.0001] as well as at the end of 6 mo' follow-up [46.57 ± 24.89(n = 221) vs 63.52 ± 31.08(n = 80); t = 4.87, P = 0.0001]. Within 3 d of IGB placement, two subjects developed pancreatitis and one subject developed cardiac arrhythmia. Intestinal obstruction due to displacement of IGB occurred in two subjects. Allthese subjects recovered uneventfully after immediate removal of the IGB. CONCLUSION IGB was effective in our cohorts. The observed weight reduction was maintained for at least 6 mo post IGB removal. IGB placement was safe with a satisfactory tolerance rate.

DNA Barcoding and Identification of medicinal Plants in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Authentication of medicinally important plants is essential for increasingly demands of herbal remedies worldwide. DNA barcoding technology is currently gaining importance as a reliable tool for plant species identification, although one barcode gene is not enough in the exceptions. Short sequence diversity of standardized specific coding gene regions of rbcLa and matK of plastid genome together with noncoding ribosomal internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) marker is used as barcode to compare and differentiate plant species. The success of obtaining sequences of the 29 analyzed plants distributed in 21 families using three different barcode genes rbcLa, matK and ITS2 were 97%, 79% and 75% respectively. multiple sequence alignment confirmed the medicinal plants at species level by 89.28%, 86.32% and 60.86% obtained through rbcLa, ITS2 and matK barcodes sequences respectively. The genetic distance between sequence pairs (GD) and percentage identity (PI) is compared to analyze the plant identity at species level. The phylogenic trees constructed to show the relatedness and distance of the analyzed plants in the history of evolution by the analysis of richness of clades. The construction of DNA barcode library of desert medicinal plants is an introductory research arena in Kingdom of Bahrain in helping the routine identification of plants, and developing guidelines for detection of adulterants in herbal medicines as well as protection of biodiversity.
