Experimental studies and artificial neural network modeling of surface tension of aqueous sodium L-prolinate solutions and piperazine blends

The surface tension study is very crucial for the design of CO2 gas absorption contacting equipment. The significance of the surface tension has been increasing due to its consideration in various technological fields. This property influences the mass transfer and hydrodynamics of gas absorption systems, mainly multiphase systems, in which the interface between gas and liquid exists. Therefore, in this study, surface tension of aqueous solutions of sodium L-prolinate(SP) and piperazine(PZ) blends were measured at ten different temperatures from(298.15 to 343.15) K. The SP mass fractions were 0.10, 0.20, and 0.30;while the mass fractions of PZ were 0.02 and 0.05. The experimental results showed that the surface tension increase with increasing the mass fractions of SP and PZ in aqueous blends, and decrease linearly with rising temperature. The experimental data of surface tension were correlated by two empirical correlations as a function of temperature and mass fractions for estimating the predicted data using the optimized correlation coefficients. moreover, the modeling of surface tension data was carried out using Artificial Neural Network(ANN) approach. The results obtianed from ANN modeling were compared with applied empirical correlation. It was found that the ANN approach outperformed the empirical correlation used in this study. Besides, a quantitative analysis of variation(ANOVA) was performed in order to determine the significance of data. The surface tension of aqueous SP and SP + PZ was also compared with various conventional solvents.

microbial fuel cells(mFCs)are innovative devices that combine microbial processes with electrochemical reactions to convert organic matter in wastewater into electricity while simultaneously treating the *** such application is the treatment of spent wash,a highly polluting effluent generated from the distillery industry after crude mesh is separated into ethanol and spent *** wash,also known as distillery effluent or stillage,is a highly challenging wastewater treatment method due to its high chemical oxygen demand(COD),biological oxygen demand(BOD),and total dissolved solids(TDS).These characteristics make it a complex and polluting industrial effluent that requires specialized treatment processes to reduce its environmental impact ***,mFCs have shown promise in treating spent wash,as they can utilize the organic matter in wastewater as a fuel source for microbial growth as well as for electricity *** the treatment of spent wash,Saccharomyces cerevisiae *** used as a biocatalyst along with 340 mol/L potassium ferricyanide in the cathode chamber and 170 mol/L methylene blue in the anode as a *** tests were conducted by balancing a one-liter volume for power production from spent wash in mFC with the optimal conditions of 10%agarose,pH 8.5,300 mL/min of aeration in the cathode chamber,and 40%(in weight)substrate *** an ideal concentration,the maximum current and power density are roughly 53.41 mA/m^(2)and 72.22 mW/m^(2),*** each litre of processed spent wash,a maximum voltage of 850 mV(4.5 mA)was ***,91%of COD and BOD were removed from the effluent *** findings show that mFCs are capable of producing electricity and efficiently removing COD from wasted wash at the same time.

Physicochemical properties of aqueous solutions of sodium glycinate in the non-precipitation regime from 298.15 to 343.15 K

The physicochemical properties,including the density,viscosity,and refractive index of aqueous solutions of sodium glycinate as a solvent for CO_2 absorption in the non-precipitation regime were measured under the wide temperature range of 298.15 to 343.15 *** concentration of the sodium glycinate in an aqueous form in the non-precipitation regime was identified up to 2.0 mol ? L^(-1).The coefficients of thermal expansion values were estimated from measured density *** was found that,the densities,viscosities and refractive indices of the aqueous sodium glycinate decrease with an increase in temperature,whereas with increasing sodium glycinate concentration in the solution,all three properties *** expansion coefficients slightly increase with rising temperature and *** measured values of density,viscosity and refractive index were correlated as a function of temperature by using the least squares *** predicted data obtained from correlation equations for all measured properties were in fairly good agreement with the experimental data.

In this work,an Artificial Neural Network(ANN)based technique is suggested for classifying the faults which occur in hybrid power distribution ***,which is generated by the solar and wind energy-based hybrid system,is given to the grid at the Point of Common Coupling(PCC).A boost converter along with perturb and observe(P&O)algorithm is utilized in this system to obtain a constant link *** contrast,the link voltage of the wind energy conversion system(WECS)is retained with the assistance of a Proportional Integral(PI)*** grid synchronization is tainted with the assis-tance of the d-q *** the analysis of faults like islanding,line-ground,and line-line fault,the ANN is *** voltage signal is observed at the PCC,and the Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT)is employed to obtain different *** on the collected features,the ANN classifies the faults in an effi-cient *** simulation is done in mATLAB and the results are also validated through the hardware *** fault analysis is carried out and the results are compared with the existing ***,the Total harmonic distortion(THD)is lessened by 4.3%by using the proposed methodology.

Precipitation in Inconel 625 alloy has been studied by positron annihilation spectroscopy and electron microscopy. The observed dependence of annihilation characteristics on aging time is attributed to the change of the positron state due to the increase and decrease of the density and size of the 7' precipitates. Hardness measurements and lifetime measurements are in good agreement.

This investigative study is focused on the impact of wavelet on traditional forecasting time-series models,which significantly shows the usage of wavelet *** Decomposition(WD)algorithm has been combined with various traditional forecasting time-series models,such as Least Square Support Vector machine(LSSVm),Artificial Neural Network(ANN)and multivariate adaptive Regression Splines(mARS)and their effects are examined in terms of the statistical *** WD has been used as a mathematical application in traditional forecast modelling to collect periodically measured parameters,which has yielded tremendous constructive ***,it is observed that the wavelet combined models are classy compared to the various time series models in terms of performance ***,combining wavelet forecasting models has yielded much better results.

Detection of epileptic seizures on the basis of Electroencephalogram(EEG)recordings is a challenging task due to the complex,non-stationary and non-linear nature of these biomedical *** the existing literature,a number of automatic epileptic seizure detection methods have been proposed that extract useful features from EEG segments and classify them using machine learning *** characterizing features of epileptic and non-epileptic EEG signals overlap;therefore,it requires that analysis of signals must be performed from diverse *** studies analyzed these signals in diverse domains to identify distinguishing characteristics of epileptic EEG *** pose the challenge mentioned above,in this paper,a fuzzy-based epileptic seizure detection model is proposed that incorporates a novel feature extraction and selection method along with fuzzy *** proposed work extracts pattern features along with time-domain,frequencydomain,and non-linear analysis of *** applies a feature selection strategy on extracted features to get more discriminating features that build fuzzy machine learning classifiers for the detection of epileptic *** empirical evaluation of the proposed model was conducted on the benchmark Bonn EEG *** shows significant accuracy of 98%to 100%for normal *** classification cases while for three class classification of normal ***-ictal *** accuracy reaches to above 97.5%.The obtained results for ten classification cases(including normal,seizure or ictal,and seizure-free or inter-ictal classes)prove the superior performance of proposed work as compared to other state-of-the-art counterparts.

Impact of long term uplift on stream networks in tectonically active Northern Hill Range, Kachchh palaeo-rift basin, western India

The study deals with stream response to sustained tectonic during the Cenozoic and development of two parallel scarps in the western Kachchh. The study encompasses fluvial networks developed over the Jara and Jumara domes, which are a part of the laterally extensive belt of flexures bounded by the Kachchh mainland Fault(KmF) to their north and called as Northern Hill Range(NHR). Parameters such as longitudinal profile, Hack profile, stream length gradient index(SL), hypsometric curve, hypsometric integral(HI), valley floor width to height ratio(Vf), elongation ratio(Re) and escarpment sinuosity(ES) were analysed. Hack profiles of the major rivers draining through the area show similar convex up nature suggesting primary influence of the tectonics in controlling and shaping the landscape of the region. Elongation ratio metric integral suggest the tendency of river systems to increase the basin area longitudinally rather than laterally. The study suggests that higher net uplift in the eastern half(Jumara dome) caused the rivers to overcome the structural control and to carve out generally straight north oriented channels. The rivers of western part(Jara dome) show more prominent structural control of cuesta girdles formed in compact lithologies and attributed to the domal structure. The ~10 km long Jaramara scarp believed to the remnant of older KmF scarp, is a product of headward erosion of the fluvial channels through different hard and soft litho-units of the area. The similar orientation of Jaramara scarp and morphology of the Ukra intrusive body suggests that the Ukra intrusive played a significant role in controlling the formation and morphology of the Jaramara scarp.

Scale-up effect analysis and modeling of liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed risers using multigene genetic programming

Understanding scale-up effects on the hydrodynamics of a liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed(LSCFB)unit requires both experimental and theoretical *** implement multigene genetic programming(mGGP)to investigate the solid holdup and distribution in three LSCFB systems with different *** addition to data obtained here,we also use a portion of data sets of LSCFB systems developed by Zheng(1999)and Liang et al.(1996).model predictions are in good agreement with the experimental data in both radial and axial directions and at different normalized superficial liquid and solid *** radial profiles of the solid holdup are approximately identical at a fixed average cross-sectional solid holdup for the three LSCFB systems *** performance indicators including the mean absolute percentage error(6.19%)and correlation coefficient(0.985)are within an acceptable *** results suggest that a mGGP modeling approach is suitable for predicting the solid holdup and distribution of a scaled-up LSCFB system.
