Decadal changes in the subseasonal evolution and the phase-locked climatological intraseasonal fluctuation of summertime rainfall over the Korean Peninsula before and after the mid-1990s are *** activity and the migration speed of the monsoon rain band over the East Asian region are altered in the recent decade,resulting in the drier conditions in late spring and the earlier onset of *** early August when a climatological monsoon break was clear in the earlier decade,the precipitation has increased dramatically with a meridional *** response to the enhanced convection over the South China Sea and southeastern China provides a favorable condition for more precipitation in early August through the changes in moisture transport and tropical cyclone passage.

Increasing demand for real-time healthcare monitoring is leading to advances in thin and flexible optoelectronic device-based wearable pulse *** previous studies have used OLEDs for this purpose,but did not consider the side effects of broad full-width half-maximum(FWHm)characteristics and single *** this study,we performed SpO_(2)measurement using a fiber-based quantum-dot pulse oximetry(FQPO)system capable of mass production with a transferable encapsulation technique,and a narrow FWHm of about 30 *** on analyses we determined that uniform angular narrow FWHm-based light sources are important for accurate SpO_(2)measurements through multi-layer structures and human skin *** FQPO was shown to have improved photoplethysmogram(PPG)signal sensitivity with no waveguide-mode noise signal,as is typically generated when using a single substrate(30–50%).We successfully demonstrate improved SpO_(2)measurement accuracy as well as all-in-one clothing-type pulse oximetry with FQPO.

We have developed a new nanofilter using a carbon nanotube-silver composite material that is capable of efficiently removing waterborne viruses and *** nanofilter was subjected to plasma surface treatment to enhance its flow rate,which was improved by approximately 62%.Nanoscale pores were obtained by fabricating a carbon nanotube network and using nanoparticle fixation technology for the removal of *** pore size of the nanofilter was approximately 38 nm and the measured flow rate ranged from 21.0 to 97.2 L/（min·m^2）under a pressure of 1–6 kgf/cm^2 when the amount of loaded carbon nanotube-silver composite was 1.0 mg/cm^*** nanofilter was tested against Polio-,Noro-,and Coxsackie viruses using a sensitive real-time polymerase chain reaction assay to detect the presence of viral particles within the *** trace of viruses was found to flow through the nanofilter with carbon nanotube-silver composite loaded above 0.8 mg/cm^***,the surface of the filter has antibacterial properties to prevent bacterial clogging due to the presence of 20-nm silver nanoparticles,which were synthesized on the carbon nanotube surface.

A coupled supersonic inlet-fan Navier–Stokes simulation method was developed by using COmSOL-CFD code. The flow turning, pressure rise and loss effects across blade rows of the fan and the inlet-fan interactions were taken into account as source terms of the governing equations without a blade geometry by a body force model. In this model, viscous effects in blade passages can also be calculated directly, which include the exchange of momentum between fluids and detailed viscous flow close to walls. NASA Rotor 37 compressor test rig was used to validate the ability of the body force model to estimate the real performance of blade rows. Calculated pressure ratio characteristics and the distribution of the total pressure, total temperature, and swirl angle in the span direction agreed well with experimental and numerical data. It is shown that the body force model is a promising approach for predicting the flow field of the turbomachinery. Then, coupled axisymmetric mixed compression supersonic inlet-fan simulations were conducted at mach number 2.8 operating conditions. The analysis includes coupled steady-state performance, and effects of the fan on the inlet. The results indicate that the coupled simulation method is capable of simulating behavior of the supersonic inlet-fan system.

BACKGROUND Life-threatening hypoxia can occur in patients with lung cancer due to bronchial *** membrane oxygenation(ECmO)can be used as a bridge therapy for patients with severe hypoxia not relieved by conventional mechanical ***,the usefulness of chemotherapy in patients with lung cancer receiving ECmO therapy is not well *** SUmmARY A 53-year-old man visited the emergency room with worsening dyspnea for 1 mo.A series of imaging and diagnostic tests were performed,and stageⅢB(cT4N2m0)lung cancer was eventually *** hospital day 3,he experienced dyspnea and hypoxia that was not relieved with oxygen support via a high-flow nasal *** was initiated because his respiratory condition did not improve even with mechanical *** patient then underwent gemcitabine/cisplatin chemotherapy without dose reduction while on *** two cycles of chemotherapy,there was a decrease in the size of the primary tumor in the right main *** the completion of concurrent chemoradiotherapy,a computed tomography scan revealed further improvement in the right main bronchus *** months after a lung cancer diagnosis,the patient did well without any *** ECmO is a potential bridge therapy for respiratory failure in patients with central airway obstruction secondary to lung cancer.
