Involvement and therapeutic implications of airway epithelial barrier dysfunction in type 2 inflammation of asthma

Some studies of the interaction between two two-level atoms and SU(1,1) quantum systems

herein, we present an approach to look for the best phenomenon to measure quantum correlation. The system of two isolated qubits each interacting with a single-mode cavity was theoretically created to study the quantum correlation. Some of the phenomena, such as the quantum discord and concurrence, were generated through such a system. The influences of initial state purity, qubit motion, and detuning parameters were discussed for the phenomena. These parameters for a specific value show that the behavior of phenomena are analogous. It is interesting to mention that some values of detuning undergo a sudden death of phenomena, and the quantum discord still captures the qubits quantum correlation. We predict that the quantum discord may be a better measure of quantum correlation than concurrence.

Investigation of ellipticity and pump power in a passively mode-locked fiber laser using the nonlinear polarization rotation technique

An elliptical initial polarization state is essential for generating mode-locked pulses using the nonlinear polarization rotation technique. In this work, the relationship between the ellipticity ranges capable of maintaining mode-locked operation against different pump power levels is investigated. An increasing pump power, in conjunction with minor adjustments to the polarization controller＇s quarter waveplate, results in a wider ellipticity range that can accommodate mode-locked operation. Other parameters such as noise, pulsewidth, and average output power are also observed to vary as the ellipticity changes.

A Q-Switched Erbium-Doped Fiber Laser with a Carbon Nanotube Based Saturable Absorber

We demonstrate a simple,compact and low cost Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL)using single-wall carbon nanotubes(CNTs)as a saturable absorber for possible applications in metrology,sensing,and medical *** EDFL operates at around 1560 nm with repetition rates of 16.1 khz and 6.4 khz with saturable absorbers SA1 and SA2 at a pump power of 120 *** absorbers are constructed by optically driven deposition and normal deposition *** is observed that the optical deposition method produces a Q-switched EDFL with a lower threshold of 70 mW and better Q-switching performance compared to that of the normal deposition *** EDFL also has pulse energy of 90.3 nJ and pulse width of 11.6μs at 120 mW pump power.

measuring the growth parameters of Ge quantum dots （QDs） embedded in SiO2/Si hetero-structure is pre- requisite for developing the optoelectronic devices such as photovoltaics and sensors. Their optical properties can be tuned by tailoring the growth morphology and structures, where the growth parameters＇ optimizations still need to be explored. We determine the effect of annealing temperature on surface morphology, structures and optical properties of Ge//SiO2//Si hetero-structure. Samples are grown via rf magnetron sputtering and subsequent characterizations are made using imaging and spectroscopic techniques.

For the past several decades, climate change has been driving vegetation dynamics in arid regions worldwide. This study investigates vegetation dynamics and their links to climate from 1990 to 2020 in Xinjiang, China, using data from 30-m resolution land use and cover change, remote sensing, and climate reanalysis. Our approach encompasses a range of analytical techniques, including transfer matrix analysis, modeling, correlation, regression,and trend analysis. During the study period, there were major vegetation conversions from grassland to forestland in the mountains, and from cropland to grassland in the plains. Climate change emerged as an important trigger of these changes, as evidenced by the increase in net primary productivity in most vegetation types, except for cropland-grassland and grassland-cropland conversions. Precipitation and soil moisture were the most influential climatic factors, contributing 15.1% and 15.2%, respectively, to natural vegetation *** study also found that evapotranspiration serves as a key mechanism for moisture dissipation in the hydrological cycle of vegetation dynamics. The interplay between precipitation,soil moisture, and evapotranspiration is a critical pattern of climatic influence that shapes vegetation dynamics across zones of intersection, increase, decrease, and change. These insights are invaluable for informing vegetation conservation and development strategies in Xinjiang and other similar environments facing climate-driven ecological transitions.

Titanium dioxide-based Q-switched dual wavelength in the 1 micron region

In this work a passively Q-switched dual-wavelength ytterbium-doped fiber laser using a titanium dioxide-based saturable absorber is proposed and proven. The system also utilizes a side-polished fiber in a ring cavity configuration to obtain the desired pulse train. A stable dual-wavelength pulse output is obtained at 1034.7and 1039.0 nm, with a maximum pulse energy of 2.0 n J, and a shortest pulse width of 3.2 μs. The generated pulse train is stable, and has a pulse repetition rate from 31.2 to 64.5 khz.

hydromagnetic flow of a Cu water nanofluid past a moving wedge with viscous dissipation

A numerical study is performed to investigate the flow and heat transfer at the surface of a permeable wedge immersed in a copper （Cu）-water-based nanofluid in the presence of magnetic field and viscous dissipation using a nanofluid model proposed by Tiwari and Das （Tiwari I k and Das m k 2007 Int. J. heatmass Transfer 50 2002）. A similarity solution for the transformed governing equation is obtained, and those equations are solved by employing a numerical shooting technique with a fourth-order Runge-kutta integration scheme. A comparison with previously published work is carried out and shows that they are in good agreement with each other. The effects of velocity ratio parameter ~, solid volume fraction tp, magnetic field m, viscous dissipation Ec, and suction parameter Fw on the fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics are discussed. The unique and dual solutions for self-similar equations of the flow and heat transfer are analyzed numerically. moreover, the range of the velocity ratio parameter for which the solution exists increases in the presence of magnetic field and suction parameter.

Experiments of soiling effects on the performances of a PV panel have been performed using dust collected from two sites in the region of *** optical transmittance of the front glass was found to depend on the nature and density of *** nature of dust was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive x-ray *** was found that the granulometry of dust particles depends on the study *** a dust density of around 20 g/m^(2),the maximum power Pmax of the solar panel decreases drastically from 30 to 20 W for the(hP)site,and no more than 14 W for the(AD)*** diversity of the behavior of the soiled panel was explained in terms of the size of the particles collected from each *** transmission of light across the front glass of the PV panel is more affected when the sizes of particles are small.

Intensity modulated silver coated glass optical fiber refractive index sensor

miniature optical fiber sensors with thin films as sensitive elements could open new fields for optical fiber sensor applications. Thin films work as sensitive elements and a transducer to get response and feedback from environments, in which optical fibers act as a signal carrier. A novel Ag coated intensity modulated optical fiber sensor based on refractive index changes using IR and UV-Vis （UV-visible） light sources is proposed. The sensor with an IR light source has higher sensitivity compared to a UV-Vis source. When the refractive index is en- hanced to 1.38, the normalized intensity of IR and UV-Vis light diminishes to 0.2 and 0.8. respectively.
