BACKGROUND Antibody-mediated rejection following liver transplantation(Lt)has been increasingly recognized,particularly with respect to the emergence of de novo donor-specific antibodies(DSAs)and their impact on graft *** substantial evidence for adult populations exists,research focusing on pediatric Lt outcomes remains *** to investigate the prevalence of human leukocyte antigen(hLA)mismatches and DSA and evaluate their association with rejection episodes after pediatric *** A cohort of pediatric Lt recipients underwent hLA testing at Santa Casa de Porto Alegre,Brazil,between December 2013 and December *** patients who survived for>30 days after Lt with at least one DSA analysis were *** classes I and II and cross-matches were *** presence of de novo DSA(dnDSA)was evaluated at least 3 months after Lt using the Luminex®single antigen bead method,with a positive reaction threshold set at 1000 *** episodes were confirmed by liver *** Overall,67 transplanted children were analyzed;61 received grafts from living donors,85%of whom were related to ***-transplant DSA(class I or II)was detected in 28.3%of patients,and dnDSA was detected in 48.4%.the median time to DSA detection after Lt was 19.7[interquartile range(IQR):4.3-35.6]*** rejection occurred in 13 patients at follow-up,with C4d positivity observed in 5/13 Liver *** median time to rejection was 7.8(IQR:5.7-12.8)*** presence of dnDSA was significantly associated with rejection(36%vs 3%,Pthe rejection-free survival rates at 12 and 24 months were 76%vs 100%and 58%vs 95%for patients with dnDSA anti-DQ vs those without,*** Our findings highlight the importance of incorporating DSA assessment into pre-and post-transplantation protocols for pediatric Lt *** implications may include immunosuppression minimization strategies based on this analysis in pediatric Lt recip

Salinity is a major abiotic stress that hinders plant development and productivity and influences agricultural *** priming is a technique used to boost germination and seedling growth under abiotic stress.A pot experiment was conducted to evaluate the impact of seed priming with potassium nitrate(KNO_(3))at various levels(0%,0.50%,1.00%and 1.50%)under salt stress(0,75,100 mm NaCl)on two maize verities(mNh360 and 30t60)for the growth,development and metabolic attributes results revealed that in maize variety mNh360,KNO_(3)priming’s significantly enhanced growth parameters than in maize variety 30t60 under control and salt-stressed *** with KNO_(3)enhanced carotenoids and total chlorophyll in the 30t60 variety that protected the maize plants from salt ***,it was shown that priming with 1.00%KNO_(3)acts as safeguarded to protect them from oxidative damage by salt stress minimizing reactive oxygen species(ROS)formation through increased levels of malondialdehyde(mDA),catalase(CAt),peroxidase(POD),ascorbate peroxidase(APX),and total soluble *** findings of the present study confirm that the use of the KNO_(3)seed priming technique is a lowcost,environmentally friendly technique for mitigating adverse impacts of salt stress in maize crops by activating the antioxidant defense system and improving chlorophyll and osmolyte contents.

Growing evidences indicate that dysfunction of autophagy contributes to the disease pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)and frontotemporal dementia(FtD),two neurodegenerative *** GGGGCC·GGCCCC repeat RNA expansion in chromosome 9 open reading frame 72(C9orf72)is the most genetic cause of both ALS and *** to the previous studies,GGGGCC·GGCCCC repeat undergoes the unconventional repeat-associated non-AtG translation,which produces dipeptide repeat(DPR)*** there is a growing understanding that C9orf72 DPRs have a strong ability to harm neurons and induce C9orf72-linked ALS/FtD,whether these DPRs can affect autophagy remains *** the present study,we find that poly-GR and poly-PR,two arginine-containing DPRs which display the most cytotoxic properties according to the previous studies,strongly inhibit starvation-induced ***,our data indicate that arginine-rich DPRs enhance the interaction between BCL2 and BECN1/Beclin 1 by inhibiting BCL2 phosphorylation,therefore they can impair autophagic clearance of neurodegenerative disease-associated protein aggregates under starvation condition in ***,our study not only highlights the role of C9orf72 DPR in autophagy dysfunction,but also provides novel insight that pharmacological intervention of autophagy using SW063058,a small molecule compound that can disrupt the interaction between BECN1 and BCL2,may reduce C9orf72 DPR-induced neurotoxicity.

the joint European Space Agency and Chinese Academy of Sciences Solar wind magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SmILE)mission will explore global dynamics of the magnetosphere under varying solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field conditions,and simultaneously monitor the auroral response of the Northern hemisphere *** these large-scale responses with medium and fine-scale measurements at a variety of cadences by additional ground-based and space-based instruments will enable a much greater scientific impact beyond the original goals of the SmILE ***,we describe current community efforts to prepare for SmILE,and the benefits and context various experiments that have explicitly expressed support for SmILE can offer.A dedicated group of international scientists representing many different experiment types and geographical locations,the Ground-based and Additional Science Working Group,is facilitating these *** include constructing an online SmILE Data Fusion Facility,the discussion of particular or special modes for experiments such as coherent and incoherent scatter radar,and the consideration of particular observing strategies and spacecraft *** anticipate growing interest and community engagement with the SmILE mission,and we welcome novel ideas and insights from the solar-terrestrial community.

In recent years,graphene field-effect-transistors(GFEts)have demonstrated an outstanding potential for terahertz(thz)photodetection due to their fast response and *** features are essential to enable emerging thz applications,including 6G wireless communications,quantum information,bioimaging and ***,the overall performance of these photodetectors may be utterly compromised by the impact of internal resistances presented in the device,so-called access or parasitic *** this work,we provide a detailed study of the influence of internal device resistances in the photoresponse of high-mobility dual-gate GFEt *** dual-gate architectures allow us to fine tune(decrease)the internal resistance of the device by an order of magnitude and consequently demonstrate an improved responsivity and noise-equivalent-power values of the photodetector,*** results can be well understood by a series resistance model,as shown by the excellent agreement found between the experimental data and theoretical *** findings are therefore relevant to understand and improve the overall performance of existing high-mobility graphene photodetectors.

Exploring trees Diversity and Ecological Value of mountain Forests in the Blue Nile Region of Sudan

We carried out this research at Abu-Gaddaf Natural Forest Reserve (ANFR) which is located east of Blue Nile River, in Blue Nile State, Sudan. It aims at exploring tree composition assessing their diversity indices, and ecological importance values. For survey of types and estimation of density of tree species in the forest, we randomly distributed 97 circular sample plots (0.1 hectare (ha)). In each sample plot we identified all trees to the species level, recorded their frequencies and computed species diversity and importance value indices (IVI). A total of 13 tree species, which belong to 12 genera and nine families, were identified in the tree layer of the forest. mean tree density in ANFR was 116 trees/ha, composed mainly of Boswellia papyrifera (Del.) hochst. (48), followed by Combretum hartmannianu (19) and Lannea fruticosa (18). Fabaceae was the most common family followed by Combretaceae and malvaceae. B. papyrifera Delile hochst was the most abundant while Acacia seyal was the least abundant species. Species richness (R = 1.71), evenness (E = 0.69), dominance (0.24) indices and Simpson’s Index of Diversity (D' = 0.76) suggest a moderate diversity, moderate numbers of individuals in each species and a moderate community stability. the research provides empirical results on diversity and ecological importance value of species, signifies the urging need to safeguard threatened species and to prioritize them for conservation, as well as the need to promote management of abundant species to provide multiple forest ecosystem services.

Forecasting of tropical cyclones ASANI(2022)and mOChA(2023)over the Bay of Bengal-real time challenges to forecasters

this study examines the track and intensity forecasts of two typical Bay of Bengal tropical cyclones(tC)ASANI and *** analysis of various Numerical Weather Prediction(NWP)model forecasts[ECmWF(European Centre for medium range Weather Forecast),NCEP(National Centers for Environmental Prediction),NCUm(National Centre for medium Range Weather Forecast-Uniﬁed model),ImD(India meteorological Department),hWRF(hurricane Weather Research and Forecasting)],mmE(multi-model Ensemble),SCIP(Statistical Cyclone Intensity Prediction)model,and OFCL(Ofﬁcial)forecasts shows that intensity forecasts of ASANI and track forecasts of mOChA were reasonably good,but there were large errors and wide variation in track forecasts of ASANI and in intensity forecasts of *** all model forecasts,the track forecast errors of ImD model and mmE were least in general for ASANI and mOChA ***,the landfall point forecast errors of ImD were least for ASANI,and the mmE and OFCL forecast errors were least for *** model is found to be consistently better for landfall time forecast for ASANI,and the errors of ECmWF,ImD and hWRF were least and of same order for *** intensity forecast errors of OFCL and SCIP were least for ASANI,and the forecast errors of hWRF,ImD,NCEP,SCIP and OFCL were comparable and least for mOChA up to 48 h forecast and hWRF errors were least thereafter in *** ECmWF model forecast errors for intensity were found to be highest for both the *** results also show that although there is signiﬁcant improvement of track forecasts and limited or no improvement of intensity forecast in previous decades but challenges still persists in real time forecasting of both track and intensity due to wide variation and inconsistency of model forecasts for different tC cases.

the ground-state mass excess of the t_(z)=−2 drip-line nucleus ^(22)Al is measured for the first time as 18103(10)keV using the newly-developed Bρ-defined isochronous mass spectrometry method at the cooler storage ring in *** new mass excess value allowed us to determine the excitation energies of the two low-lying 1+states in ^(22)Al with significantly reduced uncertainties of 51 *** compared to the analogue states in its mirror nucleus ^(22)F,the mirror energy differences of the two 1^(+)states in the ^(22)Al-^(22)F mirror pair are determined to be−625(51)keV and−330(51)*** excitation energies and mirror energy differences are used to test the state-of-the-art ab initio valence-space in-medium similarity renormalization group calculations with four sets of interactions derived from the chiral effective field *** mechanism leading to the large mirror energy differences is investigated and attributed to the occupation of theπs_(1/2) orbital.
