Calibration of a hysteretic model for glass fiber reinforced gypsum wall panels

Glass fi ber reinforced gypsum(GFRG) wall panels are prefabricated panels with hollow cores, originally developed in Australia and subsequently adopted by India and China for use in buildings. This paper discusses identifi cation and calibration of a suitable hysteretic model for GFRG wall panels fi lled with reinforced concrete. As considerable pinching was observed in the experimental results, a suitable hysteretic model with pinched hysteretic rule is used to conduct a series of quasi-static as inelastic hysteretic response analyses of GFRG panels with two different widths. The calibration of the pinching model parameters was carried out to approximately match the simulated and experimental responses up to 80% of the peak load in the post peak region. Interestingly, the same values of various parameters(energy dissipation and pinching related parameters) were obtained for all fi ve test specimens.

Thermal transport in porous media has stimulated substantial interest in engineering sciences due to increasing applications in filtration systems,porous bearings,porous layer insulation,biomechanics,geomechanics *** by such applications,in this article,a numerical study of entropy generation impacts on the heat and momentum transfer in time-dependent laminar incompressible boundary layer flow of a Casson viscoplastic fluid over a uniformly heated vertical cylinder embedded in a porous medium is ***’s law is used to simulate bulk drag effects at low Reynolds number for an isotropic,homogenous porous *** line visualization is also *** mathematical model is derived and normalized using appropriate transformation *** resulting non-linear time-dependent coupled governing equations with associated boundary conditions are solved via an implicit finite difference method which is efficient and unconditionally *** outcomes show that entropy generation and Bejan number are both elevated with increasing values of Darcy number,Casson fluid parameter,group parameter and Grashof *** analyze the heat transfer process in a two-dimensional domain,plotting heat lines provides an excellent approach in addition to streamlines and *** is remarked that as the Darcy number increases,the deviations of heat lines from the hot wall are reduced.

The advancement in technologies made the entire manufacturing system,to be operated with more efficient,flexible,user friendly,more productive and cost *** such a system to be focused for advancement is plasma cutting system,which has wider industrial *** are many researches pursuing at various area of plasma cutting technology,still the automated and optimized parameters value selection is *** work is aimed to eliminate the manual mode of feeding the input parameters for cutting *** present,cutting parameters are fed by referring the past cut data information or with the assistance of experienced *** cutting process parameters selections will have direct impact on the quality of the material being cut,and life of the *** paper is intended to automate the process parameters selection by developing the mathematical model with existing cutting process parameters *** this,three different approaches,multiple regression,multiple polynomial regression and AI technique,are selected and analyzed with the mathematical relations developed between the different cutting process *** accuracy and reliability of those methods are *** advantage and disadvantage of those methods for optimal setting conditions are *** appropriate method that can be preferred for automated and optimal settings are ***,the selected technique is checked for accuracy and reliability for the existing cut data.

Novel pharmaceutical rationale against human lymphatic filarial parasite:An oxidative premise

Objective:mandate from WHO has boosted up anti-filarial drug *** citrate(DEC) was not known for any direct effect on filarial ***,recent report proposed its direct apoptotic *** stress has been implicated in apoptotic impact.A study was designed to explore the possibility of oxidative rationale to be operative in the direct anti-filarial effect of ***:Various doses of DEC and potent oxidant H_2O_2 alone were used in vitro to check for the effects on *** microfilariae,followed by the use of DEC in combination with H_2O_*** of the oxidative impact of the drug was tested using the antioxidant,vitamin C and also lipid peroxidation levels in the post incubation culture supematants were ***:As expected,DEC alone failed to record any anti-filarial effect.H_2O_2 alone also failed to show any significant effect until a very high dose was ***,in combination significant anti-filarial effect was noticed,which allowed even 44%reduction in the dose of H_2O_*** significant lipid peroxidation was not *** C demonstrated 30%inhibitory ***:DEC and H_2O_2 combination being able to educe synergistic anti-filarial effect and inhibition of the same by vitamin C hinted towards covert oxidative component in the mechanism of *** implication of non-significant lipid peroxidation was addressed in the perspective of subtle oxidative nexus that seems to be operative in observed anti-filarial effect. Exploration of such rationale might lead to novel drug development.

The noble objectives of control are fulfilled through its applications which serve humanity. One such application is to process which are designed to produce potable water. Our lecture is aimed at highlighting the control problem in large multistage flash （mSF） desalination processes which are designed to produce potable water from the sea.
