Effects of synthesis parameters on the performance of crosslinked Co-polymers with clays for conformance control

Conformance control or water shut-off is a technique used to improve oil *** conformance control,polymers block high permeability water areas and redistribute water drive toward unswept oil *** this study,co-polymers(denoted ATP-PGV/Am-co-AmPS)were synthesized using acrylamide(Am)and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid(AmPS)as the monomers,polyethylene glycol(PEG)-200 and methylenebisacrylamide(mBA)as the crosslinkers,attapulgite(ATP)and bentonite(PGV)as the clay types,and ammonium persulfate(APS)as the initiator,in addition to paraffin oil and *** were synthesized using inverse emulsion polymerization with different concentrations of monomers,crosslinkers,and clays,and they were characterized using fourier-transform infrared(fTIR)spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEm)with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX).fTIR spectra of the samples confirmed the existence of sulfonate and hydroxyl groups,which are important for polymer ***-EDX images indicated that the morphology and elemental composition were different before and after swelling,confirming the occurrence of ***,samples were placed in sodium chloride solution(20,000 ppm)for 7 days to evaluate swelling at both room temperature and 90°*** analysis(TGA)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)were used to determine the thermal characteristics of the ***,rheological measurements were used to assess the deformation and rheological behavior of the *** results showed that after 1 day,good swelling without loss of mechanical strength was achieved with the composite synthesized using 10%Am,15%AmPS,6%PGV,and 10%ATP.

A 56-day feeding period was performed to investigate the possible impacts of dietary nano curcumin(0,50,100,150,and 200 ppm)on the growth,nutrient utilization,non-specific immune parameters,antioxidants in Nile tilapia under chronic low temperature(21.02±0.11◦C).fishes(n=225;Initial weight=4.39±0.08 g/fish)were randomly stocked at 15 fish/tank for five experimental groups in *** low-temperature circumstances,dietary curcumin in nano form showed no notable alteration in growth variable,nutrient efficiency,digestive enzymes efficiency,biometric indices,survival rates,and hematological ***,the serum of fishes with nano curcumin diets under low-temperature stress displayed higher total protein as well as lower glucose,cortisol,and total cholesterol compared with the control ***,fish fed nano curcumin diets displayed higher lysozyme and bactericidal activities compared to the control group and the best performance was found at dietary nano curcumin level of≥100 ***,groups fed the basal diet demonstrated the poorest antioxidant capacity,and the best superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GPx)existed in fish with nano curcumin diets while the best catalase(CAT)efficiency occurred at higher nano curcumin levels≥100 *** addition,higher counts of intestinal microbiota in terms of total bacterial count(TBC),total yeast and molds count(TYmC),and coliform were noticed in fish consumed the basal diet compared to groups fed on nano curcumin *** conclusion,incorporating nano curcumin at a level of≥100 mg/kg diet(particularly at 150 mg/kg)improved a non-specific immune response,antioxidant,and healthier gastrointestinal microbiota in Nile tilapia under chronic low-temperature stress.

Developing a mathematical assessment model for blasting patterns management: Sungun copper mine

Blasting is one of the most important operations in the mining projects that has effective role in the whole operation physically and economically. Unsuitable blasting pattern may lead to unwanted events such as poor fragmentation, back break and fly rock. multi attribute decision making(mADm) can be useful method for selecting the most appropriate blasting pattern among previously performed patterns. In this work, initially, from various already performed patterns, efficient and inefficient patterns are determined using data envelopment analysis(DEA). In the second step, after weighting impressive attributes using experts' opinion, elimination Et choice translating reality(ELECTRE) was used for ranking the efficient patterns and recognizing the most appropriate pattern in the Sungun Copper mine, Iran. According to the obtained results, blasting pattern with the hole diameter of 15.24 cm, burden of 3 m, spacing of 4 m and stemming of 3.2 m has selected as the best pattern and has selected for future operation.

Advances and challenges in the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into pancreatic β cells

Pluripotent stem cells(PSCs) are able to differentiate into several cell types, including pancreatic β cells. Differentiation of pancreatic β cells depends on certain transcription factors, which function in a coordinated way during pancreas development. The existing protocols for in vitro differentiation produce pancreatic β cells, which are not highly responsive to glucose stimulation except after their transplantation into immune-compromised mice and allowing several weeks for further differentiation to ensure the maturation of these cells in vivo. Thus, although the substantial improvement that has been made for the differentiation of induced PSCs and embryonic stem cells toward pancreatic β cells, several challenges still hindering their full generation. Here, we summarize recent advances in the differentiation of PSCs into pancreatic β cells and discuss the challenges facing their differentiation as well as the different applications of these potential PSC-derived β cells.

Effect of Nonlinear Convection on Stratified flow of Third Grade fluid with Revised fourier-fick Relations

Here thermal dependence conductivity and nonlinear convection features in third-grade liquid flow bounded by moving surface having varying thickness are formulated. Stagnation point flow is considered. Revised fourierfick relations and double stratification phenomena are utilized for modeling energy and concentration *** model of considered physical problem is achieved by implementing the idea of boundary layer theory. The acquired partial differential system is transformed into ordinary ones by employing relevant variables. The homotopic scheme yield convergent solutions of governing nonlinear expressions. Graphs are constructed for distinct values of physical constraints to elaborate the heat/mass transportation mechanisms.

During the past few decades,along with creation of new needs,large spaces of underground mines(especially abandoned mines)have found new applications,e.g.,storage of petroleum *** of empty spaces of these mines as hydrocarbons storage facilities decreases the costs of construction of underground spaces,which can be very expensive and *** the other hand,crude oil and other hydrocarbons nowadays are one of the most important factors affecting political and a major part of the domestic economy is achieved through ***,in this paper,a feasibility study has been performed on the application of underground salt mines near the city of Garmsar on the southern edge of Alborz mountains and on the north of the central desert of *** studies of documentaries,field observations and considering technical,geometrical and defensive criterion,the most suitable abandoned underground mine for reutilization as a storage facility is selected and presented.

An ocean forecasting system has been developed for the coastal area of Puerto Rico and the *** *** paper presents the development and validation of the Puerto Rico Operational Regional Ocean modeling System(PRO-ROmS)developed by the Caribbean Coastal Ocean Observing System(CARICOOS),which aims at improving currently available short-term forecasts of ocean currents for this region,and to resolve sub-mesoscale variability absent from the currently operational regional *** coastal ocean forecasting system is based on the Regional Ocean modeling System(ROmS),and provides a 3-day forecast of ocean currents,water levels,temperature and *** and lateral boundary conditions are derived from the *** Oceanographic Office(NAVOCEANO)operational AmSeas forecasting system,a 3.6-km resolution application of the regional Navy Coastal Ocean model(NCOm)that encompasses the Gulf of mexico and Caribbean *** conditions are interpolated from the Navy’s Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere mesoscale Prediction System(COAmPS)with the exception of surface stresses,which are computed from a 2-km application of the Weather Research and forecasting(WRf)model used by National Centers for Environmental Protection’s(NCEP)National Digital forecast Database(NDfD).Tidal variability is imposed using ROmS spectral forcing by specifying the harmonic phases and amplitudes from the TPXO global inverse tide solutions at the boundaries and sub-tidal conditions are imposed by filtering out high frequencies of barotropic variables from the lateral boundary conditions interpolated from *** results of sea surface height are validated with NOAA tide gauges,ocean currents are validated with Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers(ADCP)and High frequency Radars(HfR).Computed statistics show improvement of the ocean current forecast in PRO-ROmS compared to AmSeas,especially at higher frequencies dominated by the tides and in small channels where the bathymetry is

Kumaraswamy Inverted Topp–Leone Distribution with Applications to COVID-19 Data

In this paper, an attempt is made to discover the distributionof COVID-19 spread in different countries such as;Saudi Arabia, Italy,Argentina and Angola by specifying an optimal statistical distribution for analyzing the mortality rate of COVID-19. A new generalization of the recentlyinverted Topp Leone distribution, called Kumaraswamy inverted Topp–Leonedistribution, is proposed by combining the Kumaraswamy-G family and theinverted Topp–Leone distribution. We initially provide a linear representationof its density function. We give some of its structure properties, such as quantile function, median, moments, incomplete moments, Lorenz and Bonferronicurves, entropies measures and stress-strength reliability. Then, Bayesian andmaximum likelihood estimators for parameters of the Kumaraswamy invertedTopp–Leone distribution under Type-II censored sample are *** estimator is regarded using symmetric and asymmetric loss functions. As analytical solution is too hard, behaviours of estimates have beendone viz monte Carlo simulation study and some reasonable comparisonshave been presented. The outcomes of the simulation study confirmed theefficiencies of obtained estimates as well as yielded the superiority of Bayesianestimate under adequate priors compared to the maximum likelihood *** to COVID-19 in some countries showed that the new distributionis more appropriate than some other competitive models.

Review of surfactant-assisted chemical enhanced oil recovery for carbonate reservoirs: challenges and future perspectives

A significant fraction of the conventional oil reserves globally is in carbonate formations which contain a substantial amount of residual oil. Since primary and secondary recovery methods fail to yield above 20%-40%of original oil in place from these reserves, the need for enhanced oil recovery（EOR） techniques for incremental oil recovery has become imperative. With the challenges presented by the highly heterogeneous carbonate rocks,evaluation of tertiary-stage recovery techniques including chemical EOR（c EOR） has been a high priority for researchers and oil producers. In this review, the latest developments in the surfactant-based c EOR techniques applied in carbonate formations are discussed, contemplating the future direction of existing methodologies. In connection with this, the characteristics of heterogeneous carbonate reservoirs are outlined. Detailed discussion on surfactant-led oil recovery mechanisms and related processes, such as wettability alteration, interfacial tension reduction, microemulsion phase behavior, surfactant adsorption and mitigation, and foams and their applications is presented. Laboratory experiments, as well as field study data obtained using several surfactants, are also *** extensive discussion on the subject aims to help researchers and professionals in the field to understand the current situation and plan future enterprises accordingly.
