Globally,it is evident that glioblastoma multiforme(GBm)is an aggressive malignant cancer with a high mortality rate and no effective treatment *** is classified as the stage-four progression of a glioma tumor,and its diagnosis results in a shortened life *** options for GBm include chemotherapy,immunotherapy,surgical intervention,and conventional pharmacotherapy;however,at best,they extend the patient’s life by a maximum of 5 *** are considered incurable due to their high recurrence rate,despite various aggressive therapeutic approaches which can have many serious adverse ***,classified as endocannabinoids,offer a promising novel therapeutic approach for *** may enhance the apoptosis of GBm cells but have no effect on normal healthy neural *** promote atypical protein kinase C,deactivate fatty acid amide hydrolase enzymes,and activate transient receptor potential vanilloid 1(TRPV1)and TRPV2 to induce pro-apoptotic signaling pathways without increasing endogenous *** previous in vivo studies,endocannabinoids,chemically classified as amide formations of oleic and palmitic acids,have been shown to increase the pro-apoptotic activity of human cancer cells and inhibit cell migration and *** review focuses on the biological synthesis and pharmacology of endogenous cannabinoids for the enhancement of cancer cell apoptosis,which have potential as a novel therapy for GBm.

mine tailings, waste rock piles, acid mine drainage, industrial wastewater, and sewage sludge have contaminated a vast area of cultivable and fallow lands, with a consequence of deterioration of soil and water quality and watercourses due to the erosion of contaminated soils for absence of vegetative cover. High concentrations of toxic elements, organic contaminants, acidic soils, and harsh climatic conditions have made it difficult to re-establish vegetation and produce crops there. Recently, a significant body of work has focussed on the suitability and potentiality of biochar as a soil remediation tool that increases seed emergence, soil and crop productivity, above ground biomass, and vegetation cover on mine tailings, waste rock piles, and industrial and sewage waste- contaminated soils by increasing soil nutrients and water-holding capacity, amelioration of soil acidity, and stimulation of microbial diversity and functions. This review addresses： i） the functional properties of biochar, and microbial cycling of nutrients in soil; ii） bioremediation, especially phytoremediation of mine railings, industrial waste, sewage sludge, and contaminated soil using biochar; iii） impact of biochar on reduction of acid production, acid mine drainage treatment, and geochemical dynamics in mine railings; and iv） treatment of metal and organic contaminants in soils using biochar, and restoration of degraded land.

This work presents a modified formula for the fractal box counting *** method is based on the utilisation of the probability distribution formula in the fractal box *** purpose of this method is to use it for the discrimination of oil spill areas from the surrounding features,*** surface and look-alikes,using RADARSAT-1 SAR Wide beam mode(W1),Standard beam mode(S2)and Standard beam mode(S1)data acquisition under different wind *** results show that the new formula is able to discriminate between oil spills and look-alike *** results also illustrate that the new fractal formula identifies well the deficiency of oil spills in pairs of S2 ***,there are no significant differences between fractal values of look-alikes,low wind zone,and current shear features in different beam modes for acquisition of RADARSAT-1 SAR *** W1 mode data,however,show an error standard deviation of 0.002,thus performing a better discrimination of oil spills than the S1 and S2 mode data.

Rice(Oryza sativa)plants acquired excess photosynthates in the form of nonstructural carbohydrates(NSCs)in their stems and *** keen interest in rice NSC,the dynamics of NSC accumulation,translocation and re-accumulation have not yet been well ***1 and AG2 QTLs associated with flooding tolerance through catalyzing starch into soluble sugar in germinating *** we conducted three experiments,greenhouse and field to lay the groundwork for large-scale diversity studies on grain NSC and some agronomic traits under direct-seeded rice(DSR)system,using elite lines incorporating AG1,AG2 and AG1-AG2 QTLs into the popular varieties PSB Rc82 and Ciherang-Sub1 along with the donors Kho Hlan On(AG1)and ma-Zhan Red(AG2).In germinating seedlings,soluble sugars increased,while starch concentration decreased gradually especially in the tolerant checks and AG1-AG2 introgression lines under flooded *** sugar accumulation in stem started to increase from the vegetative stage and peaked at the panicle initiation stage then gradually decreased towards the maturity *** Sub1-AG lines had higher sugar and starch concentrations at different growth stages than other genotypes in wet season 2016 and dry season *** survival rate was positively correlated with the stem NSC at the early vegetative stage(21 days after sowing),and stem NSC was positively associated with plant height at different growth *** the tested seeding rate,the most suitable seeding rate,4 g/m2 with shallow burial depth(0.5 cm),resulted in better seedling establishment,relatively higher seedling vigor index and higher leaf area index under flooding in DSR *** of AG1-AG2 QTLs had no any negative impact on nonstructural carbohydrate,germination rate,and growth and biomass production.

Salinity is one of the abiotic stresses that limits the growth and productivity of many crops.A possible survival strategy for plant under saline conditions is to use compounds that could minimize the harmful effects of salt stress on the plant *** objective of the presented study was to investigate the effect of exogenous ascorbic acid(ASA)with or without gibberellic acid(GA3)on key growth and biochemical parameters in two petunia cultivars‘Prism Rose’and‘Prism White’under saline(150 mm NaCl)and non-saline in vitro *** cutting with an axillary buds were used as *** of 1 mm ascorbic acid with or without 0.05 mm gibberellic acid into the mS medium stimulated the length of shoots and the number of new shoots of‘Prism Rose’;whereas,it decreased the root length and the number of roots of both‘Prism Rose’and‘Prism White’under non-saline *** addition of ascorbic acid with or without gibberellic acid into the mS medium under saline condition,increased the length of plants and the number of new shoots,but did not affect their root number and *** treatments increased the proline content and lipid peroxidation which was indicated by the accumulation of malondialdehyde(mDA).The study revealed a correlation between chlorophylls a and b content and the leaf pigmentation intensity–parameter a*.Addition of 1 mm ascorbic acid with 0.05 mm gibberellic acid into the mS medium plays a protective role in salinity tolerance by improving the shoot growth and the development as well as increasing the activities of the antioxidant enzymes and other antioxidant substances.

In this paper,we prove the convergence of homotopy analysis method(HAm).We also apply the homotopy analysis method to obtain approximate analytical solutions of systems of the second kind Volterra integral *** HAm solutions contain an auxiliary parameter which provides a convenient way of controlling the convergence region of series *** is shown that the solutions obtained by the homotopy-perturbation method(HPm)are only special cases of the HAm *** examples are given to illustrate the efficiency and implementation of the method.
