Investment in silvicultural techniques is noticeably lacking,especially in breeding programs for non-conventional wood *** genotype×environment interaction(G×e)is essential to the development of breeding ***,this study aimed to estimate genetic diversity of and the effects of G×e interaction on two progeny tests of Cordia trichotoma,including the estimation of genetic gain and genetic diversity after *** the experiment,30 progenies of *** were tested at two sites with differing soil *** at breast height(1.30 m above soil surface,dbh-cm),total height,diameter at 30 cm from the soil,first branch height,and survival were all monitored for four *** deviance,best linear unbiased estimator,and harmonic mean of relative performance of genetic values(mHPRVG)were all calculated to predict breeding values,estimate genetic parameters,and analyze *** quantified traits varied significantly among progenies by soil type,with greatest variation recorded for genetic *** of the progenies led to predictions of genetic gain,ranging from 7.73 to 15.45%,for dbh at four years of *** calculated decrease in genetic diversity after selection showed that this parameter should be monitored in subsequent breeding cycles.G×e was low for all *** best-performing progenies proved most stable and best adapted to the different environmental conditions tested.

Limited genetic diversity among Plasmodium falciparium isolates using nested PCR in Jazan Area, Saudi Arabia

Objective: To establish molecular characterization of Plasmodium falciparum field isolates in Jazan Area of Saudi Arabia measured with highly polymorphic genetic marker, i.e. the merozoite surface protein 2(mSP 2).methods: Blood samples were collected from 128 clinically suspected patients attending both Jazan and Sabia hospitals, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Both hospitals reflected urban and rural settings respectively. Analysis of central polymorphic region of mSP 2(3D7 and FC27 allelic families) was performed using nested PCR for malaria ***: For mSP 2 allelic families of Plasmodium falciparum, 16 cases(53.3%) carried FC27 type and 14 cases(46.7%) carried 3D7 type, whereas no malaria cases harbored both allelic types. The present study showed that in urban area, 80% of FC27 fragments were 500 bp while in rural area it was 45.5%(P = 0.08). The FC27 400 bp allele was more prevalent in patients from rural than those from the urban area(P = 0.08). The most prevalent infecting 3D7 allele was the 3D7 300 bp in both areas. In the present study, there were no multiple ***: The limited genetic diversity which was observed in Jazan(considered as an endemic area) may be attributed to the small sample size or sustained malaria control program.

OCDmA SystemSignature Code Design Theory Via Finite Projective Geometry

Optical orthogonal code is the main signature code employed by optical CDmA system. Starting from modern mathematics theory, finite projective geometry and Galois theory, the essential connection between optical orthogonal code designing and finite geometry theory were discussed; find out the corresponding relationship between the parameter of OOC and that of finite geometry space. In this article, the systematic theory of OOC designing based on projective geometry is established in detail. The designing process and results of OOC on projective plane PG(2,q) and on m-dimension projective space are given respectively. Furthermore, the analytical theory for the corresponding relation between OOC with high cross-correlation and k-D manifold of projective space is set up. The OOC designing results given in this article have excellent performance, whose maximum cross-correlation is 1, and the cardinality reaches the Johnson upper bound, i.e. it realizes the optimization in both mUI and system capacity.

On the Solar Climate of the moon and the Resulting Surface Temperature Distribution

The solar climate of our moon is analyzed using the results of numerical simulations and the recently released data of the Diviner Lunar Radiometer experiment (DLRe) to assess (a) the resulting distribution of the surface temperature, (b) the related global mean surface temperature Ts>, and (c) the effective radiation temperature Te often considered as a proxy for Ts> of rocky planets and/or their natural satellites, where Te is based on the global radiation budget of the well-known “thought model” of the earth in the absence of its atmosphere. Because the moon consists of similar rocky material like the earth, it comes close to this thought model. However, the moon’s astronomical features (e.g., obliquity, angular velocity of rotation, position relative to the disc of the solar system) differ from that of the earth. Being tidally locked to the earth, the moon’s orbit around the Sun shows additional variation as compared to the earth’s orbit. Since the astronomical parameters affect the solar climate, we predicted the moon’s orbit coordinates both relative to the Sun and the earth for a period of 20 lunations starting may 24, 2009, 00:00 UT1 with the planetary and lunar ephemeris De430 of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the California Institute of Technology. The results revealed a mean heliocentric distance for the moon and earth of 1.00124279 AU and 1.00166376 AU, respectively. The mean geocentric distance of the moon was 384792 km. The synodic and draconic months deviated from their respective means in a range of -5.7 h to 6.9 h and ±3.4 h, respectively. The deviations of the anomalistic months from their mean range between -2.83 d and 0.97 d with the largest negative deviations occurring around the points of inflection in the curve that represents the departure of the synodic month from its mean. Detoxification efforts in Longnose Dace (Rhinichthys cataractae) exposed to municipal and Agricultural Inputs

ecological impacts of contaminants on population patterns in wild fish are impacted by many contaminants that readily enter aquatic systems. Responses to toxicants by individuals in lab studies generally do not predict population level consequences in natural systems. Trace levels of contaminants are present in all major rivers in southern Alberta, Canada, with concentrations higher down-stream of anthropogenic inputs like agricultural land-use and inputs of municipal wastewater effluents. Longnose dace (Rhinichthys cataractae) were used as a sentinel species to study field-based population-level responses to contaminants. We hypothesized that biomarker activity, triggered by contaminant exposure, should increase downstream of anthropogenic inputs in two southern Alberta rivers, with corresponding relations between biomarker activity and sex ratios, after accounting for age structure. Liver detoxification (ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase activity = eROD) measured at reference and exposed sites on each river differed significantly in only the Bow River system. Sex ratios varied more downstream of anthropogenic inputs than upstream, but the direction of sex ratio bias was inconsistent and temporally dynamic. Sex ratios correlated with liver detoxification in only the Bow River. Taken together, these results suggest that contaminants alter sex ratios in long-nose dace, but that there is variation in anthropogenic stressors among rivers.

Long-Term Passive Integrated Transponders (PIT) Tag Retention in Juvenile Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout

Two hundred and forty-three juvenile rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss ranging from 73 to 119 mm were implanted with 8, 9, or 10 mm Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tags, with tag retention and fish survival observed for 343 days. Similarly, 173 brown trout Salmo truttamily:Verdana;"> ranging from 71 to 86 mm were implanted with 8 or 10 mm PIT tags and observed for 293 days. Over the entire duration of the study, rainbow trout ejected only six tags, while no tags were ejected from the brown trout. All of the rainbow trout tag ejections occurred before 50 days post-tagging. There was no significant difference in the length or weight of fish that ejected tags compared to those that retained tags. No fish died during the trials. These results indicate that rainbow trout and brown trout at the sizes used in this study can be safely implanted with, and subsequently retain, up to 10 mm PIT tags for durations of nearly one year.

在随州陨石冲击熔脉中发现了一种磷酸盐新矿物,它是白磷钙石的高压多形,经国际矿物协会新矿物和矿物命名委员会批准,定名为涂氏磷钙石(Tuite)。该矿物属三方晶系,空间群为R-3m,a=5.258(1)?,c=18.727(3)?。一轴晶,正光性,ε=1.706(3),ω=1.701(4)。化学式为(Ca2.51mg0.29)2.80Na0.28(P1.01O4)2,简化式为Ca3(PO4)2。X射线粉晶衍射的强谱线有:2.628(100)、2.891(80)、1.945(47)、1.730(25)和1.567(22)。根据与其共生的其他高压相矿物形成的温压条件和人工合成实验的结果,推定涂氏磷钙石形成的压力为12～23GPa,温度为1400到2000℃。该新矿物以中国矿物岩石地球化学学会的创建人和首任会长涂光炽的姓氏命名。
