pON 1 （paraoxonase 1） has been proposed as an efficient catalytic bioscavenger to combat against Op （organophosphate） and CWNA （chemical warfare nerve agent） toxicity. Unlike stoichiometric bioscavengers such as butyrylcholinesterase, catalytic bioscavengers are cost effective with the advantage of eliminating all the Ops/CWNAs at low doses. Analysis of catalytic bioscavenger efficacy of pONI showed promising results by various group of researchers. Still, there are large numbers of grey areas which are not addressed so far. One of the major areas of interest is the pharmacokinetic analysis of infused pON 1 in multiple animal models. It is shown that previous studies in mice significantly increased half-life of pONI, while recent studies in guinea pigs from our group showed reduced half-life of pON1. Similar results were reported by other research groups in guinea pigs and non-human primates. The short half-life of exogenously administered pON1 in multiple animal models may be due to poor association of pON1 with its endogenous carrier, high density lipoprotein or lower doses of pON 1 or a reflection of species difference. These observations warrant the significance of thorough pharmacokinetic analysis of infused pON 1 and the development of alternative approaches for successful utility of pON 1 as an efficient medical countermeasure against Op/CWNA toxicity.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of ureteral access sheath(UAS)use and calibration change on stone-free rate and complications of retrograde intrarenal surgery(RIRS).methods:Data from 568 patients undergoing RIRS for kidney or upper ureteral stones were retrospectively ***,patients were compared after 1:1 propensity score matching,according to UAS usage during RIRS(UAS used[+]87 and UAS non-used[−]87 patients).Then all UAS+patients(n=481)were subdivided according to UAS calibration:9.5-11.5 Fr,10-12 Fr,11-13 Fr,and 13-15 *** outcomes of the study were the success and complications of ***:Stone-free rate of UAS+patients(86.2%)was significantly higher than UAS−patients(70.1%)after propensity score matching(p=0.01).Stone-free rate increased with higher caliber UAS(9.5-11.5 Fr:66.7%;10-12 Fr:87.0%;11-13 Fr:90.6%;13-15 Fr:100%;ppostoperative complications of UAS+patients(11.5%)were significantly lower than UAS−patients(27.6%)(p=0.01).Complications(8.7%)with 9.5-11.5 Fr UAS was lower than thicker UAS(17.2%)but was not statistically significant(p=0.09).UAS usage was an independent factor predicting stone-free status or peri-and post-operative complications(odds ratio[OR]3.654,95%confidence interval[CI]1.314-10.162;OR 4.443,95%CI 1.350-14.552;OR 4.107,95%CI 1.366-12.344,respectively).Conclusion:Use of UAS in RIRS may increase stone-free rates,which also increase with higher caliber *** usage may reduce complications;however,complications seemingly increase with higher UAS calibration.

Study of boundary layer characteristics during the landfalling of a Nisarga cyclone

One of the most important parameters in meteorology is the mean wind pro fi le in the tropical cyclone boundary layer. The vertical pro fi le of wind speed and wind direction were measured during the period of the Nisarga cyclone from may 31st, 2020, to June 5th, 2020, using the newly installed phased Array Doppler Sodar system at the Center for Space and Atmospheric Science (CSAS), Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur (16.74 degrees N, 74.37 degrees E; near India ' s western coast). Our analysis revealed that the maximum mean wind speed was 17 m/s on June 3, 2020, at 10:00 IST. It also shows the change in wind direction from southwest to southeast on June 2 and 3, 2020. Daily high-resolution reanalysis data in the domain, 0 - 25 degrees N, 65 - 110 degrees E, during the period from may 31st to June 5th, 2020, revealed the variation of the atmospheric pressure of the Nisarga cyclone from 1000 to 1008 hpa, sea surface temperature (SST) between 30 degrees C and 31 degrees C, outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) between 100 and 240 Wm-2 , wind speed between 3 and 15 m/s, and low values of vertical wind shear (VWS) were observed to the north of Nisarga track. These observations may provide more insights for the study of boundary layer turbulence during cyclonic activities. Long-term outcomes of urethral balloon dilation for anterior urethral stricture: A prospective cohort study

Objective:To prospectively follow up a cohort of anterior urethral stricture disease patients managed with balloon dilation(BD)for 3 years to evaluate the long-term outcomes and to study factors that contribute to ***:This study included men who had urethral BD for significant anterior urethral stricture disease between January 2017 and march *** about the patient age,stricture characteristics,and recurrence date were recorded,along with information on postoperative indwelling catheter use and operative ***,information about the self-calibration procedure was collected and where available,free flow(FF)measurements during the follow-up period were recorded and *** was defined as a lack of symptoms and acceptable FF rates(maximum flow rate>12 mL/s).Results:The final analysis was conducted on 187 *** mean follow-up period was 37 *** long-term overall success rate at the end of our study was 66.8%.Our recurrence rate was 7.4%at 12 months,24.7%at 24 months,and reached 33.2%at the end of our *** time to recurrence ranged from 91 days to 1635 days,with a mean of 670 *** stricture-free survival was significantly shorter with lengthy peno-bulbar(p=0.031)and multiple strictures(p=0.015),and in the group of patients who were not committed to self-calibration protocol(ppost-procedural self-calibration was the most important factor that may have decreased the incidence of recurrence(odds ratioZ5.85).Adjuvant self-calibration after BD not only reduced the recurrence rate from 85.4%in the non-self-calibration group to 15.1%in the self-calibration one(pmproved the overall stricture-free survival and FF parameters.

Facile synthesis of samarium and cerium doped double perovskite cobaltite with enhanced dielectric response

The investigation of Sm-Ce doping on structure,conduction,and dielectric response of Bi_(2)Ca_(2-2x)Sm_(x)CexCoO_(6)(x=0.000,0.025,0.050,0.075)(BCSCCO)are *** the specimens were synthesized by a facile synthesis technique named the co-precipitation route.X-ray diffraction(XRD)reveals that BCSCCO crystallizes into one phase with space group p21/*** crystallite size,dislocation density,lattice parameters,lattice strain,unit cell volume,and bulk density were determined using XRD *** structural properties of Bi_(2)Ca_(2)CoO_(6)were examined using calculations based on the density functional *** and experimental values discrepancy is less than 1%.A scanning electron microscope was used for performing a microstructural *** SEm images demonstrate the homogeneous distribution of grains with a range of sizes(0.054-0.090μm).The alternating current(ac)conductivity,dielectric permittivity,and tangent loss were also studied as a function of frequency(20 Hz-3 mHz)at different temperatures(100-500℃).All synthesized samples were examined using non-linear Debye's function to determine their spreading factor and relaxation *** specimen with the lowest crystallite size(∼23 nm)exhibits a high dielectric permittivity(∼3.80×10^(6)).The conduction mechanism was examined in the studied samples with the use of Jonscher's power *** power law indicates that the BCSCCO(x=0.000,0.025)follows correlated barrier hopping,whereas the x=0.050 and 0.075 compositions follow non-overlapping polaron *** studied specimen Bi_(2)Ca_(1.9)0Sm_(0.05)0Ce_(0.05)_(0)CoO_(6)with the highest density(∼5.65 g/cm^(3))displays a high electrical conductivity(∼46.1 S/cm).These findings correspond to those published for ceramics made from calcium cobaltite using solid-state reactions(5.0-26.0 S/cm).
