Recently, studies were initiated to investigate the metagenome, which represents the genomes of cultured and uncultured microbes, as a rich source for isolation of many novel genes. The meta-genomic approach originated from the molecular analysis of microbial communities, which revealed that the majority of microorganisms in nature were not cultivable by standard culturing techniques. Therefore, most microorganisms in nature have not been characterized. Although numerous methods have been reported for direct DNA isolation and purification from microorganisms in soil, the sample preparation procedures and experimental conditions used in different studies vary widely. Soils are therefore one of the most challenging environmental matrices from which to obtain microbial DNA that will support PCR. The Papaloapan River is the second largest river basin in méxico. For the climatic conditions of this region, there is great diversity in plants, animals and microorganisms. In the Papaloapan region different fruits are grown, however, the main crops are sugarcane and pineapple. In this work the extraction of DNA from soils of sugarcane cultivation was performed. We used PCR tests to assess the quality of DNA extracted from soil by amplifying the 16S rDNA gene. Changes in both protocols were performed;satisfactory results were obtained as to the quality of DNA and gene amplification. These results will allow continuing the metagenomic studies, such as sequencing, library construction and identification of enzymes cellulase and amylase activity. It is the first time these studies were performed in the Papaloapan region.

AIm： To determine the role of c-Jun N-terminal kinase （JNK） activity in ethanol-induced apoptosis and the modulation of this signaling cascade by S-Adenosylmethionine （Adomet）. mETHODS： Primary hepatocyte cultures were pretreated with 100 IJmol/l SP600125, a selective JNK inhibitor, 1 ml/l DmSO or 4 mmol/l Adomet and then exposed to 100 mmo/l ethanol. Hepatocyte apoptosis was determined by the TUNEl and DNA ladder assays. JNK activity and its inhibition by SP600125 and Adomet were determined by Western blot analysis of c-jun phosphorylation and Bid fragmentation. SP600125 and Adomet effects on the apoptotic signaling pathway were determined by Western blot analysis of cytochrome c release and pro-caspase 3 fragmentation. The Adomet effect on glutathione levels was measured by EIIman＇s method and reactive oxygen species （ROS） generation by cell cytometry. RESUlTS： The exposure of hepatocytes to ethanol induced JNK activation, c-jun phosphorylation, Bid fragmentation, cytochrome c release and pro-caspase 3 cleavage; these effects were diminished by SP600125, and caused a significant decrease in ethanol-induced apoptosis （P〈 0.05）. Adomet exerted an antioxidant effect maintaining glutathione levels and decreasing ROS generation, without a significant effect on JNK activity, and prevented cytochrome c release and pro-caspase 3 cleavage.CONClUSION： The JNK signaling cascade is a key component of the proapoptotic signaling pathway induced by ethanol. JNK activation may be independent from ROS generation, since Adomet which exerted antioxidant properties did not have a significant effect on JNK activity. JNK pathway modulator agents and Adomet may be components of promising therapies for alcoholic liver disease （AlD） treatment.

The biological properties of therapeutic peptides,such as their pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics,are correlated with their structure and aggregation ***,we studied the aggregation properties of a therapeutic peptide(CIGB-814),currently in phase 2 clinical trial,for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis over a wide range of concentrations(μm-mm).We applied spectroscopic techniques(fluorescence,circular dichro-ism,resonance,and dynamic light scattering),atomic force microscopy,and molecular dynamics simulations to determine the aggregation mechanism of *** found that the hierarchical aggregation of CIGB-814 at micromolar concentrations was initiated by the formation of peptide ***,the peptide oligomers trigger the nucleation and growth of peptide nanostructures(cac=123μm),ultimately leading to the fibrillization of CIGB-814(cac’=508μm).These results pave the way for a deeper understanding of the CIGB-814 therapeutic activity and may give important insights on its pharmacokinetics.

The sandstones of the late miocene–Pliocene Dibdibba Formation in the Najaf–Karbala Plateau and Basra were examined to determine their source rocks and origin. The rare earth elements(REE) and trace elements(Sc, Co, V, and Th) concentrations in these sandstones revealed that they likely derived from a single source. The steep light rare earth elements(lREE) and flat, heavy rare earth element(HREE) patterns, negative Eu anomaly, and high ΣREE contents in sandstones suggest its derivation from a suggests that a passive continental margin environment and originated from felsic source rocks. The average concentration of ΣREE is 93.5 ppm, which is lower than that of the average crustal compositions like Upper Continental Crust and Post Archean Australian Shale. The higher proportion of lREE compared to HREE implies that these sandstones were recycled and derived from a distal source. The Th/Co, Th/Sc, la/Sc, la/Co, Eu/Eu*and(la/lu)cn elemental ratios indicated that these late miocene–Pliocene sandstones were derived from felsic rocks located in the marginal region of the Arabian Shield.

This review summarizes the evidence about telemonitoring in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD). To give an overview of the advances performed, as well as the enablers and barriers which favoured/hindered telemonitoring implementation. We performed a literature search in Pub med, EmBASE, mEDlINE, Cochrane Database, Web of Science and Conference Proceedings. Titles and abstracts published up to September 2022 were screened for a set of inclusion criteria: telemonitoring intervention, IBD as the main disease, and a primary study performed. Ninety-seven reports were selected for full review. Finally, 20 were included for data extraction and critical appraisal. most studies used telemonitoring combined with tele-education, and programs evolved from home telemanagement systems towards web portals through m Health applications. Web systems demonstrated patients’ acceptance, improvement in quality of life, disease activity and knowledge, with a good cost-effectiveness profile in the short-term. Initially, telemonitoring was almost restricted to ulcerative colitis, but new patient reported outcome measures, home-based tests and mobile devices favoured its expansion to different patients’ categories. However, technological and knowledge advances led to legal, ethical, economical and logistic issues. Standardization of remote healthcare is necessary, to improve the interoperability of systems as well as to address liability concerns and users’ preferences. Telemonitoring IBD is well accepted and improves clinical outcomes at a lower cost in the short-term. Funders, policymakers, providers, and patients need to align their interests to overcome the emerging barriers for its full implementation.

This study focuses on the novel forecasting method(SutteARImA)and its application in predicting Infant mortality Rate data in *** undertakes a comparison of the most popular andwidely used four forecasting methods:ARImA,Neural Networks Time Series(NNAR),Holt-Winters,and *** data used were obtained from the website of the World *** data consisted of the annual infant mortality rate(per 1000 live births)from 1991 to *** determine a suitable and best method for predicting Infantmortality rate,the forecasting results of these four methods were compared based on the mean absolute percentage error(mAPE)and mean squared error(mSE).The results of the study showed that the accuracy level of SutteARImA method(mAPE:0.83%andmSE:0.046)in predicting Infantmortality rate in Indonesia was smaller than the other three forecasting methods,specifically the ARImA(0.2.2)with a mAPE of 1.21%and a mSE of 0.146;the NNAR with a mAPE of 7.95%and a mSE of 3.90;and the Holt-Winters with amAPE of 1.03%and amSE:of 0.083.

Objective:To evaluate differences in yield and composition of the essential oil and antioxidant contents in *** plants from localities in central region of ***:Samples were collected in Tamaulipas,mexico in the arid *** oil was obtained through steam distillation and analyzed using *** contents,antioxidant activities using ABTS and ferric reducing antioxidant power(FRAP) methods also were ***:A total of 21 compunds were identified in the essential oils;nevertheless,only Eucalyptol,1,4-methanocycloocta[d]pyridazine,1,4,4a,5,6,9,10,10a-octahydro-11,11-dimethyl-,(1à,4à,4aà,10aà) y Ethanone,1-(1,3-dimethyl-3-cyclohexen-1-yl) were detected in the three *** contents were registered in the sample from Padrón y Juárez with phenolic content of 33.85 mg GAE/g of dry material and antioxidant activities with ABTS 72.32% and with FRAP 21.33 mg GAE/g of dry *** differences were observed in essential oil,phenolics and antioxidants contents between ***:Results suggest that climatic differences and origin influence the phytochemicals in the medicinal plant ***,and thus,it is worth to consider such effects for industrial and medicinal purposes.
