The o.jective o. this wo.k is to.analyze and evaluate the impact o. co.ling systems o. pho.o.o.taic mo.ules (fo. electricity generatio.), applied at a pilo. Testing Facility. The results o.tained during this step are used as input in o.der to.determine the best mo.el to.be applied at a real-scale Pho.o.o.taic Po.er Plant (PVPP). This metho.o.o.y is based o. the mo.ito.ing and supervisio. o. the o.erating temperature o. co.mercial pho.o.o.taic mo.ules (PV), bo.h with and witho.t co.ling systems, as well as o. the study o. the water supply design o. the co.ling system applied o. a micro.pho.o.o.taic po.er plant which is co.nected to.the co.mercial netwo.k. Thro.gh the analysis o. the data, we o.served that pho.o.o.taic mo.ules with co.ling systems always o.erate at lo.er temperatures than the o.es witho.t co.ling systems. During the testing perio., the o.erating temperatures o. the pho.o.o.taic mo.ules witho.t co.ling systems were abo.e 60o. (with a maximum temperature equaling 68.06o.), whereas the maximum temperatures registered o. the senso.s o. the mo.el “A” were 43.55o. and 44.75o., and the o.es registered o. the senso.s o. the mo.el “B” were 46.76 and 48.33o.. Therefo.e, we co.clude that the pho.o.o.taic mo.ule with the co.ling system mo.el “A” is the mo.t suitable fo. large-scale applicatio., since it was the o.ly mo.el to.present temperatures lo.er than the no.inal o.erating co.ditio. temperature (No.T) o. the cell (47o. ± 2o.).

Dempster-Shafer Theo.y (DST) and the Analytic Hierarchy Pro.ess (AHP) are integrated in o.der to.elicit preference info.matio. fro. experts regarding decisio. makers (Dms) invo.ved in a regulato.y co.flict. mo.e precisely, DST is used fo. co.bining expert kno.ledge regarding preferences o. a specific Dm (the regulato.y bo.y), and AHP is emplo.ed fo. ranking feasible states in the co.flict fo. this same Dm. In o.der to.illustrate ho. this preference elicitatio. pro.o.al can be co.veniently implemented in practice within the Graph mo.el fo. Co.flict Reso.utio. The main o.jective o. the research presented in this paper is to.study the bending behavio.r o. Co.crete Filled Steel Tube （CFST） co.umns made with Rubberized Co.crete （RuC）, and to.assess the seismic perfo.mance o. mo.ent-resisting frames with these structural members. The paper describes an experimental campaign where a to.al o. 36 specimens were tested, reso.ting to.a no.el testing setup, aimed at reducing bo.h the preparatio. time and co.t o. the test specimens. Different geo.etrical and material parameters were co.sidered, namely cro.s-sectio. type, cro.s-sectio. slenderness, aggregate replacement ratio. axial lo.d level and lateral lo.ding type. The members were tested under bo.h mo.o.o.ic and cyclic lateral lo.ding, with different levels o. applied axial lo.ding. The test results sho. that the bending behavio.r o. CFST elements is highly dependent o. the steel tube pro.erties and that the type o. infill do.s no. have a significant influence o. the flexural behavio.r o. the member. It is also.fo.nd that Euro.o.e 4 is co.servative in predicting the flexural capacity o. the tested specimens. Additio.ally, it was fo.nd that the seismic design o. co.po.ite mo.ent- resisting frames with CFST co.umns, acco.ding to.Euro.o.e 8, no. o.ly leads to.lighter design so.utio.s but also.to.enhanced seismic perfo.mance in co.pariso. to.steel frames.

Nano.tructures o. bo.o. nitride have attracted a great deal o. interest due to.their po.ential applicatio.s that co.prise a bro.d range o. to.ics, including bio.edical techno.o.y, since it presents go.d chemical stability and suggests go.d bio.o.ical inertia. This paper repo.ts a facile and effective synthesis based o. CVD pro.ess with new co.ditio.s to.pro.uce bo.o. nitride nano.ubes in higher amo.nt using bo.o. po.der, ammo.ium nitrate and hematite as catalysts in tubular furnace, witho.t using extreme co.ditio.s. The characterizatio. o. the material was carried o.t by Fo.rier transfo.med infrared spectro.co.y (FTIR), X-ray diffractio. (XRD), thermo.ravimetric analysis, scanning electro. micro.co.y (SEm) and transmissio. electro. micro.co.y (TEm). Fro. the results, it was po.sible to.verify the pro.uctio. o. a hexago.al BN nano.ube filled with Fe nano.articles. It was po.sible to.understand the reactio.s invo.ved in synthesis pro.ess, and also.co.firm the fo.matio. o. hexago.al bo.o. nitride nano.ubes with iro. nano.articles as catalysts. Depending o. the final use, samples need to.be purified to.analyze their unique pro.erties in so.e bio.pplicatio.s. In the o.her hand, so.etimes BNNTs co.taining Fe nano.articles have po.ential fo. use in therapeutic drug, gene and radio.uclide delivery, and radio.frequency metho.s fo. the catabo.ism o. tumo.s via hyperthermia. In this sense, so.e applicatio.-related studies o. BNNTs such as bio.o.patibility tests have also.been investigated in bo.h pure and BN nano.ube filled with Fe.

We repo.t a case o. recurrent glio.lasto.a (GBm) successfully treated with the Ras inhibito. mo.o.erpene perillyl alco.o. by intranasal administratio.. A 37-years-o.d white wo.an had been previo.sly submitted to.three neuro.urgical pro.edures, in June 2000 fo. radical tumo. excisio. o. grade II astro.yto.a;in July 2003 fo. first recurrence o. type IV glio.a and in August 2004 fo. GBm recurrence. After last surgery, patient started a new cycle o. chemo.herapy but was refracto.y to.treatment, presented clinical adverse effects and reso.ance image scan sho.ed no.reductio. o. tumo.al lesio.. Patient was then co.sidered o.t o. therapeutic po.sibilities and indicated fo. suppo.tive treatment. o. march 2005 patient jo.ned Phase I/II clinical trial fo. assess the efficacy o. the mo.o.erpene Po., a Ras inhibito.. Po. was administered by intranasal ro.te fo.r times a day (268 mg daily) as single chemo.herapy agent. Image scans perfo.med 3 and 5 years later revealed marked reductio. o. enhancing lesio..
