The analysis of metals in aquatic organisms is of great importance due to the health problems they can cause to be consumed by human beings. In this study, the Laser-Induced Plasma Spectroscopy (LIBS) technique is evaluated as an alternative method to identify Cu in Crassostrea virginica oysters’ tissue. It focuses on the characterization of oysters caught a natural bank and the identification of different Cu concentrations. To carry out experimentation, oyster samples were collected in autumn (October 2017) and spring (may 2018) from San Andres Lagoon, Aldama, Tamaulipas. A single pulse Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm) was used, and tissue was contaminated with 0, 2, 10, 20, 50, and 100 μg/g of Cu. In tissue were identified atomic lines for Ca, Cr, mg, mn, Na, N, O, and H. However, the intensities of emission lines for autumn samples were greater than spring samples. Cu emission lines at 324.6, 327.1, 510.3, 515.1, and 521.5 nm were found for contaminated pills. The intensity of emission lines showed a linear increase with the concentration;whereby, they can be used as calibration curves to quantify Cu concentrations in oyster tissue.

Background: Cardiac complications after myocardial infarction are believed to be worse in the presence of comorbidities;we tested whether experimentally induced prolonged uremia exacer-bated myocardial necrosis in a rabbit preparation of ischemia-reperfusion injury. In addition, we examined if treatment with an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (Enalapril, ENA, 3 mg/Kg, IV) could reduce post-ischemic myocardial damage. methods: Prolonged uremia was induced by a two-stage subtotal nephrectomy and confirmed by marked increases in serum creatinine and urea levels;after 5 weeks, four groups of rabbits were exposed to 45-min acute coronary occlusion followed by 180-min reperfusion. In treated animals, ENA was administered 5-min before onset of coronary reperfusion. All data from uremic animals were compared with time-matched controls. Results: Cardiac hemodynamics was similar for all groups during the development of kidney failure;heart rate in uremic rabbits was significantly lower for the duration of ischemia-reperfusion. In this animal model, the absence of coronary collateral circulation provides a stable ischemic substrate for evaluation of cellular necrosis. Infarct size (expressed as percent risk zone size) was: control, 48 ± 16;uremia, 36 ± 5;control + ENA, 51 ± 19;and uremia + ENA, 41 ± 16;risk zone size was similar for all animals. Conclusion: The present findings are inconsistent with the view that post-ischemic cardiac injury is greater in animals with pre-existent uremia. In addition, we were unable to show a significant beneficial effect with an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor on infarct size in either control or uremic rabbits. It remains to be proven in animal models with comorbidities such as manifest kidney disease that ischemic tolerance can be substantially reduced by either pharmacologic or non-pharmacologic interventions.

In recent years,biometric sensors are applicable for identifying impor-tant individual information and accessing the control using various identiﬁers by including the characteristics like aﬁngerprint,palm print,iris recognition,and so ***,the precise identiﬁcation of human features is still physically chal-lenging in humans during their lifetime resulting in a variance in their appearance or *** response to these challenges,a novel multimodal Biometric Feature Extraction(mBFE)model is proposed to extract the features from the noisy sen-sor data using a modiﬁed Ranking-based Deep Convolution Neural Network(RDCNN).The proposed mBFE model enables the feature extraction from differ-ent biometric images that includes iris,palm print,and lip,where the images are preprocessed initially for further *** extracted features are validated after optimal extraction by the RDCNN by splitting the datasets to train the fea-ture extraction model and then testing the model with different sets of input *** simulation is performed in matlab to test the efﬁcacy of the modal over multi-modal datasets and the simulation result shows that the proposed meth-od achieves increased accuracy,precision,recall,and F1 score than the existing deep learning feature extraction *** performance improvement of the mBFE Algorithm technique in terms of accuracy,precision,recall,and F1 score is attained by 0.126%,0.152%,0.184%,and 0.38%with existing Back Propaga-tion Neural Network(BPNN),Human Identiﬁcation Using Wavelet Transform(HIUWT),Segmentation methodology for Non-cooperative Recognition(SmNR),Daugman Iris Localization Algorithm(DILA)feature extraction techni-ques respectively.

This report emphasizes a carcinoid- like pattern, a previously unrecognized feature in cutaneous sebaceous neoplasms. We report 7 patients with sebaceous tumors in which neoplastic cells were arranged in a trabecular and ribbon- like pattern or formed rosettes/pseudorosettes. The cases included 6 men and 1 woman, with their ages at the diagnosis ranging from 43 to 87 years (median age, 59). All patients presented with a solitary lesion. Locations were the scalp (n=6) and forearm (n=1). The carcinoid- like arrangement of neoplastic cells was the sole pattern in 4 cases, and in 3 cases the so- called labyrinthine/sinusoidal and/or rippled patterns were seen in addition. Sebaceous differentiation in the form of mature sebocytes varied from almost none to approximately 10% . Although the neoplasm appeared benign architecturally, the presence of cytologic atypia qualified 2 tumors as low- grade carcinomas. Four lesions represented sebaceomas, and in 1 case microscopic delineation between a carcinoma and sebaceoma was difficult. No neuroendocrine differentiation was demonstrated immunohistochemically, histochemically, and ultrastructurally. Electron microscopic examination performed in 1 case of carcinoma revealed lipid vacuoles in a minority of cells. There were no membrane- bound neuroendocrine granules. Rare cells contained peculiar large helioid inclusions. We conclude that the carcinoid- like pattern is another distinctive pattern indicative of sebaceous neoplasms. This pattern seems to be closely relatedtotherippledandlabyrinthine/sinusoidalpatterns,asexemplified by our cases, in which these arrangements sometimes occurred simultaneously.

Gene expression refers to the process in which the gene information isused in the functional gene product synthesis. They basically encode the proteinswhich in turn dictate the functionality of the cell. The first step in gene expressionstudy involves the clustering usage. This is due to the reason that biological networks are very complex and the genes volume increases the comprehending challenges along with the data interpretation which itself inhibit vagueness, noise andimprecision. For a biological system to function, the essential cellular moleculesmust interact with its surrounding including RNA, DNA, metabolites and proteins. Clustering methods will help to expose the structures and the patterns inthe original data for taking further decisions. The traditional clustering techniquesinvolve hierarchical, model based, partitioning, density based, grid based and softclustering methods. Though many of these methods provide a reliable output inclustering, they fail to incorporate huge data of gene expressions. Also, thereare statistical issues along with choosing the right method and the choice of dissimilarity matrix when dealing with gene expression data. We propose to use amodified clustering algorithm using representatives (m-CURE) in this workwhich is more robust to outliers as compared to K-means clustering and also ableto find clusters with size variances.

对因战争而逃离原居住地的人群实施结核病控制、保证病人能坚持长时间治疗是十分困难的。在Khao-I-Dang柬埔寨难民营选用全程直接监视下每日用药6个月治疗方法以解决这一问题。1981-1990年间共收入929名痰涂片阳性结核病人中,5％死亡,75.5％完成了治疗,98％以上坚持逐日用药者达到细菌学治愈,无细菌学失败,19.2％转移至其它难民营,保证在该地继续治疗,逃避治疗者仅0.4％。这些数据显示,对此难民营实施的结核病控制措施,在一个高流动人群中切断结核病传播环节而且大幅度降低不必要的发病与死亡,是十分有效的。
