Tholeiitic basalts in various stages of alteration were dredged from Late cretaceous volcanic rocks (60-67 ma) in the Hebrides Terrace seamount area in the Atlantic Ocean. These rocks are extrusive olivine basalts, including high- and low-Al basalts. High-Al basalts are depleted in mgO, caO, cr, sc, V, Sr, Zr and enriched in TiO-2, Na-2O, Nb, Rb as compared with low-Al basalts. Petrography and bulk-rock composition (major, trace and rare-earth elements) data defined clear tholeiitic suites displaying possible liquid lines of descent related to different degrees of crystal fractionation and partial melting. Isotopic dating of dredged samples gave the guyot an age of 60-67 ma, in support of the assumption that it was formed during the Late cretaceous.

In the past few decades,climatic changes led by environmental pollution,the emittance of greenhouse gases,and the emergence of brown energy utilization have led to global *** warming increases the Earth’s temperature,thereby causing severe effects on human and environmental conditions and threatening the livelihoods of millions of *** warming issues are the increase in global temperatures that lead to heat strokes and high-temperature-related diseases during the summer,causing the untimely death of thousands of *** forecast weather conditions,researchers have utilized machine learning algorithms,such as autoregressive integrated moving average,ensemble learning,and long short-term memory *** techniques have been widely used for the prediction of *** this paper,we present a swarm-based approach called cauchy particle swarm optimization(cPSO)to find the hyperparameters of the long shortterm memory(LSTm)*** hyperparameters were determined by minimizing the LSTm validationmean square error *** optimized hyperparameters of the LSTm were used to forecast the temperature of chennai *** proposed cPSO-LSTm model was tested on the openly available 25-year chennai temperature *** experimental evaluation on mATLABR2020a analyzed the root mean square error rate and mean absolute error to evaluate the forecasted *** proposed cPSO-LSTm outperforms the traditional LSTm algorithm by reducing its computational time to 25 min under 200 epochs and 150 hidden neurons during *** proposed hyperparameter-based LSTm can predict the temperature accurately by having a root mean square error(RmSE)value of 0.250 compared with the traditional LSTm of 0.35 RmSE.

In the present work,we used five different versions of the quark-meson coupling(Qmc)model to compute astrophysical quantities related to the GW170817 event and the neutron star cooling *** of the models are based on the original bag potential structure and three versions consider a harmonic oscillator potential to confine *** bag-like models also incorporate the pasta phase used to describe the inner crust of neutron *** a simple method studied in the present work,we show that the pasta phase does not play a significant ***,the Qmc model that satisfies the GW170817 constraints with the lowest slope of the symmetry energy exhibits a cooling profile compatible with observational data.

The application of designer biochar has the potential to impact soil enzyme activity and soil nitrogen ***,very little is known about the mechanisms responsible for biochar-enzyme-nitrogen interaction in highly weathered *** objective of our 3-year(2016-2018)field experiment was to evaluate the effectiveness of designer biochars(DB)in enhancing urease activity(UA),total nitrogen(TN),total inorganic nitrogen(TIN),and nitrogen uptake(NU)at different growth stages(GS)of corn in a highly weathered soil of southeastern coastal Plain region,*** treatments have consisted of the control,100%pine chips(100Pc),100%poultry litter(100PL),2:1 blend of Pc and PL(PcPL),100%raw switchgrass(Panicum vaginatum,L;100RSG),and 2:1 blend of Pc and RSG(PcRSG).All the designer biochar treatments were applied at the rate of 30,000 kg ha^(−1)to a Goldsboro loamy sand in *** activity,TN,TIN,and NU varied remarkably with DB(p≤0.0001)at different GS(p≤0.0001)of *** treated with 100PL had the greatest UA(28.18μg N g^(−1)h^(−1)),TN(0.087%),and TIN(14.53 mg kg^(−1))while the least UA,TN,and TIN of 20.55μg N g^(−1)h^(−1),0.063%,and 5.42 mg kg^(−1),respectively,were observed from the *** three-year TN average increase over the control was in the order:100PL(36.8%)>100RSG(25.8%)>PcRSG(25.3%)>PcPL(23.9%)>100Pc(7.1%).The greatest NU of corn of 140.4 kg N ha^(−1)was from soils treated with 100PL while the least amount of NU was from ***,our results showed promising significance for the treatment of highly weathered soils since the application of DB did enhance UA and improve TN and TIN in the soils.

A geochemical assessment of the fifty surface stream sediments from Ikorodu Southwest Nigeria was carried out to determine the level of contamination. The sediments were dried, disaggregated and sieved to \75 lm fraction for geochemical analysis, using the aqua-regia digestion technique and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. major elements showed the following trend Fe [ Al [ ca [ Na [ mg [ K [ P [ Ti and were below the average shale concentration, except for Na in one *** from factor and correlation analyses showed two groups of trace elements Ni, co, mn, U, Th, Sr, V, La, cr, Ba,sc, Ga, cs, Nb, Rb, Y,ce and mo, Pb, Zn, As, cd, Sb, Sn, Zr,which were from geogenic and anthropogenic sources, respectively. The enrichment factor showed that cd, Bi, Pt, mo and Ag were, for all samples, within background concentrations, except those of the Ogun River and the Owode Onirin, which showed significant enrichment of cd, Zn, cu,Pb and Ag, depletion to minimal enrichment for Bi, mo and moderate enrichment for Pt. The contamination degree ranged between 1.25 and 143.79. The highest value was found at Owode Onirin and the lowest, at Igbonla 7. The geoaccumulation index showed that all the stream sediments ranged between practically uncontaminated to moderately to highly contaminated—with Pb, Sn, Zn, cd, cu, cr, Zr and Ba. The potential ecological risk factor and environmental risk index(IER) showed that all of the samples were within the class of low to medium contamination risk, except samples from the Owode Onirin, which fell within the class of very high risk to extremely high risk respectively.

Sandstones belonging to the Oligocene Barail Group and miocene Surma Group of the mizoram Foreland Basin have been studied geochemically to constrain their provenances,tectonic setting,and other sedimentary processes(weathering and mineral sorting etc.).Based on their mineralogical compositions,these sandstones are classified as quartzarenite and *** sandstones of Barail and Surma Groups have similar contents of most of the major elements except for SiO2 and *** Barail sandstones are relatively more siliceous and less aluminous compared to the Surma *** and Surma sandstones were plotted in a singular array on different geochemical discrimination *** cIA and cIW values of the sandstones of Barail(69 and 77 respectively)and Surma Groups(68 and 77 respectively)suggest that the sandstones were derived from moderately weathered source *** the A-cN-K diagram,the studied samples plotted along a roughly singular trend that originates from granodiorite as well as Trans-Himalayan granitoids and also confined within the field of Siwalik ***・normalized REE patterns for the Surma and Barail sandstones are identical and are similar to upper continental crust,with moderate to high LREE enrichment and prominent negative Eu anomalies(*Eu/Eu for both Barail and Surma sandstone=0.69),indicating their derivation from a felsic magmatic *** values of,*Eu/Eu(LaN/LuN),La/sc,La/co,Th/sc,Th/co,and cr/Th ratios of Surma and Barail sandstones are also not significantly different,and the values are similar to finefractions derived from the weathering of felsic *** the K2O/Na2O versus SiO2,Th-sc-Zr/10 and Ti/Zr versus La/sc tectonic discrimination diagrams the studied samples of Barail and Surma sandstones plot within the fields of greywacke from continental island arcs and active continental *** geochemical characteristics of the studied sedimentary rocks and their similarity with the Siwalik foreland sedimen

Nowadays artificial neural networkS （ANNs） with strong ability have been applied widely for prediction of non- linear phenomenon. In this work an optimized ANN with 7 inputs that consist of temperature, pressure, critical temperature, critical pressure, density, molecular weight and acentric factor has been used for solubility predic- tion of three disperse dyes in supercritical carbon dioxide （sc-c02） and ethanol as co-solvent. It was shown how a multi-layer perceptron network can be trained to represent the solubility of disperse dyes in sc-c02. Numeric Sensitivity Analysis and Garson equation were utilized to find out the degree of effectiveness of different input variables on the efficiency of the proposed model. Results showed that our proposed ANN model has correlation coefficient, Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency coefficient and discrepancy ratio about 0.998, 0.992, and 1.053 respectively.

Land surface models and dynamic global vegetation models typically represent vegetation through coarse plant functional type groupings based on leaf form, phenology, and bioclimatic limits. Although these groupings were both feasible and functional for early model generations, in light of the pace at which our knowledge of functional ecology, ecosystem demographics, and vegetation-climate feedbacks has advanced and the ever growing demand for enhanced model performance, these groupings have become antiquated and are identified as a key source of model uncertainty. The newest wave of model development is centered on shifting the vegetation paradigm away from plant functional types(PFTs)and towards flexible trait-based representations. These models seek to improve errors in ecosystem fluxes that result from information loss due to over-aggregation of dissimilar species into the same functional class. We advocate the importance of the inclusion of plant hydraulic trait representation within the new paradigm through a framework of the whole-plant hydraulic strategy. Plant hydraulic strategy is known to play a critical role in the regulation of stomatal conductance and thus transpiration and latent heat flux. It is typical that coexisting plants employ opposing hydraulic strategies, and therefore have disparate patterns of water acquisition and use. Hydraulic traits are deterministic of drought resilience, response to disturbance, and other demographic processes. The addition of plant hydraulic properties in models may not only improve the simulation of carbon and water fluxes but also vegetation population distributions.
