The conversion of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))into high-value added energy fuels and chemicals(CO,formate,C_(2)H_(4),etc.)through electrochemical reduction(eCO_(2)R)is a promising avenue to sustainable ***,low selectivity,barren activity and poor stability of the electrodes hinder the large-scale application of eCO_(2)***,we reported a copper-indium-organic-framework(CuIn-mOF)based high-performance catalyst for eCO_(2)***-trochemical measurement results reveal that CuIn-mOF exhibits high Faradaic efficiency(FE)of CO and formate(300 mV,FE_(CO)=78.6%at-0.86 V ***,FE_(HCOO^(-))=48.4%at-1.16 V ***,respectively)in a broad range of current density(20.1–88.4 mA cm^(-2))with long-term stability(6 h)for eCO_(2)R in 0.5 m KHCO_(3)electrolyte ***,through anion-regulation engineering,SO_(4)^(2-)anion precursor is more beneficial for the formic acid generation than NO_(3)^(-)anion precursor;while for SO_(4)^(2-)anion precursor,Cu plays a positive regulating role in eCO_(2)R to CO compared to ***,the high performance in a home-made eCO_(2)R reactor derives benefit from enhanced intrinsic activity and charge re-distribution can be attributed to the formation of In-doped Cu layer.

The study investigates school travel to and from schools as perceived by parents in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Far fewer children are cycling or walking to school, and more and more are being driven to school by car. Traffic conditions, environmental factors, distance to school, road’s infrastructures, walking or biking with groups, schools efforts to educate children about active travel, and preferences of parents to accompany children to school were significantly perceived as important. The absence of active travel culture in the community was seen as a significant factor. Parent’s gender, child’s gender, child’s grade level, number of cars owned by the family, nationality and number of children were significantly associated with parents’ decisions to allow active travel to school. Results show that Abu Dhabi must establish aggressive strategic plans to promote active-commuting to school as the main mode of transportation. Current conditions in Abu Dhabi City are not conducive to active travel to school.

Cadmium (Cd) is a toxic heavy metal that enters the environment through various anthropogenic sources, and inhibits plant growth and development. Cadmium toxicity may result from disturbance in plant metabolism as a consequence of disturbance in the uptake and translocation of mineral nutrients. Plant nutrients and Cd compete for the same transporters and, therefore, presence of Cd results in mineral nutrients deficiency. The optimization of mineral nutrients under Cd stress could reduce Cd toxicity by greater availability at the transport site resulting in reduced accumulation of Cd, and could also alleviate Cd-induced toxic effects by enhancing biochemical reactions and physiological processes in plants. In the present review the role of plant macro, micro and beneficial elements in alleviating Cd stress in crop plants is discussed.

Tuberculosis （TB） occurring after a closed bone fracture in the patient with no history of TB and no evidence of TB infection at the time of initial fracture is a rare entity. We report one such case of a 48-year-old female, who presented in the emergency department with an olecranon fracture which was open reduced and inter- nally fixed with tension band wiring. Patient presented in the outpatient department with serosanguineous discharge at 3 weeks after surgery. The discharge was sent for culture and sensitivity tests, and the patient was managed by anti- biotics and daily dressings. There was wound dehiscence and the underlying implant was exposed, which was removed at 12 weeks after surgery. Repeat debridements and dressings continued for 6 months, but the discharge from the wound site continued. X-rays of the elbow performed at 6 months raised the suspicion of TB, which was confirmed by Ziel-Neelsen staining and histopathological examination of the debrided tissue. Following the confirmation, patient was put on antitubercular drugs. The patient responded to anti- tubercular drug therapy （ATT）, the purulent discharge from the wound ceased, and eventually the wound healed after 2 months of starting ATT.

This study focused on the encapsulation of vancomycin(VAN) into liposomes coated with a red blood cell membrane with a targeting ligand, daptomycin–polyethylene glycol–1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine, formed by conjugation of DAPT and Nhydroxysuccinimidyl-polyethylene glycol-1,*** formulation is capable of providing controlled and targeted drug delivery to the bacterial cytoplasm. We performed mALDI-TOF, NmR and FTIR analyses to confirm the conjugation of the targeting ligand via the formation of amide bonds. Approximately 45% of VAN could be loaded into the aqueous cores, whereas 90% DAPT was detected using UV–vis spectrophotometry. In comparison to free drugs, the formulations controlled the release of drugs for > 72 h. Additionally, as demonstrated using CLSm and flow cytometry, the resulting formulation was capable of evading detection by macrophage cells. In comparison to free drugs, red blood cell membrane–DAPT–VAN liposomes, DAPT liposomes, and VAN liposomes reduced the mIC and significantly increased bacterial permeability, resulting in > 80% bacterial death within 4 h. Cytotoxicity tests were performed in vitro and in vivo on mam.alian cells,in addition to hemolytic activity tests in human erythrocytes, wherein drugs loaded into the liposomes and RBCDVL exhibited low toxicity. Thus, the findings of this study provide insight about a dual antibiotic targeting strategy that utilizes liposomes and red blood cell membranes to deliver targeted drugs against mRSA.

BACKGROUND Since its discovery in Wuhan,China in December of 2019,the novel coronavirus has progressed to become one of the worst pandemics seen in the last 100 ***,there has been an increased interest in the hepatic manifestations of coronavirus disease 19(COVID-19).AIm To describe the demographic and clinical characteristics of COVID-19 positive patients and study the association between transaminitis and all-cause *** This is a descriptive retrospective cohort study of 130 consecutive patients with a positive COVID PCR test admitted between march 16,2020 to may 14,2020 at a tertiary care University-based medical *** Wilcoxon-rank sum test and paired t-test were used for comparing non-parametric and parametric continuous variables respectively and a multivariable logistic regression models to study the association between transaminitis and mortality using SAS version 9.4(SAS Institute,Cary,NC,United States).RESULTS Out of the 130 patients,73(56%)patients were found to have transaminitis and 57(44%)did *** compared to patients without transaminitis,the transaminitis group was found to have a higher median body mass index(30.2 kg/m2 vs 27.3 kg/m2,P=0.04).In the multivariate analysis those with transaminitis were found to have 3.4 times higher odds of dying as compared to those without transaminitis adjusting for gender,the Age-adjusted Charlson Comorbidity Index and admission to the intensive care unit(P=0.03).CONCLUSION Our study showed that transaminitis on admission was associated with severe clinical outcomes such as admission to the intensive care unit,need for mechanical ventilation,and mortality.
