We read with great interest the recently published article of Wong et al.(1).Through their study,the authors sought to evaluate the efficacy and safety of stereotactic body radiation therapy(SBRT)in patients presenting with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),awaiting liver transplantation(LT).This is the first prospective study to analyze SBRT as a bridging treatment before LT and compare it to other bridging therapies such as transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)and high intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU).

Spontaneous imbibition（SI）refers to displacement of non-wetting phase by wetting phase fluids in porous media which driven by capillary *** imbibition plays an important role in terms of increasing hydrocarbon recovery in low-permeability and tight *** this study,we derived a new analytical model of spontaneous imbibition height in low-permeability reservoir considering effective viscosity,surface roughness,slip and gravity effects in a single tortuous capillary ***,analytical solutions of imbibition height are derived in a single tortuous rough capillary tube with and without gravity ***,our analytical model closely matches with experimental results from literatures in typical low-permeability core ***,sensitivity studies are conducted to discuss the effect of surface fractal dimension,effective viscosity,contact angle,interfacial tension,pore sizes and slip length on imbibition height,*** results show that imbibition height inversely proportional to surface fractal dimension,effective viscosity,and contact angle on rough *** surface fractal dimension,effective viscosity and contact angle decrease imbibition height *** the contrary,the imbibition height is proportional to pore radius,IFT,and slip *** the slip effect results in underestimation of imbibition height in nanopore sizes,and insignificant changes are observed for micropore *** presented models have clear physical meaning in every parameter on the imbibition height performance.

Q-switched erbium doped fiber laser(EDFL)was passively realized using vanadium pentoxide(V_(2)O_(5))embedded into polyethylene glycol(PEG)film as saturable absorber(SA).The laser could successfully generate stable self-starting pulses when the V_(2)O_(5)film was placed in an EDFL *** operated at 1562.4 nm *** repetition rate can be varied from 91.7 kHz to 128.2 kHz while the pulse width shrank from 10.90μs to 7.81μs with rising pump power from 110.9 mW to 166.5 *** pulse energy recorded was 3.2 nJ at pump power of 166.5 *** results indicate that the saturable absorption of V_(2)O_(5)has promising nonlinear photonic applications especially in fiber laser development for 1.5-μm region.

Battery Energy Storage System(BESS)is one of the potential solutions to increase energy system flexibility,as BESS is well suited to solve many challenges in transmission and distribution *** of distribution network’s challenges,which affect network performance,are:(i)Load disconnection or technical constraints violation,which may happen during reconfiguration after fault,(ii)Unpredictable power generation change due to Photovoltaic(PV)penetration,(iii)Undesirable PV reverse power,and(iv)Low Load Factor(LF)which may affect electricity *** this paper,the BESS is used to support distribution networks in reconfiguration after a fault,increasing Photovoltaic(PV)penetration,cutting peak load,and loading valley *** paper presents a methodology for BESS optimal locations and sizing considering technical constraints during reconfiguration after a fault and PV power generation *** determining themaximumpower generation change due to PV,actual power registration of connected PV plants in South Cairo Electricity Distribution Company(SCEDC)was considered for a *** addition,the paper provides a procedure for distribution network operator to employ the proposed BESS to perform multi functions such as:the ability to absorb PV power surplus,cut peak load and fill load valley for improving network’s *** methodology is applied to a modified IEEE 37-node and a real network part consisting of 158 nodes in SCEDC *** simulation studies are performed using the DIgSILENT PowerFactory software andDPL programming *** mixed Integer Linear Programming optimization technique(mILP)in mATLAB is employed to choose the best locations and sizing of BESS.

Chemical modification of mWCNTs via oxidation followed by side wall functionalization using polyethylene glycol （PEG） and octadecylamine （ODA）, separately, was studied. Different characterization techniques such as FTIR spectrometery, thermogravimetric analysis （TGA）, scanning electron microscopy （SEm）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, and solubility in different solvents were performed for the oxidized mWCNTs, mWCNTs-PEG and mWCNTs-ODA. The characterization techniques proved the presence of the functional groups on the mWCNTs surface. Thermal gravimetric analysis revealed that nearly 16% （by weight） of the mWCNTs were functionalized with PEG and 39% （by weight） was functionalized with ODA.

Healthcare is one of the major applications of wireless systems that possess crucial issues. Specifically developing countries require a tow cost and reliable network with efficient protocols. The most challenging concern of Body Area Network （BAN） is heterogeneity, which requires fairness with reliability among all the network nodes. Solutions proposed for these networks either do not provide fair packet transmission or consume high energy and introduce delays. In this paper, we propose a cross layer protocol for healthcare applications meeting the requirements and challenges of the heterogeneous BAN. The protocol is also feasible for developing countries as it can be implemented over existing wireless infrastructure and provides high network reliability with energy efficiency through cooperation and adaptability. Results show that the proposed scheme improves reliability, throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio （PDR）, and energy consumption for scalable and mobile networks over conventional BAN protocols.

The age at which a woman enters natural menopause has also been associated to death from any cause. menopause is a natural component of aging that happens between the ages of 45 and 55, with the average menopausal age being 51. Previous research has revealed the age at which women reach menopause, but there is no evidence to support the link between menopause and longevity. We made a study in assessing the limits of maximum lifespan at menopausal age in our previous article. In this paper, we aim to predict the maximum lifespan of women at mean menopausal age.
