Background Liquid Argon(LAr)is used as a target material in several current and planned experiments related to dark matter direct searching and neutrino *** provides excellent pulse shape discrimination(PSD)capability,which could separate the electron recoil backgrounds from the expected nuclear recoil *** the next-generation photosensors,silicon photon multiplier(SiPm)is expected to replace traditional photon multiplier *** The purpose of this paper is to compare the PSD capability of a LAr detector between using SiPms as photosensors and using PmTs as *** The PSD capability of a LAr detector is determined through the prompt fraction method,which relies on the analysis of output *** pulses are generated using monte Carlo simulation,incorporating real single photoelectron pulses obtained from a PmT or a *** Three kinds of SiPms and one kind of PmT have been used to compare the PSD capability of a LAr *** use of J-60035 SiPm results in a better PSD capability compared to the use of PmT as a photosensor,while using the other two kinds of SiPm deteriorates the PSD *** SiPm is a promising photosensor candidate for a LAr *** better energy resolution could help to improve its PSD capability,while the higher probabilities of cross-talk and after-pulse degrade its PSD ***,after-pulse has a more significant impact compared to cross-talk because after-pulse influences the energy distribution within the time window,while cross-talk primarily affects the energy resolution of the detector.

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-metal batteries （AZmBs） are promising candidates for large-scale energy storage systems due to their low cost and high ***,their performance and sustainability are significantly hindered by the sluggish desolvation kinetics at the electrode/electrolyte interface and the corresponding hydrogen evolution reaction where active water molecules tightly participate in the Zn（H2O）62+solvation ***,learnt from self-generated solid electrolyte interphase （SEI） in anodes,the dielectric but ion-conductive zinc niobate nanoparticles artificial layer is constructed on metallic Zn surface （ZNB@Zn）,acting as a rapid desolvation *** zincophilic and dielectric-conductive properties of ZNB layer accelerate interfacial desolvation/diffusion and suppress surface corrosion or dendrite formation,achieving uniform Zn plating/stripping behavior,as confirmed by electronic/optical microscopies and interface spectroscopical measurements together with theoretical ***,the as-prepared ZNB@Zn electrode exhibits excellent cycling stability of over 2000 h and robust reversibility （99.54%） even under high current density and depth of discharge ***,the assembled ZNB@Zn-based full cell displays high capacity-retention rate of 80.21%after 3000 cycles at 5 A g-1and outstanding rate performance up to 10 A *** large-areal pouch cell is stabilized for hundreds of cycles,highlighting the bright prospects of the dielectric but ion-conductive layer in further application of AZmBs.

One objective of developing machine learning(mL)-based material models is to integrate them with well-established numerical methods to solve boundary value problems(BVPs).In the family of mL models,recurrent neural networks(RNNs)have been extensively applied to capture history-dependent constitutive responses of granular materials,but these multiple-step-based neural networks are neither sufficiently efficient nor aligned with the standard finite element method(FEm).Single-step-based neural networks like the multi-layer perceptron(mLP)are an alternative to bypass the above issues but have to introduce some internal variables to encode complex loading *** this work,one novel Frobenius norm-based internal variable,together with the Fourier layer and residual architectureenhanced mLP model,is crafted to replicate the history-dependent constitutive features of representative volume element(RVE)for granular *** obtained mL models are then seamlessly embedded into the FEm to solve the BVP of a biaxial compression case and a rigid strip footing *** obtained solutions are comparable to results from the FEm-DEm multiscale modelling but achieve significantly improved *** results demonstrate the applicability of the proposed internal variable in enabling mLP to capture highly nonlinear constitutive responses of granular materials.

This paper proposes a dynamic-decision-based realtime dispatch method to coordinate the economic objective with multiple types of security dispatch objectives while reducing constraint violations in the process of adjusting the system operation point to the *** each decision moment,the following tasks are executed in turn:①locally linearizing the system model at the current operation point with the online model identification by using measurements;②narrowing down the gaps between unsatisfied security requirements and their security thresholds in order of priority;③minimizing the generation cost;④minimizing the security indicators within their security *** with the existing real-time dispatch strategies,the proposed method can adjust the deviations caused by unpredictable power flow fluctuations,avoid dispatch bias caused by model parameter errors,and reduce the constraint violations in the dispatch decision *** effectiveness of the proposed method is verified with the IEEE 39-bus system.

Grain refinement mechanism of mg-3Sn-1mn-1La alloy during accumulative hot rolling

We elucidate the effect of lanthanum(La) on the grain refinement of mg-3 Sn-1 mn alloy during accumulative hot rolling. The lath-shaped mg_(2) Sn phase in the mg-3 Sn-1 mn alloy is firstly broken and spheroidized,and then the size increases and coarsens with the increase of rolling reduction, most of mg_(2) Sn move from grain boundary to grain and are homogeneously distributed within the matrix. However, the plate-shaped mg Sn La compound in mg-3 Sn-1 mn-1 La gradually becomes fine, spheroidized, and homogeneously distributed. The grain sizes of mg-3 Sn-1 mn and mg-3 Sn-1 mn-1 La alloys become fine through dynamic recrystallization(DRX), though the grain refinement of mg-3 Sn-1 mn-1 La alloy is better compared to the mg-3 Sn-1 mn alloy. A large number of uniformly distributed spherical mg Sn La compounds pin the dislocations, thus increasing the dislocation density. Hence, the driving force for DRX increases and promotes the formation of deformation bands and more twins, providing the sites for DRX nucleation and growth.

Heavy metal concentrations in plants and soils at roadside locations and parks of urban guangzhou

Levels ofCu, Ni, Zn, Pb and Cr were measured in soils and trees in urban guangzhou, China. Tree and soil samples were collected from the roadside, urban parks and a university campus. mean concentrations of Cu, Ni, Zn, Pb and Cr in tree leaves were 28.3, 7.7, 142.1, 23.4, and 195.1 mg/kg respectively. In a comparison of heavy metal concentrations in tree leaves between roads and park locations, only Pb concentrations were significantly higher in the former. Heavy metal concentrations were lower in the roots compared to leaves. It indicated that heavy metal pollution of trees is mainly from air pollution, For all top soil samples the mean concentrations of Cu, Ni, Zn, Pb and Cr were 24.3, 17.3, 121.5, 63.9 and 88.7 mg/kg, respectively. Heavy metal concentrations in roadside soils were higher and their coefficient of variation was higher than those in urban parks. Comparing heavy metal concentrations in trees and soil between urban guangzhou and Hainan Island, China, Cu, Ni, Zn, Pb and Cr levels in soils and plants in urban guangzhou were evidently affected by the human impact. However the heavy metal content in the soil compared to some international standards do not give cause for concern. Some observations on the implications of the data for environmental monitoring are made.
