Effects of bismuth on structural and dielectric properties of cobalt-cadmium spinel ferrites fabricated via micro-emulsion route

Spinel ferrites have a significant role in high-tech *** the present work nano-crystalline ferrites having general formula Co0.5Cd0.5BixFe2-xO4 with(x=0.0,0.05,0.1,0.15,0.2,and 0.25)are synthesized via micro-emulsion *** x-ray diffraction(XRD)studies discover the FCC spinel *** size is calculated in a range of 11 nm-15 *** parameter calculations are reduced due to its substitution which leads to the exchange of large ionic radius of Fe^3+for small ionic radius of Bi^3+.The x-ray density is analyzed to increase with *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)is performed to analyze absorption band *** two absorption bands are observed in a range of 400 cm^-1-600 cm^-1,and they are the characteristic feature of spinel ***-gravimetric analysis(TGA)reveals the total weight loss of nearly 1.98%.Dielectric analysis is carried out by impedance analyzer in a frequency span from 1 mHz to 3 GHz by using the maxwell wagner *** studies reveal the decrease of dielectric *** alternating current(AC)conductivity exhibits a plane behavior in a low frequency range and it increases with the applied frequency *** is attributed to the grain effects in a high frequency range or may be due to the reduction of *** and imaginary part of impedance show the decreasing trend which corresponds to the grain boundary *** imaginary modulus shows the occurrence of peak that helps to understand the interfacial ***-Cole graph shows a single semicircle which confirms that the conduction mechanism is due to the grain boundaries at low *** studies reveal the applicability of these ferrites in high frequency equipment,microwave applications,high storage media,and semiconductor devices.

Buffer standards for the physiological pH of the zwitterionic buffer 3-[<i>N</i>-tris(hydroxymethyl)methylamino]-2-hydroxypropanesulfonic Acid (TAPSO) From (278.15 to 328.15) K

The second dissociation constant, pk2, and related thermodynamic quantities for TAPSO have been previously determined and reported from the temperatures (278.15 to 328.15) K. In the current study there are five buffer solutions without NaCl and five buffer solutions with NaCl present which yield an ionic strength (I = 0.16 mol·kg-1) similar to that of blood plasma. These buffer solutions have been evaluated in the temperature range of (278.15 to 328.15) K using the extended Debye-Hückel equation, due to the limitations of the Bates-Guggenheim convention such that it is only valid when I -1. The liquid junction potential (Ej) values between the TAPSO solution and the saturated KCl calomel electrode solution have been estimated at (298.15 and 310.15) K using a flowing junction cell measurement. The previously mentioned Ej values have been used in determining the operational pH values at (298.15 and 310.15) K. These TAPSO buffer solutions are recommended as reference solutions for pH measurements in saline media with an ionic strength of I = 0.16 mol·kg-1.

The product of the ∧0/b （-B/0） differential production cross-section and the branching fraction of the decay ∧0/b→ J/ψ pk-（-B/0→ J/ψ-K＊（892）0）is measured as a function of the beauty hadron transverse momentum, PT, and rapidity, y. The kinematic region of the measurements is pT〈20 GeV/c and 2.0 〈g〈*** measurements use a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3fb-1 collected by the LHCb detector in pp collisions at centre-of-mass energies √s=7 TeV in 2011 and √s=8 TeV in 2012. Based on previous LHCb results of the fragmentation fraction ratio,f∧0/b/fd,the branching fraction of the decay ∧0/b→ J/ψ pk-is measured to be B（∧0/b→ J/ψ pk-）=（3.17±0.04±0.07±0.34＋0.45/-0.28）×10-4,where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, the third is due to the uncertainty on the branching fraction of the decay -B/0 →J/ψ-K＊（892）0,and the fourth is due to the knowledge of f∧0/b/*** sum of the asymmetries in the production and decay between ∧0/b and ∧0/bis also measured as a function of PT and *** previously published branching fraction of ∧0/b→ J/ψ pπ-,relative to that of ∧0/b→ J/ψ pk-,is updated. The branching fractions of ∧0/b→P＋c（→ J/ψp）K-are determined.

目的:使用前段光学相干断层扫描(AS-OCT)评估在穿透性角膜移植术(pk)后角膜上皮厚度的变化,并确定上皮厚度在移植排斥反应早期检测中的作用。方法:前瞻性比较观察研究。共纳入20例20眼接受穿透性角膜移植术患者做为研究组,对照组16例16眼。术后2wk、1mo和3mo使用AS-OCT测量角膜厚度。术后3mo,与对照组排斥反应和上皮厚度及分布参数进行比较。结果:术后1mo,研究组的上、下、最大和最小上皮厚度值均显著低于术后2wk(P=0.0004,0.0001,0.0001,0.04),术后3mo与1mo相比无显著差异(P=0.4,0.1,0.8)。与术后2wk相比,1mo时上皮厚度的降低明显高于基质厚度(P=0.04)。角膜上皮厚度变化显示,研究组和对照组的角膜上皮厚度分布模式相似,出现明显的角膜水肿。但是,对照组中央角膜厚度(CCT)明显更高。结论:角膜移植术后移植物上皮重塑的定量评估显示,早期变化有助于角膜移植物厚度的显著改善。角膜上皮厚度和分布模式的变化可作为角膜移植排斥反应的指标。

A Rare Association of Giant Cell Arteritis with Recurrent Corneal Ulcer

We report a rare case of association of temporal arteritis with recurrent central corneal ulcer. A 91-year-old male with a remote history of clinically diagnosed giant cell arteritis (GCA) and penetrating keratoplasty (pk) for corneal edema in 1990’s in the left eye presented with irritation and severe dry eye. He progressively developed central corneal ulcer regardless of treatment with aggressive lubrication and patching. The clinical course, blood tests and temporal artery biopsy results yielded the diagnosis of recurrent GCA. The clinical course improved after starting oral steroids. The case report illustrates the importance of ruling out GCA in patients with recurrent corneal ulcers and history of GCA. It also highlights the significance of shared understanding between primary care physicians and specialists to handle common and chronic diseases to make efficient diagnoses and plan treatment regimens. This is the first plausible case of reported GCA association with central corneal ulcer in the United States.

Glycerol from biodiesel production can be an important industrial feedstock for chemical commodities as it can be used in the food,cosmetic,pharmaceutical and tobacco ***,crude glycerol derived from biodiesel production has a low value because of *** purification of this glycerol into a high grade involves high costs and is not economically feasible for small and medium size *** glycerol conversion into chlorohydrins was studied using new homogeneous catalysts and hydrochloric acid as chlorination *** is an interesting alternative route to epichlorohydrin and then to epoxy *** behavior of two series of homologous catalysts,glycolic acid series(glycolic acid,di-glycolic acid and thio-glycolic acid) and amminoacid series(glutamic acid,aspartic acid and cysteine),were investigated for their activity and *** acids were more active than *** pk_a values had a strong influence on selectivity(mono-chlorohydrins/di-chlorohydrins) for the amminoacid series,which was not observed for the glycolic acids.A kinetic model and reaction mechanism developed in a previous work were used for interpreting the kinetic runs.
