＜正＞This paper proposes a theoretical model on the prediction of creep deformation of precipitation-hardening alloys. Theoretical calculations were carried out on the creep rate to four types of alloy states: with stable dispersion particles （P）, with dissolving precipitation-particles （Pd）, with dissolving and coarsening particles （Pdc） and without any particles （m） by using this model. The influence of dissolving and coarsening of particles was significant. The proposed model was applied to creep deformation of an Al-1.03 mass % Si alloy with Ostwald ripening of Si precipitates. The evaluation was carried out on the time dependence of strain, threshold stress and dispersion parameters of Si precipitates. The effects of temperature raging from 0.58Tm to 0.70Tm （Tm: the absolute melting temperature of the matrix metal） and stress raging from 3.5×1014E to 1.0×10-2E （E: the Young’s modulus of the matrix metal） on the creep deformation were examined theoretically and experimentally. The theoretical results were in good agreement with experimental ones.

Predicting the spatial distribution of soil moisture is an important hydrological question. We measured the spatial distribution of surface soil moisture (upper 6 cm) using an Amplitude Domain Reflectometry sensor at the plot scale (2 × 2 m) and small catchment scale (0.84 ha) in a temperate forest. The spatial variation of soil water content was higher during dry conditions than that during wet conditions. Results indicated 3.1 samples at the plot scale were sufficient to estimate mean soil water content when the precision was 0.1. Soil water content increased with increasing topographic index (TI) and soil-topographic index (STI) at the small catchment scale. The correlation between soil water content and TI was higher than that between soil water content and STI. This suggests that topography is more important for estimating surface soil moisture than soil depth as formation of surface soil moisture occurs at ≤6 cm.

The mdx mouse is a model of Duchenne muscular dystrophy(DmD),a fatal progressive muscle wasting disease caused by dystrophin deficiency,and is used most widely in preclinical *** with dystrophin deficiency,however,show milder muscle strength phenotypes than *** human,the introduction of a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)kit revealed a more than 700-fold increase in titin N-terminal fragment levels in the urine of pediatric patients with ***,the urinary titin level declines with aging,reflecting progression of muscle *** mouse,development of a highly sensitive ELISA kit has been ***,a sandwich ELISA kit to measure titin N-terminal fragment levels in mouse urine was *** developed kit showed good linearity,recovery,and repeatability in measuring recombinant or natural mouse titin N-terminal fragment *** titin N-terminal fragment concentration in the urine of mdx mice was more than 500-fold higher than that of normal *** titin was further analyzed by extending the collection of urine samples to both young(3-11 weeks old)and aged(56-58 weeks old)mdx *** concentration in the young group was significantly higher than that in the aged *** was concluded that muscle protein breakdown is active and persistent in mdx mice even though the muscle phenotype is *** results provide an opportunity to develop DmD treatments that aim to alleviate muscle protein breakdown by monitoring urinary titin levels.

Chitosan Sub-micron Particles Prepared Using Sulfate Ion Salt as Bacteriostatic materials in Neutral pH Condition

In this paper, the newly developed ion exchange phase separation method to create chitosan sub-micron particles is introduced: 1) chitosan was dissolved in a lactic acid aqueous solution. 2) the obtained chitosan solution was added stepwise in a sodium sulfate aqueous solution and cooled down to 5℃ to become slightly turbid through agglutination. 3) desalinating and deacidifying of the mixture was carried out by a dialyzing tube method. IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis indicated that the agglutination of chitosan was induced by crosslinking effect with an electrostatic interaction between sulfate anions and amino groups in the glucosamine unit although large excess of Na2SO4 caused undesirable further agglutination of the resultant chitosan particles. As a result, the proper amount of Na2SO4 was approximately 1.0 - 10.0 equivalent for the amino group to create the chitosan particles with a sub-micron size. In addition, we investigated an antibacterial activity test for Escherichia coli of the obtained chitosan particles. The significant antibacterial activity was observed in incubation even at neutral pH condition while the chitosan microbeads (size: ca 200 ∫m) prepared by the conventional method and chitosan granules (size: ca 600 ∫m) as starting materials showed almost no antibacterial activity in the same condition.

In present study, a cultivation experiment was performed on modified substrates for the Flammulina velutipes, which contains 0% (control group), 4.8% (S group), 9.6% (m group) and 14.4% (L group) of fermented apple pomace (FAP) substituting corncob on a dry matter basis. The pH of all substrates was maintained at the required level, although the pH of FAP was low (3.9). Addition of FAP affected the mycelial growth and full colonizing in test groups to a minor degree, but extended the period by one day in L group. The initiations of fruit bodies were extended in all FAP groups by one day, but there was a little difference in terms of total cultivation time duration among groups due to FAP groups showing raise of growth rates in later phase. The effect of FAP on fruit bodies yield was observed clearly: the yield has the positive correlation with increasing levels of FAP. Fruit bodies showed little difference concerning Brix degree, proximate composition, and organic acid profile among groups. In conclusion, it is suggested that FAP can be used as an alternative to corncobs as a F. velutipes substrates raw material.
