manufacturing and services constitute two of the five sectors of every country＇s economy;depending on the maturity of the economy,they are-in terms of employment-typically the two largest *** outputs or products of an economy can also be divided into goods products（due to manufacturing,construction,agriculture and mining） and services *** date,the goods and services products have,for the most part,been mass produced;it is the premise of this paper that recent technological advances-including flexible manufacturing,cloud computing,nanotechnology and smart sensing-can better enable the transformation from mass production to mass *** regard mass customization as the simultaneous and real time management of supply and demand chains,based on a taxonomy that can be defined in terms of its underpinning component and management *** a components perspective,we first consider the value chain of supplier,manufacturer,assembler,retailer,and customer,and then develop a consistent set of definitions for supply and demand chains based on the location of the customer order penetration *** a management perspective,we classify the methods that are employed in the management of these chains,based on whether supply and/or demand are flexible or ***,our management taxonomy highlights a very critical research area at which both supply and demand are flexible,thus *** management of supply and demand chains sets the stage for mass customization which is concerned with meeting the needs of an individualized customer *** and real time management of supply and demand chains set the stage for real time mass customization（e.g.,wherein a tailor first laser scans an individual＇s upper torso and then delivers a uniquely fitted jacket within a reasonable period,while the individual is waiting）.The benefits of real time mass customization cannot be over-stated as goods and services become indistinguishable

Children with sickle Cell Disease in Northern Benin: Follow up of a Cohort at the Borgou/Alibori Branch of Integrated medical Healthcare Center for Infants and Pregnant Women with sickle Cell Disease from 2017 to 2022

Introduction: sickle cell disease is a public health problem in sub-saharan Africa. A national referral center for the management of infants and pregnant women with sickle cell disease (CPmI-NFED) was created three decades ago in Cotonou, in the south of Benin with two regional branches including that of Parakou in the North for better access of patients to specialized care. This work is a review of five years of activities in order to describe the epidemiological, clinical, hematological and evolutionary profiles of the children followed up in the said branch. method: This was a descriptive and retrospective cross-sectional study on the medical records of children with sickle cell disease, followed up at the regional branch of CPmI-NFED in Borgou/Alibori from June 1, 2017 to may 31, 2022. The variables studied were epidemiological, clinical, biological and evolutionary. Results: A total of 101 children with sickle cell disease were included in the study, including 78 homozygous ss (77.2%) and 23 heterozygous sC (22.8%). Their mean age at inclusion was 51.2 ± 37.6 months [6 - 204]. The sex ratio was 1.4. Vaso-occlusive crises were the main diagnostic circumstances in 42.3% of homozygotes. more than half of the children (51.5%) had a regular follow-up. The average baseline level of hemoglobin (Hb) in homozygous children was 8.8 ± 1.4 g/dl [5.8 - 11.5];and the rate of Hb s varied between 61.9 and 94.7%. In heterozygous sC children, the mean baseline level of Hb was 10.7 ± 0.6 g/dl [9.7 - 11.5]. Acute complications observed during follow-up were dominated by pneumonia and vaso-occlusive crises in both phenotypes. The overall mortality was 3% and only affected homozygous patients. Conclusion: On average, three out of four children were homozygous in our cohort. The main acute complications were infectious and vaso-occlusive. Analysis of Conservative and magnetically Induced Electric Fields in a Low-Frequency Birdcage Coil

Numerical methods are used to evaluate variations of the electromagnetic fields generated by a head-sized birdcage coil as a function of load (“loading effect”). The loading effect was analyzed for the cases of a coil loaded with a conductive cylindrical sample, a dielectric cylindrical sample, and an anatomically precise head model. maxwell equations were solved by means of finite difference time domain (FDTD) method conducted at 12.8, 64, and 128 mHz. simulation results indicate that at 12.8 mHz the conservative electric field (Ec) caused by the scalar electric potentials between the coil and the load or within the load was significantly higher than the magnetically-induced electric field (Ei) and was the major component of the total electric field (Etotal). The amplitudes of Ec and Etotal are seen to be lower within a sample than at a corresponding location in an empty coil, but approximately 65% higher in the space between coil and sample than at a corresponding location in an empty coil. This is due to polarization effects generating an additional scalar potential parallel to the original field. The increased electric field between coil and sample may cause increased power deposition at the surface of the sample and may affect the RF-induced currents in external leads used for physiological recording, i.e. ECG, during mRI scanning.

Health Risk Assessment after Exposure to Aluminium in Drinking Water between Two Different Villages

A cross-sectional study was conducted at mukim Parit Lubok (mPL) and Parit Raja (PR), Batu Pahat, malaysia. The main objective of this study was to determine the aluminium concentration in drinking water and to perform health risk assessment prediction among respondents from these two residential areas. A total of 100 respondents were selected from the study areas based on inclusive and exclusive criteria. Two duplicates of treated water samples were taken from each respondent’s house using 200mL high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles and 0.4 mL (69%) pure concentrated nitric acid were added as a preservative. Aluminium concentrations were analyzed using a Lambda 25 UV/V spectrophotometer. The result showed that aluminium concentration in drinking water from mPL was 0.18 ± 0.022 mg/L and 0.22 ± 0.044 mg/L for PR. statistical analysis showed that 14 (28%) water samples collected from mPL and 35 (70%) from PR recorded concentration of aluminium above the standard limit set by the ministry of Health, malaysia for drinking water guideline (0.2 mg/L). The mean value of Chronic Daily Intake (CDI) of aluminium in drinking water from PR (0.00707 mg/kg/day) was significantly higher compared to mPL (0.00164 mg/kg/day). Hazard Index (HI) calculation showed that all respondents had “HI” of less than 1. In conclusion, there was an unlikely potential for adverse health effects from aluminium intake in drinking water from both study areas. However, it was necessary for some actions to be taken in order to reduce aluminium levels found in drinking water for both locations.

We applied an ex-situ casting procedure to prepare a nanocomposite(NCP)from makrofol polycarbonate(PC)and Cdse *** Cdse nanoparticles were prepared by a thermolysis procedure in the presence of N_(2) gas *** refinement of x-ray data illustrated that the Cdse adopts a cubic zinc blend structure of 6.057 A lattice parameter and 2 nm typical grain *** from the prepared NCP were exposed to γ dosages(20 kGy-250 kGy).The modifications induced in the NCP films owing to γ dosages have been ***γirradiation(50 kGy-250 kGy)causes crosslinks that reduce the optical bandgap from 4.15 eV to 3.81 eV,associated with an increase in dielectric parameters and refractive *** is attributed to an increase in the mass fraction of the disordered regions as specified by x-ray *** PC-Cdse NCP was found to have a reaction to color modification which makes it suitable for saleable reproduction on a printing press.

The Use of an Electron microchannel as a self-Extracting and Focusing Plasma Cathode Electron Gun

A new and simple type of electron gun is *** conventional electron guns,which require a heated filament or extractor,accelerator and focusing electrodes,this gun uses the collimated electron microchannels of an inertial electrostatic confinement（IEC） discharge to achieve the same outcome.A cylindrical cathode is placed coaxially within a cylindrical anode to create the *** beams of electrons and fast neutrals emerge along the axis of the cylindrical *** geometry isolates one of the microchannels that emerge in a negatively biased IEC *** internal operating pressure range of the gun is 35-190 m Torr.A small aperture separates the gun from the main vacuum chamber in order to achieve a pressure *** chamber was operated at pressures of 4-12 m *** measured current produced by the gun was 0.1-3 m A（0.2-14 m A corrected measurement） for discharge currents of 1-45 m A and discharge voltages of 0.5-12 k *** collimated electron beam emerges from the aperture into the vacuum *** performance of the gun is unaffected by the pressure differential between the vacuum chamber and the *** allows the aperture to be removed and the chamber pressure to be equal to the gun pressure if required.

Feasibility of semi-solid die casting of ADC12 aluminum alloy

The feasibility of semi-solid die casting of ADC12 aluminum alloy was studied. The effects of plunger speed, gate thickness, and solid fraction of the slurry on the defects were determined. The defects investigated are gas and shrinkage porosity. In the experiments, semi-solid slurry was prepared by the gas-induced semi-solid （GIss） technique. Then, the slurry was transferred to the shot sleeve and injected into the die. The die and shot sleeve temperatures were kept at 180 ℃ and 250 ℃, respectively. The results show that the samples produced by the GIss die casting give little porosity, no blister and uniform microstructure. From all the results, it can be concluded that the GIss process is feasible to apply in the ADC12 aluminum die casting process. In addition, the GIss process can give improved properties such as decreased porosity and increased microstructure uniformity.

Passively Q-switched s-band thulium fluoride fiberlaser with multi-walled carbon nanotube

A stable, passively Q-switched thulium fluoride fiber laser（TFFL） using a multi-walled carbon nanotube（mWCNT）-based saturable absorber（sA） for operation in the s-band region is proposed and *** proposed TFFL has a central lasing wavelength of 1486.4 nm and an input power range of 87.1–126.6 m *** output pulses have a repetition rate and pulse width range of 30.1–40.0 k Hz and 9.0–3.2 μs, respectively,with a maximum pulse energy of 28.9 n J. This is the first time, to the author’s knowledge, of the successful demonstration of a passively Q-switched s-band TFFL using an mWCNT-based sA.
