Diagnostic methods and risk analysis based on fuzzy soft information

In our daily life problem we face uncertainties in making right decisions. In this study, we propose two different decision-making problems in medical field. The first problem is fever diagnosing and second problem is mouth cancer risk analysis. In the first problem, we use fuzzy soft similarity measures and fuzzy soft matrix operations to diagnose the type of fever. We consider a hypothetical case study and manipulate similarity measures on it. Our work diagnoses different patients having similar symptoms. We also develop a small application using JAVA. In the second problem, we perform risk analysis of mouth cancer. The proposed fuzzy soft expert system takes two biochemical parameters as inputs that is, serum total malondialdehyde (mDA), and serum proton donors capacity (donors_protons) and determines the risk of mouth cancer. Our study facilitates doctors by diagnosing mouth cancer at its earlier stages. There are four main components of our fuzzy soft expert system. The first component is named as fuzzification which converts crisp input into linguistic variables and formulates fuzzy sets. The second component transforms fuzzy sets into their respective fuzzy soft sets. The third coinponent determines indispensable parameters and perforins parameter reduction. The fourth component performs risk analysis by using algorithm. We use exemplary dataset and run all the components of fuzzy soft expert system to compute cancer risk.

This paper determines the risk for cardiovascular diseases(CVDs).and nutrition level in infants aged 06 montlis using Fuzzy Cognitive maps(FCms).The aim of this study is to facilitates the medical experts to early detects these diseases with accuracy,so that overall death ratio can be ***,we have introduced the concepts of FCms and briefly refer to the applications of these methods in *** that,two intel ligent decision support systems for cardiovascular and malnutrition are developed using *** proposed cardiovascular risk assessment system takes six inputs:chest pain,cholesterol,heart rate,blood pressure,blood sugar,and old peak and determines CVDs *** second decision support system of malnutrition diagnosis takes twelve inputs:breastfeeding,daily income,maternal education,colostrum intake,energy intake,protein intake,vitamin A intake,iron intake,family size,height,weight,head circumference,and skin fold thickness and diagnoses the nutrition level in *** have explained the working of both decision support systems using case studies.

Application of artificial neural network for calculating anisotropic friction angle of sands and effect on slope stability

The anisotropy effect is one of the most prominent phenomena in soil mechanics. Although many experimental programs have investigated anisotropy in sand, a computational procedure for determining anisotropy is lacking. Thus, this work aims to develop a procedure for connecting the sand friction angle and the loading orientation. All principal stress rotation tests in the literatures were processed via an artificial neural network. Then, with sensitivity analysis, the effect of intrinsic soil properties,consolidation history, and test sample characteristics on enhancing anisotropy was examined. The results imply that decreasing the grain size of the soil increases the effect of anisotropy on soil shear strength. In addition, increasing the angularity of grains increases the anisotropy effect in the sample. The stability of a sandy slope was also examined by considering the anisotropy in shear strength parameters. If the anisotropy effect is neglected, slope safety is overestimated by 5%-25%. This deviation is more apparent in flatter slopes than in steeper ones. However, the critical slip surface in the most slopes is the same in isotropic and anisotropic conditions.

At present,the power system is more inclined towards disturbances,such as voltage variations and unbalanced load conditions,due to the grid's complexity and load *** challenges emphasize the integration of the compensating devices,such as battery storage(BS)and *** this regard,this current paper exhibits a novel energy management system(EmS)of a combined BS and D-STATCOm to compensate the power system during *** EmS is based on a fractional order sliding mode control(FOSmC)to drive the voltage source converters(VSCs)such that the active power is independently absorbed/injected by the BS,whereas the reactive power is independently absorbed/injected by the D-STATCOm depending upon the disturbance *** is a robust non-linear controller in which the Riemann-Liouville(RL)function is employed to design the sliding surface and the exponential reaching law is used to minimize the chattering *** stability of the FOSmC in the proposed EmS is proved using the Lyapunov candidate *** order to validate the performance of the proposed EmS,a model of a 400 V,180 kVA radial distributor along with a BS and D-STATCOm is simulated in mATLAB/Simulink environment in two test *** results prove that the proposed EmS with FOmSC effectively compensates the power system under voltage variations and unbalanced load conditions with rapid tracking,fast convergence and upright ***,the results have been compared with the classical proportional integral(PI)control and fixed frequency SmC(FFSmC),and they demonstrate the superiority of the proposed EmS with FOSmC in power system applications.

Comparative study of Anaplasma parasites in tick carrying buffaloes and cattle

A comparative study on the prevalence of Anaplasma parasite was conducted on ticks carrying buffaloes and cattle. Five hundred blood samples of both animals (250 of each) were collected during February, march and April. Thin blood smears on glass slides were made, fixed in 100% methyl alcohol and examined. microscopic examination revealed that 205 (41%) animals had Anaplasma parasites, out of which 89, 44 and 72 animals had Anaplasma marginale, Anaplasma centrale and mixed infection respectively. Infected buffaloes and cattle were 75 and 130 respectively. The infection in female was 53 and 92 in buffaloes and cattle respectively. Twenty-two and 92 blood samples of male were found positive in buffaloes and cattle respectively. Com- parative study revealed that the cattle were 26.82% more susceptible than buffaloes. The parasite prevailing percentage in female of both animals was slightly higher than that of the male. This investigation was aimed at studying the comparative prevalence of Anaplasma parasite in tick carrying buffaloes and cattle.

Homogeneous gold nanoparticles were synthesized under atmospheric pressure using a nonthermal helium plasma jet in a single-step process.A current power supply was used to generate the plasma discharge rich in diverse reactive *** species induce rapid chemical reactions responsible for the reduction of the gold salts upon contact with the liquid *** this study,spherical and monodispersed gold nanoparticles were obtained within 5 min of plasma exposure using a solution containing gold(Ⅲ)chloride hydrate(HAuCl_(4))as a precursor and polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)as a capping agent to inhibit *** formation of these metal nanoparticles was initially perceptible through a visible change in the sample's color,transitioning from light yellow to a red/pink *** was subsequently corroborated by UVvis spectroscopy,which revealed an optical absorption in the 520-550 nm range for Au NPs,corresponding to the surface plasmon resonance(SPR)*** investigation into the impact of various parameters,including plasma discharge duration,precursor and capping agent concentrations,was carried out to optimize conditions for the formation of well-separated,spherical gold *** light scattering(DLS)was used to measure the size of these nanoparticles,transmission electron microscopy(TEm)was used to observe their morphology and X-ray diffraction(XRD)was also employed to determine their crystallographic *** results confirm that homogeneous spherical gold nanoparticles with an average diameter of 13 nm can be easily synthesized through a rapid,straightforward,and environmentally friendly approach utilizing a helium atmospheric pressure plasma.

Spiral transitions

Spiral curves are free from singularities and curvature extrema. These are used in path smoothing applications to overcome the abrupt change in curvature and super-elevation of moving object that occurs between tangent and circular curve. Line to circle spiral transition is made of straight line segment and curvature continuous spiral curve. It is extendible to other important types of transitions like line to line and circle to circle. Although the problem of line to circle transition has been addressed by many researchers, there is no comprehensive literature review available. This paper presents state-of-the-art of line to circle spiral transition,applications in different fields, limitations of existing approaches, and recommendations to meet the challenges of compatibility with today’s CAD/CAm soft wares, satisfaction of Hermite end conditions, approximation of discrete data for image processing, 3 D path smoothness for an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV), and arc-length parametrization. Whole discussion is concluded with future research directions in various areas of applications.

Observational Characteristics of Cloud Radiative Effects over Three Arid Regions in the Northern Hemisphere

Cloud–radiation processes play an important role in regional energy budgets and surface temperature changes over arid regions. Cloud radiative effects（CREs） are used to quantitatively measure the aforementioned climatic role. This study investigates the characteristics of CREs and their temporal variations over three arid regions in central Asia（CA）, East Asia（EA）, and North America（NA）, based on recent satellite datasets. Our results show that the annual mean shortwave（SW） and net CREs（SWCRE and NCRE） over the three arid regions are weaker than those in the same latitudinal zone of the Northern Hemisphere. In most cold months（November–march）, the longwave（LW）CRE is stronger than the SWCRE over the three arid regions, leading to a positive NCRE and radiative warming in the regional atmosphere–land surface system. The cold-season mean NCRE at the top of the atmosphere（TOA） averaged over EA is 4.1 W m^-2, with a positive NCRE from November to march, and the intensity and duration of the positive NCRE is larger than that over CA and NA. The CREs over the arid regions of EA exhibit remarkable annual cycles due to the influence of the monsoon in the south. The TOA LWCRE over arid regions is closely related to the high-cloud fraction, and the SWCRE relates well to the total cloud fraction. In addition, the relationship between the SWCRE and the low-cloud fraction is good over NA because of the considerable occurrence of low cloud. Further results show that the interannual variation of TOA CREs is small over the arid regions of CA and EA, but their surface LWCREs show certain decreasing trends that correspond well to their decreasing total cloud fraction. It is suggested that combined studies of more observational cloud properties and meteorological elements are needed for indepth understanding of cloud–radiation processes over arid regions of the Northern Hemisphere.
