A simulation-based method to investigate occupant-centric controls

Occupant-centric control (OCC) strategies rely on different algorithms to learn and predict occupants’ patterns and preferences, then utilize these predictions to optimize building operations. However, testing different OCC algorithms or fine-tuning their configurations in real buildings can be a lengthy process. To this end, we present a framework for testing OCCs in a simulation environment prior to field implementation. The proposed workflow entails using synthetic occupant behaviour models and simulating OCC strategies to learn their preferences. The goal is to enable quick comparison of different OCC configurations under various scenarios by modifying occupant behaviour assumptions, as well as climate and design parameters. For proof-of-concept, the proposed method was applied in a case-study to simulate OCCs for lighting and heating/cooling setpoint adjustments in a single office under various occupant types, as well as OCC settings and design configurations. Results demonstrated the benefits of the proposed framework and its potential for providing a more holistic evaluation of OCCs under different scenarios. Using the proposed framework, building designers and operators can identify potential issues with OCCs and fine-tune their settings prior to field implementation.

During the last decade,the generation and accumulation of petabase-scale high-throughput sequencing data have resulted in great challenges,including access to human data,as well as transfer,storage,and sharing of enormous amounts of *** promote data-driven biological research,the korean government announced that all biological data generated from government-funded research projects should be deposited at the korea BioData Station(k-BDS),which consists of multiple databases for individual data ***,we introduce the korean Nucleotide Archive(koNA),a repository of nucleotide sequence *** of July 2022,the korean Read Archive in koNA has collected over 477 TB of raw next-generation sequencing data from national genome *** ensure data quality and prepare for international alignment,a standard operating procedure was adopted,which is similar to that of the International Nucleotide Sequence Database *** standard operating procedure includes quality control processes for submitted data and metadata using an automated pipeline,followed by manual *** ensure fast and stable data transfer,a high-speed transmission system called GBox is used in ***,the data uploaded to or downloaded from koNA through GBox can be readily processed using a cloud computing service called *** seamless coupling of koNA,GBox,and Bio-Express enhances the data experience,including submission,access,and analysis of raw nucleotide *** not only satisfies the unmet needs for a national sequence repository in korea but also provides datasets to researchers globally and contributes to advances in *** koNA is available at https://***/kona/.

Design of small-area multi-bit antifuse-type 1 kbit OTP memory

A multi-bit antifuse-type one-time programmable （OTP） memory is designed, which has a smaller area and a shorter programming time compared with the conventional single-bit antifuse-type OTP memory. While the conventional antifuse-type OTP memory can store a bit per cell, a proposed OTP memory can store two consecutive bits per cell through a data compression technique. The 1 kbit OTP memory designed with magnachip 0.18 μm CmOS （complementary metal-oxide semiconductor） process is 34% smaller than the conventional single-bit antifuse-type OTP memory since the sizes of cell array and row decoder are reduced. And the programming time of the proposed OTP memory is nearly 50% smaller than that of the conventional counterpart since two consecutive bytes can be compressed and programmed into eight OTP cells at once. The layout area is 214 μm× 327 μ,, and the read current is simulated to be 30.4 μA.

The effect of surface mechanical attrition treatment （SmAT） of commercially pure titanium （CP-Ti） using 8 mm O alumina balls was studied. SmAT induced plastic deformation, increased the surface roughness, reduced the grain size and decreased the contact angle （from 64° to 43°） with a corresponding increase in surface energy （from 32 to 53 mJ/m2）. Untreated CP-Ti and those treateded using alumina bails for 900 s reveals no apatite growth until the 28th day of immersion whereas those treated for 1800 and 2700 s exhibit apatite growth In selective areas and the extent of growth is increased with increase in immersion time an SBF; The study reveals that SmAT using alumina balls is beneficial in imparting the desired surface Cheracteristics, provided the surface contamination is limited, which would otherwise decrease the apatite forming ability.

Samples of 12 hard winter wheats and their flours that produced breads varying in crumb grain scores were studied for 38 quality parameters including: wheat physical and chemical characteristics; flour ash and protein contents,starch damage,swelling power,pasting characteristics,and flour particle size distribution; dough properties determined by a mixograph; and breadmaking properties for pup loaves (100g flour). Only two parameters,the protein content of wheat and the granulation of flour,showed significant correlations with bread crumb grain scores. Protein content of wheat ranging 12.9%～14.5% determined by an NIR method showed a weak inverse relationship (r =-0.61,pmb grain score. Flour particle size distribution measured by both Alpine Air Jet Sieve and NIR methods revealed that the weight wt % of particles less than 38μm in size and representing 9.6%～19.3% of the flour weights was correlated positively (r =0 .78,pmb grain score,whereas wt % of flour particles larger than 125μm had an inverse relationship (r =-0.60,pmb grain score.

The work investigates influence of the electrolyte conductivity on the onset of partial contact glow discharge electrolysis(CGDE)in a water *** current density(CCD)and breakdown voltage were measured together with in situ observation of hydrogen bubble behavior,whose influence has not been focused *** a fixed current during normal electrolysis,hydrogen coalescence adjacent to cathode surface was invigorated at a lower *** analyses elucidated the hydrogen coalescence characteristics by quantifying size and population of detached hydrogen *** CCD increased about 104% within given range of conductivity(11.50-127.48 mS·cm^(-1))due to impaired bubble coalescence,which delays hydrogen film formation on the ***,decreasing trend of breakdown voltage was measured with increased conductivity showing maximum drop of 74%.It is concluded that onset of partial CGDE is directly affected by hydrodynamic bubble behaviors,whereas the electrolyte conductivity affects the bubble formation characteristics adjacent to cathode electrode.
