We have developed a conceptual design of a 15-TW pulsed-power accelerator based on the linear-transformer-driver(LTD)architecture described by Stygar[*** et al.,*** *** 18,110401(2015)].The driver will allow multiple,high-energy-density experiments per day in a university environment and,at the same time,will enable both fundamental and integrated experiments that are scalable to larger *** this design,many individual energy storage units(bricks),each composed of two capacitors and one switch,directly drive the target load without additional pulse *** LTD modules in parallel drive the *** module consists of 16 LTD cavities connected in series,where each cavity is powered by 22 bricks connected in *** design stores up to 2.75 mj and delivers up to 15 TW in 100 ns to the constant-impedance,water-insulated radial transmission *** transmission lines in turn deliver a peak current as high as 12.5 mA to the physics *** maximize its experimental value and flexibility,the accelerator is coupled to a modern,multibeam laser facility(four beams with up to 5 kj in 10 ns and one beam with up to 2.6 kj in 100 ps or less)that can provide auxiliary heating of the physics *** lasers also enable advanced diagnostic techniques such as X-ray Thomson scattering and multiframe and three-dimensional *** coupled accelerator-laser facility will be the first of its kind and be capable of conducting unprecedented high-energy-densityephysics experiments.

Optical parametric chirped-pulse amplification implemented using multikilojoule Nd:glass pump lasers is a promising approach for producing ultra-intense pulses(>10^(23)W/cm^(2)).We report on the mTW-OPAL Laser System,an optical parametric amplifier line(OPAL)pumped by the Nd:doped portion of the multi-terawatt(mTW)*** midscale prototype was designed to produce 0.5-PW pulses with technologies scalable to tens of *** choices made for mTW-OPAL were guided by the longer-term goal of two full-scale OPALs pumped by the OmEGA EP to produce 2×25-PW beams that would be co-located with kilojoule-nanosecond ultraviolet *** mTWOPAL campaigns that have been completed since“first light”in march 2020 show that the laser design is fundamentally sound,and optimization continues as we prepare for“first-focus”campaigns later this year.

AIm: To further define variables associated with increased incidences of severe toxicities following administration of yttrium-90 (90Y) ***: Fifty-eight patients undergoing 79 treatments were retrospectively assessed for development of clinical and laboratory toxicity incidence following 90Y administration. Severe toxicity events were defined using Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 4.03 and defined as grade ≥ 3. Univariate logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the effect of different factors on the incidence of severe toxicity events. multicollinearity was assessed for all factors with P matrices. All factors not excluded due to multicollinearity were included in a multivariate logistic regression model for each measurement of severe ***: Severe (grade ≥ 3) toxicities occurred following 21.5% of the 79 treatments included in our analysis. The most common severe laboratory toxicities were severe alkaline phosphatase (17.7%), albumin (12.7%), and total bilirubin (10.1%) toxicities. Decreased pre-treatment albumin (OR = 26.2, P = 0.010) and increased pre-treatment international normalized ratio (INR) (OR = 17.7, P = 0.048) were associated with development of severe hepatic toxicity. Increased pre-treatment aspartate aminotransferase (AST; OR = 7.4, P = 0.025) and decreased pre-treatment hemoglobin (OR = 12.5, P = 0.025) were associated with severe albumin toxicity. Increasing pre-treatment model for end-stage liver disease (mELD) score (OR = 1.8, P = 0.033) was associated with severe total bilirubin toxicity. Colorectal adenocarcinoma histology was associated with severe alkaline phosphatase toxicity (OR = 5.4, P = 0.043).CONCLUSION: Clinicians should carefully consider pre-treatment albumin, INR, AST, hemoglobin, mELD, and colorectal histology when choosing appropriate candidates for 90Y microsphere therapy.

The complete quantitative essential amino acid(EAA)requirements of aquacultured animals are largely unknown except for a handful of *** is problematic because formulation of least-cost diets for target animals demands precise knowledge of EAA *** way of approximating EAA requirements is to use correlations between whole-body and/or muscle EAA profiles using essential to total EAA ratios(A/E ratios).This method requires a reference,quantified EAA requirement,usually lysine(Lys).To systematically evaluate the A/E ratio method,muscle AA profiles were measured in 10 species of teleost and whiteleg *** fish,Lys represented the dominant muscle EAA measured,ranging between 7.06 and 9.58 g/100 g protein,whereas,in shrimp,arginine(Arg)was quantified as the principal *** non-EAA,glutamate(Glu)and glutamine were consistently the NEAA recorded at highest levels whereas,in shrimp,Glu+Gln was highest followed by aspartate(Asp)plus asparagine(Asn).Except for Arg,which was twice that of fish(Pmp expressed similar muscle A/E *** of relationship between muscle EAA levels and known requirements were all strongly and positively correlated for non-salmonid *** using Lys as the reference EAA there were few semblances between measured and estimated EAA requirements.
