Herein,the interaction of a protein,bovine serum albumin(BSA),with tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide(TTAB,a cationic surfactant),has been investigated using the conductivity measurement technique in pure water and some sodium salts(NaCl,Na_(2) SO_(4),Na_(2) CO_(3), and Na_(3) PO_(4)) solutions at temperature range of 295.15-320.15 *** reveal that,in the plot of specific conductivity versus the concentration of TTAB,only a single critical micelle concentration(cmc) was found for the TTAB+BSA mixed system in all solvents media *** addition of BSA in aqueous TTAB solution,the value of cmc undergoes a change from its pure form,which indicates the presence of strong interaction operating between the BSA and TTAB *** aqueous system,the cmc values of the TTAB+BSA mixtures are obtained higher compared to the values found for single TTAB surfactant However,the addition of salt decreases the cmc value of mixed TTAB+BSA *** values of cmc of the BSA+TTAB mixed system at 310.15 K and 1.00 mmol·kg^(-1) ionic strength of salt followed the order:cmc_(Na_(2) CO_(3))> Cmcc_(Na_(3) PO_(4))> cmcNaCl>cmC_(Na_(2) SO_(4)).The cmc values of TTAB+BSA mixture were found to be lowered in urea solution within the concentrations *** values of degree of dissociation(α) and fraction of counter ion binding(β) were found to be dependent on additives and *** free energy of micellization(AGm) is negative for all the systems,which manifests that the micellization phenomenon is energetically *** enhancement of the negative value of △G_(m)^(0) in aqueous salt solutions reveals an increase of spontaneity of the TTAB+BSA micellization *** values of △G_(m)^(0) also reveal that the spontaneity of micelle formation is enhanced at higher temperatures in all media *** values of free energy of transfer(△G_(m,t)^(o)) were also determined for numerous solvent media used in the present study and described with appropriate reasoning.

Determination of consolidation behaviour of clay slurries

The main objective of this study was to determine the consolidation behaviour of clay slurries.A finegrained clay with high consistency limits(W_L = 180%,w_P= 120%) was investigated using conventional oedometer and bench-top centrifuge *** indicated that the slurry had an apparent preconsolidation(due to initial conditions,electrochemical interactions,tortuous drainage,and thixotropic strength) from e = 5.7 to e = 5.5 followed by virgin ***,the low hydraulic conductivity(10^(-10)-10^(-12) m/s) was due to low porosity(small pore throats) and high tortuosity(long flow paths).Unlike consolidation of soils,the c_v and m_v decreased with increasing σ' but increased with increasing e and *** data from the two tests correlated well in the range of σ' = 10-65 kPa,e = 5.5-3.86,k= 1.7 × 10^(-10)-5×10^(-11) m/s,F_c = 1-40 *** equations were developed to correlate the consolidation parameters(e,σ',k) with F_*** deviation of k beyond 40 mN(e = 4.65) was due to deviation from the initial straight line portion of the settlement curve in the centrifuge test.

Inheritance of marsh spot disease resistance in cranberry common bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

Common bean(Phaseolus vulgaris) is an annual legume crop that is grown worldwide for its edible dry seeds and tender pods. marsh spot(mS) of the seeds is a physio-genic stress disease affecting seed quality in beans. Studies have suggested that this disease involves a nutritional disorder caused by manganese deficiency, but the inheritance of resistance to this disease has not been reported. A biparental genetic population composed of 138 recombinant inbred lines(RILs) was developed from a cross between an mS resistant cultivar ‘Cran09’ and an mS susceptible cultivar ‘messina’. The 138 RILs and their two parents were evaluated for mS resistance during five consecutive years from 2015 to 2019 in sandy and heavy clay soils in morden, manitoba, Canada. The mS incidence(mSI) and the mS resistance index(mSRI) representing disease severity were shown to be both highly correlated heritable traits that had high broad-sense heritability values(H;) of 86.5% and 83.2%, respectively. No significant differences for mSI and mSRI were observed between the two soil types in all five-(mSI) or four-year(mSRI) data collection, but significant correlations among years were observed despite mS resistance was moderately affected by year. The mSIs and mSRIs displayed a right-skewed distribution, indicating a mixed genetic model involving a few major genes and polygenes. Using the joint segregation analysis method, the same four major genes with additive-epistasis effects showed the best fit for both traits, explaining 84.4% and85.3% of the phenotypic variance for mSI and mSRI, respectively. For both traits, the m1, m2, m3 and m4 acted as the favorable(resistant) alleles for the four genes where m and m represent two alleles of each gene. However, due to epistatic effects, only the individuals of the m1 m2 m3 m4 haplotype appeared to be highly resistant, whereas those of the m1 m2 m3 m4 haplotype were the most susceptible. Analysis of shower particle pseudorapidity spectra in interactions of relativistic Au and Pb ions with emulsion nuclei

The pseudorapidity spectra of fast particles （with β 〉 0.7） produced in Au （at 11.6 A GeV） and Pb （at 158 A GeV） induced collisions with emulsion （Em） nuclei contain some visual plateaus and shoulders. The plateau is wider for Pb＋Em reactions compared with the Au＋Em ones. The existence of a plateau is expected for parton models. The Fourier transformation and maximum entropy methods were used to get additional information about the plateaus. The dependence of the plateaus on the centrality of the collisions was also studied using the number of g-particles to fix centrality. It shows that the maximum entropy method could confirm the existence of the plateau and the shoulder on distributions.

Crustal structure beneath Tien Shan orogenic belt and its adjacent regions from multi-scale seismic data

As one of the world's most active intracontinental mountain belts, Tien Shan has posed questions for researchers regarding the formation of different tectonic units and active shallow seismicity. Here, we used a huge data set comprising of 7094 earthquakes from local, regional and teleseismic seismic stations. We used waveform modeling and multi-scale double-difference earthquake relocation technique to better constrain the source parameters of the earthquakes. The new set of events provided us with better initial earthquake locations for further tomographic investigation. We found that reverse-faulting earthquakes dominate the whole study area while the fault plane solutions for earthquakes beneath the northwestern Tarim Basin and the main Pamir Thrust are diverse. There is a low-velocity anomaly beneath Bashkaingdy at depth of 80 km, and high-velocity anomalies beneath central Tien Shan at shallower depths. These observations are the keys to understand the mechanism of Tien Shan's formation because of Tarim Basin northward and Kazakh Shield's southward subduction in the south and north respectively. Velocities beneath western Tien Shan are relatively high. We thus infer that the Western Tien Shan is relatively less deformed than the eastern Tien Shan primarily due to a relatively brittle mantle.

In this article,modified versions of variational iteration algorithms are presented for the numerical simulation of the diffusion of oil *** numerical examples are given to demonstrate the applicability and validity of the proposed *** obtained results are compared with the existing solutions,which reveal that the proposed methods are very effective and can be used for other nonlinear initial value problems arising in science and engineering.

Investigation on the key aspects of l-arginine para nitrobenzoate monohydrate single crystal:A non-linear optical material

In the contemporary days, non-linear optical materials(NLO) are getting higher attention as per the increasing demand in optical communication and data storage technology. Consequently, they explore various physical properties of the NLO material for their industrial applications. In current report, l-arginine p-nitrobenzoate monohydrate(LANB) single crystals were obtained by adopting slow cooling technique. The structural confirmation of grown single crystal was carried out using single crystal X-Ray diffractometer. Presence of strain within single crystal was deduced using Hall–Williamson relation. Various defects associated within single crystal were assessed using high resolution XRD. Additionally, its crystalline quality was again confirmed by time resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy(TRPL). Using transmission spectra, the cut off wavelength and band gap of the host material was determined to be nearly 420 nm and 2.9 e V respectively. The dielectric property has been recorded by varying the frequency ranging from 50 Hz to 100 k Hz. The curve suggests that dielectric loss value is less at high frequency ensures the suitability of crystal in photonics and NLO based *** laser damage threshold values were also measured for single and multiple shots. Thermal parameters of the titled compound were calculated using PPE. In photoconductivity measurement, negative photoconductivity has been observed in titled compound. microhardness studies were also performed on single crystal to explore its mechanical properties.

Recently application of functionally graded materials（FGms） have attracted a great deal of interest. These materials are composed of various materials with different micro-structures which can vary spatially in FGms. Such composites with varying thickness and non-uniform pressure can be used in the aerospace engineering. Therefore, analysis of such composite is of high importance in engineering problems. Thermoelastic analysis of functionally graded cylinder with variable thickness under non-uniform pressure is considered. First order shear deformation theory and total potential energy approach is applied to obtain the governing equations of non-homogeneous cylinder. Considering the inner and outer solutions, perturbation series are applied to solve the governing equations. Outer solution for out of boundaries and more sensitive variable in inner solution at the boundaries are considered. Combining of inner and outer solution for near and far points from boundaries leads to high accurate displacement field distribution. The main aim of this paper is to show the capability of matched asymptotic solution for different non-homogeneous cylinders with different shapes and different non-uniform pressures. The results can be used to design the optimum thickness of the cylinder and also some properties such as high temperature residence by applying non-homogeneous material.

1,2-Benzothiazine derivatives methyl 3-methoxy-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[e] [1,2]thiazine-3-carboxylate 1,1-dioxide（1） and methyl 2-ethyl-3-hydroxy-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2Hbenzo[e][1,2]thiazine-3-carboxylate 1,1-dioxide（2） were synthesized, and characterized by spectroscopic techniques; 1H-NmR and infrared（IR） spectroscopy. Crystals of 1 and 2 were grown by slow evaporation of methanol and ethyl acetate, respectively and their crystal structures were investigated by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Geometric properties were calculated by the B3 LYP method of density functional theory（DFT） at the 6-31G＋（d） basis set to compare with the experimental data. Simulated properties were found in strong agreement with the experimental ones. Intermolecular forces have also been modeled in order to investigate the strength of packing and strong hydrogen bonding was observed in both compounds 1 and 2. Electronic properties such as Ionization Potential（IP）, Electron Affinities（EA） and coefficients of the highest occupied molecular orbital（HOmO） and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital（LUmO） of com- pounds 1 and 2 were simulated for the first time.
