BACKGrOUND The literature suggests that there is a high degree of co-occurrence between chronic pain and posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD). An association has been found between PTSD and substance abuse. PTSD is a severe disorder that should be taken into account when opioids are prescribed. It has been found that the prevalence of opioid use disorder(OUD) in chronic pain patients is higher.among those with PTSD than those without this *** To perform a systematic review on the association between PTSD, chronic noncancer pain(CNCP), and opioid intake(i.e., prescription, misuse, and abuse).mETHODS We conducted a systematic review following the Preferred reporting Items for Systematic reviews and meta-Analyses guidelines. The Patient, Intervention,Comparator, and Outcomes(PICOS) criter.a were formulated a priori in the protocol of the systematic review. A search was conducted of the PrOSPErO database. In march 2019, searches were also conducted of 5 other databases:Pub med, mEDLINE, Psyc INFO, Web of Science, and PILOTS. The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network checklist for cohort studies was used to assess the selected studies for their methodological quality and risk of bias. Each study was evaluated according to its inter.al validity, participant sampling,confounding var.ables, and the statistical *** A total of 151 potentially eligible studies were identified of which 17 were retained for.analysis. Only 10 met the selection criter.a. All the studies were published between 2008 and 2018 and were conducted in the United States. The eligible studies included a total of 1622785 unique participants. Of these, 196516 had comorbid CNCP and PTSD and were consuming opiates. The participants had a cross-study mean age of 35.2 years. The majority of participants were men(81.6%). Ther.al analysis of olive tree pruning and the by-products obtained by its gasification and pyrolysis: The effect of some heavy metals on their devolatilization behavior

In this work, the effect of the presence of nickel and lead in ther.al decomposition of olive tree pruning (OTP), OTP-char.and OTP-ashes was studied by thermogravimetry. Experiments were conducted in two kinds of atmosphere (nitrogen atmosphere and oxidizing atmosphere with 20% of O2) at a heating rate of 10 ℃/min. This investigation describes the chemical, physical and fuel properties of the OTP, which shows a similar composition to other lignocellulosic mater.als such as hazelnut husk and wood sawdust. In addition, SEm analysis indicated that OTP-char sur.ace is higher than OTP sur.ace with plenty of holes and channels. It makes the char.an ideal support for metal retention specially for Pb metal (OTP retained 8.55 mg/g wher.as OTP char retained 11.57 mg/g). On the other hand, metal retention occurred by adsorption or ion exchange, according to the Ir spectrum of the samples. The results of thermogravimetric tests proved that the presence of lead did not have a strong effect on the decomposition of the samples, since TG and DTG curves were very similar. However, nickel incr.ased the mass loss rate, accelerating the decomposition process, showing higher peaks in DTG curves. Additionally, for temperatures higher than 360 ℃, the volatilization of the samples was improved in the nickel-polluted sample, achieving a higher mass loss, getting more energy from the biomass and reducing the quantity of residues left after the process.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the applicability of maximal photochemical efficiency of photosystem II (Fv/Fm) as an early estimate of P. radiata micrografts viability coming from different position (basal vs. apical) in the ortets. We hypothesize that Fv/Fm var.ation is a good indicator of micrograft’s viability and phenological stage during micrograft development. The micrografts were established in QL medium supplemented whit 0.1 mg·L-1 IBA and 1 mg·L-1 BAP and cultured at 25°C ± 2°C and 80 μmol photons m-2s-1 of photosynthetic active radiation by 16 h per day. During the establishment and consolidation phase, we found significant differences in Fv/Fm with respect to time and buds positions provenience. During establishment, basal shoot tips have lower Fv/Fm than apical shoot tips, which agrees with the lowest viability (35%). However, during the consolidation phase, the trend changed and basal shoot tips presented higher Fv/Fm than apical shoot tips and showed an incr.ase in ETr.and NPQ, with respect to apical shoots and ortet. Although the measurement of fluorescence parameters implies the insertion of the fluorometer sonde in vitro, this implies aseptic considerations, but always conveies a contamination risk. We conclude that fluorescence (Fv/Fm, ETr, NPQ) can be indicators of the micrograft’s development according to the shoot tips position in the ortet and can be useful early-indicators of the scions’ physiological condition during micrograft transition from establishment to consolidation.

Assessment of Nurses’ Knowledge of the management of Pre-Eclampsia in a Hospital Setting: The Case of the Van Nor.an Clinic. Bujumbura-Burundi

Background: Pre-eclampsia is one of the pathologies of pregnancy that causes serious mater.al and fetal complications. Good nursing management of pre-eclampsia could stabilize and limit possible mater.al and fetal complication. Aim: This study aims to assess nurses’ knowledge of the management of pre-eclampsia. This is a descriptive prospective study conducted at the Van Nor.an Clinic over three-month period from November 1st, 2020 to January 31st, 2021 to assess the knowledge of nurses assigned to the Patient reception service, Emergency service, Gynecological-Obstetrics service and Community medicine department on the management of pre-eclampsia. Data were tr.ated using microsoft Word and analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Scientists version 16 (SPSS). During the period of our study, we collected 40 nurses out of 44 nurses, which represents 90.9% (n = 40) of the nurses assigned to the Patient reception service, Emergency service, Gynecological-Obstetrics service and Community medicine department. Among the 40 cases collected, 30% respondents did not give the true definition of pre-eclampsia. Our study also showed that 70% of nurses had not been trained on the management of pre-eclampsia and 90% had not used nursing theories in their practice while the Inquiry-Based Practice (IBP) and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) applications were known in 7.5% of cases. With regard to the nursing management of pre-eclampsia, 62.5% of cases knew the first gestures of management while 90% of cases did not know the overall nursing management of pre-eclampsia. Last of continuing education, use of nursing theories and lack of resuscitation were the main obstacles observed in the nursing management of pre-eclampsia. For better nursing management of pre-eclampsia, emphasis should be placed on building staff capacity and executing the care plan by applying nursing theories.

Digital intubation was discovered as one of the first methods to face a difficult air.ay without direct laryngoscopy. From the very beginning, this technique has been surrounded by much controversy, mainly because it required to be performed by an expert. Nowadays, it remains a useful technique when tr.ating patients with difficult air.ays, so it is of utmost impor.ance all personnel involved with air.ay management must know and perfect this technique when scenarios where conventional laryngoscopy or rescue devices for difficult air.ay are not available or contraindicated. The present work’s main objective is to suggest digital intubation as a safe and effective technique for the management of patients with difficult air.ays when there are no other devices available. The authors present a successful case of digital intubation on a patient with a difficult air.ay, demonstrating this technique is useful when performed by expert practitioners and when there is no other equipment available.

Colorectal cancer(CrC)is the second leading cause of cancer-related death *** five-year survival rate of CrC patients depends on the stage at diagnosis,being higher than 80%when CrC is diagnosed in the early stages but lower than 10%when CrC is diagnosed in advanced *** against specific CrC autoantigens(tumor.associated antigens(TAAs))in the sera of patients have been widely demonstrated to aid in early ***,we herein aim to identify autoantigens target of autoantibodies specific to CrC that possess a significant ability to discriminate between CrC patients and healthy individuals by means of liquid *** that end,we examined the protein content of the exosomes released by five CrC cell lines and tissue samples from CrC patients by means of immunoprecipitation coupled with mass spectrometry analysis.A total of 103 proteins were identified as potential autoantigens specific to *** bioinfor.atics and meta-analysis,we selected 15 proteins that are more likely to be actual CrC autoantigens in order to evaluate their role in CrC prognosis by Western blot(WB)and immunohistochemistry(IHC).We found dysregulation at the protein level for 11 of these proteins in both tissue and plasma exosome samples from patients,along with an association of nine of these proteins with CrC *** validation,all but one showed a statistically significant high diagnostic ability to distinguish CrC patients and individuals with premalignant lesions from healthy individuals,either by luminescence Halotag-based beads,or by a multiplexed biosensing platform involving the use of magnetic microcarriers as solid support modified with covalently immobilized Halotag fusion proteins constructed for CrC *** together,our results highlight the usefulness of the appr.ach defined here to identify the TAAs specific to chronic diseases;they also demonstrate that the measurement of autoantibody levels in plasma against the TAAs identified here

Spring water but not double-distilled water was exposed, in darkness, to a temporally patterned weak magnetic field that has been shown to affect planar.an behavior.and slow the rate of cancer cell proliferation. Exposure to the magnetic field caused a reliable shift in the peak (longer) wave-length of ~10 nm for fluorescence emissions and a ~20% incr.ase (~100 counts) in fluorescence intensity. Spectral analyses verified a shift of 5 and 10 nm, equivalent to ~1.5 × 10-20 J “periodicity” across the measured wavelengths, which could reflect a change in the an intrinsic energy as predicted by Del Giudice and Preparata and could correspond to two lengths of O-H bonds. Wrapping the water sample containers during exposure with copper foil, aluminum foil, or plastic altered these fluorescent profiles. The most conspicuous effect was the elimination of a ~280 nm peak in the UV-VIS emission spectra only for samples wrapped with copper foil but not aluminum or plastic. These results suggest that weak magnetic fields produce alterations in the water-ionic complexes sufficient to be reliably measured by spectrophotometry. Because the effect was most pronounced when the spring water was exposed in darkness and was not disturbed the role of thixotropic phenomena and Del Giudice entrapment of magnetic fields within coherent domains of Pollack virtual exclusion zones (ez) may have set the conditions for subsequent release of the energy as photons.

Background: Liver transplantation is the tr.atment for end-stage liver diseases and well-selected malignancies. The allograft shor.age may be alleviated with living donation. The initial UCLouvain experience of adult living-donor liver transplantation(LDLT) is presented. methods: A retrospective analysis of 64 adult-to-adult LDLTs performed at our institution between 1998 and 2016 was conducted. The median age of 29(45.3%) females and 35(54.7%) males was 50.2 years(interquartile range, IQr 32.9–57.5). Twenty-two(34.4%) recipients had no por.al hypertension. Three(4.7%) patients had a benign and 33(51.6%) a malignant tumor [19(29.7%) hepatocellular cancer, 11(17.2%) secondary cancer.and one(1.6%) each hemangioendothelioma, hepatoblastoma and embryonal liver sarcoma]. median donor.and recipient follow-ups were 93 months(IQr 41–159) and 39 months(22–91), respectively. results: right and left hemi-livers were implanted in 39(60.9%) and 25(39.1%) cases, respectively. median weights of right-and left-liver were 810 g(IQr 730–940) and 454 g(IQr 394–534), respectively. Graft-to-recipient weight ratios(GrWrs) were 1.17%(right, IQr 0.98%-1.4%) and 0.77%(left, 0.59%-0.95%). One-and five-year patient survivals were 85% and 71%(right) vs. 84% and 58%(left), respectively. Oneand five-year graft survivals were 74% and 61%(right) vs. 76% and 53%(left), respectively. The patient and graft survival of right and left grafts and of very small( mall(0.6%–0.79%) and large( ≥0.8%) GrWr were similar. Survival of very small grafts was 86% and 86% at 3-and 12-month. No donor died while five(7.8%) developed a Clavien–Dindo complication IIIa, IIIb or IV. recipient morbidity consisted mainly of biliary and vascular complications; three(4.7%) recipients developed a small-for-size syndrome according to the Kyushu criter.a. Conclusions: Adult-to-adult LDLT is a demanding procedure that widens therapeutic possibilities of many hepatobiliary diseases. The donor procedure can be done safely
