This article presents an efficient parallel processing approach for solving the opti- mal control problem of nonlinear composite systems. In this approach, the original high-order coupled nonlinear two-point boundary value problem （TPBVP） derived from the Pontrya- gin＇s maximum principle is first transformed into a sequence of lower-order deeoupled linear time-invariant TPBVPs. Then, an optimal control law which consists of both feedback and forward terms is achieved by using the modal series method for the derived sequence. The feedback term specified by local states of each subsystem is determined by solving a ma- trix Riccati differential equation. The forward term for each subsystem derived from its local information is an infinite sum of adjoint vectors. The convergence analysis and parallel processing capability of the proposed approach are also provided. To achieve an accurate feedforward-feedbaek suboptimal control, we apply a fast iterative algorithm with low com- putational effort. Finally, some comparative results are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Regularity of atomic nuclei with random interactions： sd bosons

Atomic nuclei are complex systems with gigantic configuration spaces, therefore truncations of model spaces are indispensable. Due to the short-range nature of the nuclear interactions, one may resort to a truncation by using coherent nucleon-pairs which are conveniently further simplified as bosons, such as sd bosons. The discovery of the spin-zero ground state dominance with random two-body interactions led to a series of studies on regular structure for sd bosons in the presence of random interactions, and this review article summarizes studies along this line in last two decades. We concentrate on various patterns exhibited in sd boson systems, and demonstrate that many random samples which were thought to be noisy exhibit very regular patterns, some of which are interpreted in terms of the V（5）, O（6）, O（6）, SU（3）, and SU（3） dynamical symmetries of the sd interacting boson model.

In this paper, we study evolution of the universe in the background of f(R, T) gravity using LRS Bianchi type-Ⅰ model. We discuss scale factors as well as deceleration parameter in dark energy dominated era for different bulk viscosity models. The occurrence of big-rip singularity is also examined. It is concluded that expansion is faster when bulk viscosity is proportional to Hubble parameter as compared to other models.

DTL cavity design and beam dynamics for a TAC linear proton accelerator

A 30 mA drift tube linac （DTL） accelerator has been designed using SUPERFISH code in the energy range of 3-55 meV in the framework of the Turkish Accelerator Center （TAC） project. Optimization criteria in cavity design are effective shunt impedance （ZTT）, transit-time factor and electrical breakdown limit. In geometrical optimization we have aimed to increase the energy gain in each RF gap of the DTL cells by maximizing the effective shunt impedance （ZTT） and the transit-time factor. Beam dynamics studies of the DTL accelerator have been performed using beam dynamics simulation codes of PATH and PARmILA. The results of both codes have been compared. In the beam dynamical studies, the rms values of beam emittance have been taken into account and a low emittance growth in both x and y directions has been attempted.

It is critical to have precise data about Lithium-ion batteries,such as the State-of-Charge(SoC),to maintain a safe and consistent functioning of battery packs in energy storage systems of electric *** strategies for estimating battery SoC,such as by including the coulomb counting and Kalman filter,have been *** a result of the differences in parameter values between each cell,when these methods are applied to highcapacity battery packs,it has difficulties sustaining the prediction accuracy of overall *** a result of aging,the variation in the parameters of each cell is higher as more time is spent in *** is suggested in this study to establish an SoC estimate model for a Lithium-ion battery by employing an enhanced Deep Neural Network(DNN)*** is because the proposed DNN has a substantial hidden layer,which can accurately predict the SoC of an unknown driving cycle during training,making it ideal for SoC *** evaluate the nonlinearities between voltage and current at various SoCs and temperatures,the proposed DNN is *** current and voltage data measured at various temperatures throughout discharge/charge cycles is necessary for training and testing *** the method has been thoroughly trained with the data collected,it is used for additional cells cycle tests to predict their *** simulation has been conducted for two different Li-ion battery *** to the experimental data,the suggested DNN-based SoC estimate approach produces a low mean absolute error and root-mean-square-error values,say less than 5%errors.

Recent advances in three-dimensional numerical simulations of mantle convection have aided in approximately reproducing continental movement since the Pangea breakup at 200 ma. These have also led to a better understanding of the thermal and mechanical coupling between mantle convection and surface plate motion and predictions of the configuration of the next supercontinent. The simulations of mantle convection from 200 ma to the present reveals that the development of large-scale cold mantle downwellings in the North Tethys Ocean at the earlier stage of the Pangea breakup triggered the northward movement of the Indian subcontinent. The model of high temperature anomaly region beneath Pangea resulting from the thermal insulation effect support the breakup of Pangea in the real Earth time scale, as also suggested in previous geological and geodynamic models. However, considering the low radioactive heat generation rate of the depleted upper mantle, the high temperature anomaly region might have been generated by upwelling plumes with contribution of deep subducted TTG(tonalite-trondhjemite-granite) materials enriched in radiogenic elements. Integrating the numerical results of mantle convection from 200 ma to the present, and from the present to the future, it is considered that the mantle drag force acting on the base of continents may be comparable to the slab pull force, which implies that convection in the shallower part of the mantle is strongly coupled with surface plate motion.

Prediction of Soil Depth from Digital Terrain Data by Integrating Statistical and Visual Approaches

Information about the spatial distribution of soil attributes is indispensable for many land resource management applications; however, the ability of soil maps to supply such information for modern modeling tools is questionable. The objectives of this study were to investigate the possibility of predicting soil depth using some terrain attributes derived from digital elevation models (DEms) with geographic information systems (GIS) and to suggest an approach to predict other soil attributes. Soil depth was determined at 652 field observations over the Al-muwaqqar Watershed (70 km2) in Jordan. Terrain attributes derived from 30-m resolution DEms were utilized to predict soil depth. The results indicated that the use of multiple linear regression models within small watershed subdivisions enabled the prediction of soil depth with a difference of 50 cm for 77% of the field observations. The spatial distribution of the predicted soil depth was visually coincided and had good correlations with the spatial distribution of the classes amalgamating three terrain attributes, slope steepness, slope shape, and compound topographic index. These suggested that the modeling of soil-landscape relationships within small watershed subdivisions using the three terrain attributes was a promising approach to predict other soil attributes.
