Solution of nonlinear cubic-quintic Duffing oscillators using He’s Energy Balance method

In this study, He＇s Energy Balance method （EBm） was applied to solve strong nonlinear Duffing oscillators with cubic-quintic nonlinear restoring force. The complete EBm solution procedure of the cubic-quintic Duffing oscillator equation is presented. For illustration of effectiveness and convenience of the EBm, different cases of cubic-quintic Duffing oscillator with different parameters of α,β and y were compared with the exact solution. We found that the solutions were valid for small as well as large amplitudes of oscillation. The results show that the EBm is very convenient and precise, so it can be widely appli- cable in engineering and other sciences.

The laminar flow through a leaky tube is investigated, and the momentum and conservation of energy equations are solved analytically. By using the Hagen-Poiseuille velocity profile and defining unknown functions for the axial and radial velocity compo- nents, the pressure and mass transfer equations are obtained, and their profiles are plotted according to different parameters. The results indicate that the axial velocity, the radial velocity, the mass transfer parameter, and the pressure in the tube decrease as the fluid moves along the tube.

A numerical investigation is carried out to study the effect of splitter＇s inclination angle behind an inclined square cylinder on the forced convection heat transfer in a plan channel using the lattice Boltzmann method （LBm）. The simulations are conducted for the pertinent parameters in the following ranges： the Reynolds number Re=50-300, the gap ratio G/d = 2, and the splitter＇s inclination angle 8 = 0°-90°. The results show that with the increase in the angle of the splitter, the drag coefficient initially decreases and then increases. moreover, the time-averaged Nusselt number at a certain angle increases noticeably.

In this paper a hydrodynamic journal sliding bearing,forming with two nonparallel surfaces that the lower surface moves with a unidirectional velocity and the upper surface is stationary shaped with exponential geometry is verified *** values of volumetric flow rate and distribution of pressure for incompressible lubricant flow between two supports in several conditions of velocity with different variables are *** results indicate that by increasing the amount of constant(m),the maximum oil pressure in the bearing will face an extreme decrease,and also by increasing theαcoefficient,the rate of volumetric flow rate will decrease.

In the present work,impact of a Newtonian drop on horizontal thin fibers withcircular cross section is simulated in 2D *** numerical simulations of the phenomenaare carried out using volume of fluid(VOF)method for tracking the free surface *** of a Newtonian droplet on a circular thin fiber(350 um radius)*** main focus of this simulation is to acquire threshold radius and velocity of adrop which is entirely captured by the *** model agrees well with the experiments anddemonstrates the threshold radius decreased generally with the increase of impact *** words,for velocity larger than threshold velocity of capture perhaps only a small portionof fluid is stuck on the solid and the rest of the drop is ejected for impact velocity smaller thancritical velocity the drop is totally *** threshold velocity has been determined whenthe impact is centered.

In this study,applications of some analytical methods on nonlinear equation of the launching of a rocket with variable mass are *** transformation method(DTm),homotopy perturbation method(HPm)and least square method(LSm)were applied and their results are compared with numerical *** excellent agreement with analytical methods and numerical ones is observed in the results and this reveals that analytical methods are effective and *** a parametric study is performed here which includes the effect of exhaust velocity(C_(e)),bum rate(BR)of fuel and diameter of cylindrical rocket(d)on the motion of a sample rocket,and contours for showing the sensitivity of these parameters are *** main results indicate that the rocket velocity and altitude are increased with increasing the C_(e) and BR and decreased with increasing the rocket diameter and drag coefficient.

The present study discusses the thermal performance of the receiver tube,which contains a wall with various fin shapes in the parabolic trough *** fins and bulge surfaces of the inner wall of the receiver tube increase the turbulent fluid *** pursuance of uniform distribution of heat transfer,various fin shapes such as square-shape,circle-shape,triangle-shape,and combined square-circle shapes were inserted,examined,and compared.A study of the temperature differences and fluid flow is meaningful for this project therefore finite volume method was used to investigate heat ***,hybrid Nano-Fluid AL_(2)O_(3-)CuO,TiO_(2-)Cu,and AgmgO were applied to increase thermal *** the combined square-circle-shaped fin was inserted,the thermal peak of fluid flow in the receiver tube was lower than the other studied fin shapes by almost 1%.Besides,the hybrid nano-fluid Ag-mgO Syltherm-oil-800 has lower thermal waste in comparison to others by more than 3%.

A new first degree solids mixing rate is proposed to evaluate the mixing of solids in small scale Iluidized beds. Particle mixing experiments were carried out in a 2D fluidized bed with a cross-section of 0.02 m × 0.2 m and a height of Im. white and black particles with average diameters of 850 and 450 μm were used in our experiments. Image processing was used to measure the concentration of the tracers at different times. The effects of four representative operating parameters （superficial gas velocity, ratio of tracer particles to bed particles, tracer particle position, and particle size） on mixing are discussed with reference to the mixing index. We found that the Lacey index depends on the concentration of the tracers, The position of the tracers affects the initial mixing rate but not the final degree of mixing. However, the new mixing rate equation does not depend on the initial configuration of the particles because this situation is considered to be the initial condition. Using the data obtained in this work and that found in literature, an empirical correlation is proposed to evaluate the mixing rate constant as a function of dimensionless numbers （Archimedes, Reynolds, and Froude） in small scale fluidized beds. This correlation allows for an estimation of the mixing rate under different operating conditions and for the detection of the end point and/or the time of mixing.

Dental stem cells(DSCs)are self-renewable cells that can be obtained easily from dental tissues,and are a desirable source of autologous stem *** use of DSCs for stem cell transplantation therapeutic approaches is attractive due to their simple isolation,high plasticity,immunomodulatory properties,and multipotential *** appropriate scaffolds loaded with favorable biomolecules,such as growth factors,and cytokines,can improve the proliferation,differentiation,migration,and functional capacity of DSCs and can optimize the cellular morphology to build tissue constructs for specific *** enormous variety of scaffolds have been used for tissue engineering with *** these,the scaffolds that particularly mimic tissue-specific micromilieu and loaded with biomolecules favorably regulate angiogenesis,cell-matrix interactions,degradation of extracellular matrix,organized matrix formation,and the mineralization abilities of DSCs in both in vitro and in vivo *** represent a promising cell source for tissue engineering,especially for tooth,bone,and neural tissue *** purpose of the present review is to summarize the current developments in the major scaffolding approaches as crucial guidelines for tissue engineering using DSCs and compare their effects in tissue and organ regeneration.
