The oldest Asian record of alpheid shrimps,assigned to genus Alpheus,based on snapping claw fingertips from the miocene Khari Nadi Formation in the Kutch Basin,western India reported herein,extends the fossil record of the family Alpheidae from Asia by~22 million *** early miocene(Aquitanian)age is estimated based on the associated assemblage of calcareous nannofossils,Sphenolithus disbelemnos,Cyclicargolithus floridanus,and Reticulofenestra *** co-occurring microbiota includes bony fish otolith remains,identified as“genus gobiidarum”,isolated teeth of Dasyatis rays,Sphyrna sharks,and teleosts,ctenoid and placoid scales,ostracods,belonging to the genera Paractinocythereis,Alocopocythere,Ruggieria,Aglaiocypris,Bairdoppilata,and echinoid *** together,the microfossil assemblage and data from chemical analyses using Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy,X-Ray Diffraction and Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence of host and associated lithologies suggests prevalence of a shallow(neritic)to coastal marine(intertidal)depositional *** present investigation also provides the oldest fossil evidence on the co-occurrence of Alpheus and gobiids(based on otoliths)that strongly advocates that the mutualistic association between these animal groups had developed by the Aquitanian.

The electromagnetic transition properties of the decuplet to octet baryon （→ Nγ） is studied within the framework of a hypercentral quark *** confinement potential is assumed as a hypercentral coloumb plus linear *** transition magnetic moment and transition amplitude f m 1 for the → Nγ are in agreement with other theoretical *** present result of the radiative decay width is found to be in excellent agreement with the experimental values reported by the particle data group over other theoretical model predictions.

mass spectra and Regge trajectories of Λ_c^+,∑_c^0,Ξ_c^0 and Ω_c^0 baryons

We calculate the mass spectra of the singly charmed baryons （∧＋ c, ∑0 c,[I]0c and Ω0 c） using the hypercentral constituent quark model （hCQm）. The hyper color Coulomb plus linear potential is used to calculate the masses ofpositive （up to JP = 7＋/2 ）9 and negative （up to JP = 9-/2）parity excited states. The spin-spin, spin-orbital and tensorinteraction terms are-also incorporated for mass spectra. We have compared our results with other theoretical and lattice QCD predictions for each baryon. moreover, the known experimental results are also reasonably close to our predicted masses. By using the radial and orbital excitation, we construct Regge trajectories for the baryons in the （n,m2） plane and find their slopes and intercepts. Other properties of these baryons, like magnetic moments, radiative transitions and radiative decay widths, are also calculated successfully.

After the m7.7 earthquake in 2001,the Kachchh rift basin became the focus of various geological and geophysical researches on the western Indian *** an essential technology,the global Navigation Satellite System(gNSS)has been utilized to study the deformation pattern in the central mainland *** select the east-west striking Katrol Hill Fault(KHF)as the study area and analyze the crustal deformation pattern using the datasets from 2014 to *** geodetic results along the KHF reveal a mean deformation of about 2.1 mm per year,which is higher in the eastern part and lower in the central and western *** investigation of deformation and derived strain reveals the segmented behavior of KHF,while the dominance of compressive strain(maximum 22 nanostrain/yr)in the eastern segment makes it the most active segment of the KHF.A higher deformation rate along the eastern KHF can be considered significant in terms of seismic hazard for this part of the Indian plate.

Acute Effect of mobile Phone on Cardiac Electrical Activity in Healthy Volunteers

Background: A large number of publications have appeared in medical and scientific literature which show the hazardous effects of the mobile phone due to its radiofrequencies on reproductive system, autonomic nervous and immune system as well as cardiovascular system. However, so far the biological effect of the radiofrequency emitted from the mobile phone was not clear. Aim: To assess the effect of mobile phone on electrical cardiac activity by analysing the heart rate, QT interval, corrected QT Interval and QT dispersions while the mobile phone is to the proximity of heart. Settings and Design: This prospective, non-randomized study was carried out at private tertiary care hospital, for the period of 24 months. methods and material: One hundred healthy human volunteers were recruited in the study based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The heart rate and 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECg) were recorded in all the participants (supine position) in 3 situations: without mobile phone, mobile phone switched on (not ringing), and mobile phone ringing. We performed statistical analysis of variance (p mpare the ECg variables in all three situations. Results: There was no statistically significant difference observed in heart rate and ECg variables (QT interval, corrected QT interval, QT dispersion) in three groups (p > 0.05). Conclusions: We conclude that the mobile phone positioned to the proximity of the heart has no effect on the heart rate or cardiac electrical activity.

A rare entity of persistent mullerian duct syndrome usually presents with a common symptom of undescended testis(UDT) or hernia. male pseudo-hermaphroditism with persistent internal mullerian duct structures can present with a 46, XY karyotype with normal external genitalia and. It arises due to deficiency of antimullerian substance, resulting from reduced production/responsiveness to mullerian duct, leading to persistence of mullerian duct along with normal development of Wolffian duct structures. Presence of mullerian structure prevents testicular descent increasing the risk of testicular vanishing syndrome. The authors here report a case of 16 years old phenotypical male who came with retractile right sided testis and left side UDT in the urology outpatient department. Explorative laparotomy was performed and an ill-defined mass was excised and sent for histopathological examination. Histopathology revealed presence of mullerian structures. The serum testosterone level was normal, buccal smear cytology and karyotyping revealed a 46, XY genotype of the patient.

Analysis of Trends of Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders in Patients with Systemic Essential Hypertension

Background: Studies have revealed a strong link between sleep-related breathing disorders and essential hypertension. However, the trends of sleep-disordered breathing in hypertensive patients have not been analyzed frequently. methods: In this prospective, single-center and observational study, random patients with systemic essential hypertension, who were visiting gSVm medical College, Kanpur, India between December 2012 and July 2014, were selected. After obtaining informed consent, patients were analyzed for symptoms of sleep-disordered breathing and Epworth Sleepiness Scale. Subsequently, all patients underwent overnight polysomnography to estimate the events of apnea and hypopnea. Observed data were compared between stage I and stage II hypertensive patients. Results: A total of 51 patients (age: 45.7 ± 13.43 years), comprising 36 stage I hypertensives and 15 stage II hypertensives, were enrolled in the study. About 47% of these patients displayed no symptoms of sleep-disordered breathing. Compared to stage I hypertensives, higher percentage of stage II hypertensives reported excessive day time sleepiness. Sleep latency time and sleep architecture were comparable between stage I and stage II hypertensives. Stage II hypertensives displayed shorter total sleep time and higher snore time than stage I hyper-tensives. Apnea Hypopnea Index (AHI) values increased with the severity of hypertension. Nocturnal oxygen desaturation was present in 25.0% and 53.3% of stage I and II hypertensives respectively. mean lowest oxygen saturation was lower and the mean C-reactive protein levels were higher in stage II hypertensives as compared to stage I hypertensives. The mean C-reactive protein levels increased with increasing AHI scores, while the mean lowest oxygen saturation decreased with increasing AHI scores.
