Over 2 billion people worldwide are estimated to have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),defined by excess hepatic ***,progression into nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)is characterized by the onset of liver inflammation following exacerbated steatosis.1 This suggests that reducing liver inflammation(*** lifestyle interventions involving exercise training)may come secondary to a reduction of ***,both the metabolic and inflammatory processes involved in NAFLD are under circadian control and could respond differently to exercise at different times of day.2 To investigate the time-of-day–dependent effect of exercise training on NAFLD amelioration in the early disease stages we trained high-fat high-cholesterol(HFHC)-fed APOe*3-Leiden cholesteryl ester transfer protein(CeTP)mice during their early or late active *** mouse model was chosen because of its humanized lipid metabolism and its ability to develop all hallmarks of human NAFLD upon HFHC feeding.

The generalized stacking fault energy is a key ingredient to mesoscale models of *** we develop an approach to quantify the dependence of generalized stacking fault energies on the degree of chemical disorder in multicomponent *** introduce the notion of a“configurationally-resolved planar fault”(CRPF)energy and extend the cluster expansion method from alloy theory to express the CRPF as a function of chemical occupation variables of sites surrounding the *** apply the approach to explore the composition and temperature dependence of the unstable stacking fault energy(USF)in binary mo–Nb ***-principles calculations are used to parameterize a formation energy and CRPF cluster *** Carlo simulations show that the distribution of USF energies is significantly affected by chemical composition and *** formalism is broadly applicable to arbitrary crystal structures and alloy chemistries and will enable the development of rigorous models for deformation mechanisms in high-entropy alloys.

We report results of a large computational ＇alloy by design＇ study, in which the ＇chemical composition-mechanical strength＇ space is explored for austenitic, ferritic and martensitic creep resistant steels. The approach used allows simultaneously optimization of alloy composition and processing parameters based on the integration of thermodynamic, thermo-kinetics and a genetic algorithm optimization route. The nature of the optimisation depends on both the intended matrix（ferritic, martensitic or austenitic） and the desired precipitation family. The models are validated by analysing reported strengths of existing steels. All newly designed alloys are predicted to outperform existing high end reference grades.

Introduction:In the management of upper tract urothelial cell carcinoma(UTUC)endoscopic,nephron sparing procedures like ureterorenoscopy(URS)or percutaneous tumour resection(PCTR)still play a very limited *** could lead to possible unnecessary radical nephroureterectomies(RNU),still being the gold standard *** risk of chronic kidney disease(CKD)later in life is *** this study we present the results of 24-year experience with PCTR in a single ***:We identified 44 patients who underwent PCTR between 1992 and *** resection was achieved in 40 patients who were included in this *** and clinical data,including tumour recurrence,progression to RNU,tumour grade and overall survival(OS)were retrospectively *** outcome analysis was ***:median age at diagnosis was 68 years(range 42-94 years).Low grade tumours were found in 37 patients(92.5%)and high grade tumours in three patients(7.5%).median followup was 53 months during which 20 patients developed upper tract recurrences(50.0%).The longest time to recurrence was 97 *** follow-up 11 patients(27.5%)underwent an RNU and two patients died from *** could be avoided in 29 patients(72.5%).In this study we found that multifocality is a significant risk factor for recurrence,but not for stage progression to ***:PCTR is a surgically and oncologically safe *** preservation in patients with UTUC who are eligible for percutaneous resection can be achieved in the majority of *** criteria for PCTR should be further refined,leading to a wider application of PCTR in the ***-up needs invasive procedures and should be long term.

Drought sensitivity of beech on a shallow chalk soil in northeastern Germany - a comparative study

Background： We compare the climate sensitivity of european beech （Fagus sylvatica L.） in two forest nature reserves in northeastern Germany. The one reserve, Schlossberg, is characterized by shallow chalk soils, whereas in the other reserve, eIdena, soils are deeper and more developed. Little is known about the drought sensitivity of beech on shallow chalk soils. methods： We collected increment cores at both research sites and established climate-growth relationships. Inter- tree variability was assessed by employing linear mixed-effect models. Results： We expected to find distinctively higher drought sensitivity at Schlossberg due to limited water availability, but find only marginal differences in growth responses. At both sites, drought is the major climatic factor driving tree growth. Adaptations in tree architecture and an underestimation of the water holding capacity of shallow chalk soils are discussed as possible reasons for not finding more distinct climate responses. In analyzing climate-growth relationships, we specifically focused on growth responses of individual trees but observed only low inter-tree variability at both sites. evident is a shift in climate response patterns from the first to the second half of the twentieth century with previous-year drought conditions becoming more important than current-year drought. This shift is discussed in relation to a warming trend over that same period, as well as possible trends in masting behavior of beech. Conclusion： The investigated beech trees on the shallow chalk soil are only slightly more drought sensitive than beech trees on the reference site with deeper and more developed soils.

AIm To evaluate brain involvement in quiescent Crohn's disease (CD) patients with fatigue using quantitative magnetic resonance imaging(mRI).meTHODS multiple mRI techniques were used to assess cerebral changes in 20 quiescent CD patients with fatigue(defined with at least 6 points out of an 11-point numeric rating scale compared with 17 healthy age and gender matched controls without fatigue. Furthermore, mental status was assessed by cognitive functioning, based on the neuropsychological inventory including the different domains global cognitive functioning, memory and executive functioning and in addition mood and quality of life scores. Cognitive functioning and mood status were correlated with mRI findings in the both study *** Reduced glutamate + glutamine (Glx = Glu + Gln) concentrations (P = 0.02) and ratios to total creatine(P = 0.02) were found in CD patients compared with controls. Significant increased Cerebral Blood Flow(P = 0.05) was found in CD patients (53.08 ± 6.14 mL/100 g/min) compared with controls (47.60 ± 8.62 mL/100 g/min). CD patients encountered significantly more depressive symptoms (P e functioning scores related to memory (P = 0.007) and executive functioning (P = 0.02) were lower in CD patients and both scores showed correlation with depression and anxiety. No correlation was found subcortical volumes between CD patients and controls in the T1-weighted analysis. In addition, no correlation was found between mental status and mRI *** This work shows evidence for perfusion, neurochemical and mental differences in the brain of CD patients with fatigue compared with healthy controls.

Background: Chronic exertional compartment syndrome(CeCS) is a condition of pain induced by exercise, and it is characterized by muscle swelling and impaired muscle function in the lower leg. Given the diversity in the diagnosis and treatment of CeCS, it is desirable to determine variables pertaining to prognosis and recovery. The purpose of this study is to identify prognostic factors for conservative treatment outcomes in servicemen with CeCS who were treated at a military Rehabilitation ***: Patients from all military services were referred from the special unit for lower leg pain at the Central military Hospital, Utrecht, the Netherlands. Descriptive analysis was used to report the characteristics of the participants and their baseline measurements. Group differences were analyzed using a Student's t-test or mannWhitney U test, according to the normality of the data distribution. Differences between the pre-and postintervention outcomes were evaluated using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. To evaluate the magnitude of prognostic factors, a univariate logistic regression analysis was performed. The prognostic factors included age, body mass index, body fat percentage, self-efficacy beliefs, foot malalignment, intramuscular pressure, other comorbidities, protein and creatine use, smoking, alcohol use, complaint duration, physical demands, and duration of military ***: After the rehabilitation period, we observed 25 patients with a successful outcome, which was defined as a reduction in pain(≥2 points) during the capacity test measured using a verbal rating scale and 20 patients with an unsuccessful outcome. Factors demonstrating a limited increased odds ratio for an unsuccessful outcome included smoking, alcohol use, intramuscular pressure, a complaint duration of more than 6 months, and physical demands of service.
