This study discusses wave propagation in perhaps the most general model of a poroelastic medium. The medium is considered as a viscoelastic, anisotropic and porous solid frame such that its pores of anisotropic permeability are filled with a viscous fluid. The anisotropy considered is of general type, and the attenuating waves in the medium are treated as the inhomogeneous waves. The complex slowness vector is resolved to define the phase velocity, homogeneous attenuation, inhomogeneous attenuation, and angle of attenuation for each of the four attenuating waves in the medium. A non-dimensional parameter measures the deviation of an inhomogeneous wave from its homogeneous version. An numerical model of a North-Sea sandstone is used to analyze the effects of the propagation direction, inhomogeneity parameter, frequency regime, anisotropy symmetry, anelasticity of the frame, and viscosity of the pore-fluid on the propagation characteristics of waves in such a medium.

A critical unaddressed problem in Parkinson’s disease is the lack of therapy that slows or hampers *** medications effectively manage symptoms,they offer no long-term benefit because they fail to address the underlying neuronal *** highlights that the elusive goals of halting progression and restoring damaged neurons limit the long-term impact of current *** clinical trials using gene therapy have demonstrated the safety of various vector delivery systems,dosages,and transgenes expressed in the central nervous system,signifying tangible and substantial progress in applying gene therapy as a promising Parkinson’s disease ***,at diagnosis,many dopamine neurons remain in the substantia nigra,offering a potential window for recovery and *** propose that modulating these surviving dopamine neurons and axons in the substantia nigra and striatum using gene therapy offers a potentially more impactful therapeutic approach for future ***,innovative gene therapies that focus on preserving the remaining elements may have significant potential for enhancing long-term outcomes and the quality of life for patients with Parkinson’s *** this review,we provide a perspective on how gene therapy can protect vulnerable elements in the substantia nigra and striatum,offering a novel approach to addressing Parkinson’s disease at its core.

In eukaryotic genome biology,the genomic organization inside the three-dimensional(3d)nucleus is highly complex,and whether this organization governs gene expression is poorly *** lamina(NL)is a filamentous meshwork of proteins present at the lining of inner nuclear membrane that serves as an anchoring platform for genome *** chromatin domains termed as lamina-associated domains(LAds),play a major role in silencing genes at the nuclear *** interaction of the NL and genome is dynamic and ***,many genes change their positions during developmental processes or under disease conditions such as cancer,to activate certain sorts of genes and/or silence *** heterochromatin(PCH)is mostly in the silenced region within the genome,which localizes at the nuclear *** show that several genes located at the PCH are aberrantly expressed in *** interesting question is that despite being localized in the pericentromeric region,how these genes still manage to overcome pericentromeric *** epigenetic mechanisms control the expression of the pericentromeric region,recent studies about genome organization and genome-nuclear lamina interaction have shed light on a new aspect of pericentromeric gene regulation through a complex and coordinated interplay between epigenomic remodeling and genomic organization in Cancer.

Effects of combined drug therapy on HIV-1 infection dynamics

Infection of human immunodeficiency virus （HIV） is determined through the decay of healthy Cd44- T-cells in a well-mixed compartment, such as a bloodstream. A mathe- matical model is considered to illustrate the effects of combined drug therapy, i.e. reverse transcription plus protease inhibitor, on viral growth and T-cell population dynamics. This model is used to explain the existence and stability of infected and uninfected steady states in HIV growth. An analytical technique, called variational iteration method （VIm）, is used to solve the mathematical model. This method is modified to obtain the rapidly convergent successive approximations of the exact solution. These approximations are obtained without any restrictions or the transformations that may change the physical behavior of the problem. Numerical simulations are computed and exhibited to illustrate the effects of proposed drug therapy on the growth or decay of infection.

A view in object oriented databases corresponds to virtual schemawith restructured generalization and decomposition hierarchies. Numbers of viewcreation methodologies have been proposed. A major drawback of existing method-ologies is that they do not maintain the closure property. That is, the result of aquery does not have the same semantics as embodied in the object oriented datamodel. Therefore, this paper presents a view creation methodology that derives aclass in response to a user's query, integrates derived class in global schema (i.e.,considers the problem of classes moving in class hierarchy) and selects the requiredclasses from global schema to create the view for user's query. Novel idea of viewcreation includes: (a) an object algebra for class derivation and customization (wherethe derived classes in terms of object instances and procedure/methods are studied),(b) maintenance of closure property, and (c) classification algorithm which providesmechanism to deal with the problem of a class moving in a class hierarchy.

Chemical leaching of coals would be required to produce cleaner coals for some special applications where physical benefi-ciation may not be effective *** would also help in recovering Li and rare earth metals besides in the sequestration of CO_(2).About 20 Indian coals having complexly distributed moderate to high ash contents were sequentially treated with various alkali–acid such as NaOH-HCl,HF,HCl,HCl-HF,and NaOH-HCl-HF *** aimed to establish and design the best stepwise sequential process for the highest degree of demineralisation through a chemical leaching *** and process intensification studies were carried *** than 80%demineralisation of madhaipur and Neemcha coals was observed using the best sequential treatment designed *** repeated stepwise treatment of the alkali and the acid was also studied,which was found to significantly enhance the degree of demineralisation of *** integrated process of alkali–acid leaching followed by solvent extraction(Organo-refining)and vice versa of the treated coal was also studied for producing cleaner coals.

Inspired by living organisms,helicoidal structures are becoming increasingly important in replacing the conventional lamination scheme to enhance the toughness,strength,and stiffness of *** helicoidal laminated composites,each layer is rotated by a specific angle with respect to the previous *** the present study,an attempt has been carried out to compare the free vibration and buckling behavior of the double-helicoidal and cross-helicoidal bio-inspired laminated composite plates under thermal *** influence of lamination scheme,aspect ratio,end conditions,thermal conditions,sideto-thickness ratio,and skew angle on the free vibration and buckling behavior of the plate is *** performance of helicoidal laminated composite plates is compared with that of cross-ply and quasi-isotropic *** study reveals that the helicoidal composites outperform the cross-ply and quasi-isotropic *** most cases studied,the cross-helicoidal plate exhibits stiff behavior.

Earthquake 2001 in Bhuj region of Kachchh district of Gujarat(India) was one of the most devastating earthquakes in the Indian history. This earthquake has caused severe damage to human life and properties. The impact of earthquake on groundwater resources at many locations was significant. Steep rise in static water level due to earthquake was observed at Bhachau and Chandarani. At other location groundwater followed the declining trend.

The systematics of kinematic moment of inertia J and dynamic moment of inertia J of superdeformed（Sd） bands in A -130, 150, 190 mass regions have been studied. We have obtained the values of J^（1） and J^（2）for all the Sd bands observed in the A-130, 150, 190 mass regions by using the experimental intraband E2 transition energies. The result of this work includes the variation of J with the product of valence proton and neutron numbers（NpNn）. The phenomenon of band mixing has been observed in the A -130, 150 mass regions and band crossing has been observed in the A-190 mass region. The systematics also includes the variation of J with the product of valence proton and neutron numbers（NpNn）. Evidence of staggering behaviour has been observed in all three A-130, 150 and 190 mass regions. We present for the first time the variation of J^（1）and J^（2）of Sd bands in the A-130, 150, 190 mass regions with NpNn.
