Following the unanimous recommendation of the International Commission on Stratigraphy, the Global boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) for the base of the Cenomanian Stage is defined at a level 36 metres below the top of the marnes Bleues Formation, a level that corresponds to the the first appearance of the planktonic foraminiferan Rotalipora globotruncanoides Sigal, 1948, on the south side of mont Risou, east of Rosans, Haute-Alpes, France, where it can be placed in the context of a series of secondary marker levels based on nannofossils, planktonic foraminifera, ammonites,and an ornate δ^13C curve.

The immunology of pregnancy is complex and incompletely understood. Aberrant immune activity in the decidua and in the placenta is believed to play a role in diseases of pregnancy, such as infertility, miscarriage, fetal growth restriction and preeclampsia. Here, we briefly review the endocrine control of uterine natural killer cell populations and their functions by the peptide hormone adrenomedullin. Studies in genetic animal models have revealed the critical importance of adrenomedullin dosage at the maternal-fetal interface, with cells from both the maternal and fetal compartments contributing to essential aspects underlying appropriate uterine receptivity, implantation and vascular remodeling of spiral arteries. These basic insights into the crosstalk between the endocrine and immune systems within the maternal- fetal interface may ultimately translate to a better understanding of the functions and consequences of dysregulated adrenomedullin levels in clinically complicated pregnancies.

The usage of continuous cooling transformation （CCT） diagrams in numerical welding simulations is state of the art. Nevertheless, specifications provide limits in chemical composition of materials which result in different CCT behavior and CCT diagrams, respectively. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the influence of variations in CCT diagrams on the developing residual stresses. In the present paper, four CCT diagrams and their effect on numerical calculation of residual stresses are investigated for the widely used structural steel S355J2 ＋ N welded by the gas metal arc welding （GmAW） process. Rather than performing an arbitrary adjustment of CCT behavior, four justifiable data sets were used as input to the numerical calculation： data available in the Sysweld database, experimental data acquired through Gleeble dilatometry tests, and TTTICCT predictions calculated from the JmatPro and Edison Welding Institute （EWI） Virtual Joining Portal software. The performed numerical analyses resulted in noticeable deviations in residual stresses considering the different CCT diagrams. Furthermore, possibilities to improve the prediction of distortions and residual stress based on CCT behavior are discussed.

The tumor suppressor p53 is a key player in the control of genomic integrity and homeostasis in connection with p63 and p73,the two other members of the p53 *** of functional p53 leads to the proliferation and survival of mature cells and progenitor or stem cells that accumulate genetic alterations,thus favoring tumorigenesis.p53 loss of function,observed in a wide variety of human tumor types,is frequently caused by missense mutations more frequently found in the DNA binding domain,but can also be due to the expression of a plethora of viral and cellular negative *** hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)represents a specific situation,first because the TP53 gene mutations pattern exhibits a“hot spot”rarely found in other tumor types that is linked to Aflatoxin B1 exposure and,second,because many HCCs do not exhibit any TP53 ***,we provide an overview of the current knowledge about the inhibition of p53 functions by the N-terminal(ΔN)truncated forms of the family,and their role in the emergence and maintenance of pre-malignant cells with stem cell characteristics and in HCC *** focus in particular on the Nanog-IGF1R-ΔNp73 axis that is associated with stem-like features in HCC cells and that may provide an attractive new therapeutic target and help to develop new biomarkers for HCC risk stratification,as well as preventive strategies.

Background:Psycho social factors predict recurrent inj ury and return to preinjury level of performance following orthopedic injury but are poorly understood following *** management protocols prioritize physical measures of ***,the objective of this study was to describe the psychosocial factors associated with return to sport(RTS) and how they are measured in athletes who sustained a ***:mEDLINE,Embase,APA PsycINFO,CINAHL,and SPORTDiscus were searched through February 2,*** studies included original peer-reviewed publications describing psychosocial factors associated with RTS following a diagnosed *** primary outcome was scales or measures employed and/or key thematic ***:Of the 3615 studies identified,10 quantitative cohort studies(Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based medicine Level-3) representing 2032 athletes(85% male;high-school and collegiate collision/contact athletes) and 4 qualitative studies representing 66 athletes(74% male;70% American football;aged 9-28 years) were *** identified 3 overarching themes and 10 outcome measures related to psychosocial factors associated with RTS following concussion:(a) fear(e.g,of recurrent concussion,of RTS,of losing playing status);(b) emotional factors(e.g,depression,anxiety,perceived stress,mental health,disturbance mood);and(c) contextual factors(e.g,social support,pressure,sense of identity).Conclusion:Although current medical clearance decisions prioritize physical measures of recovery,evidence suggests diverse psychosocial factors influence RTS following *** remains unclear which psychosocial factors contribute to a successful RTS,including the influence of sex/gender and *** studies should evaluate the association of psychological readiness with physical measures of recovery at medical clearance,preinjury level of performance,and risk of recurrent concussion to support RTS clinical decision-making.

Thermally grown surface oxide layers dominate the single-asperity tribological behavior of a Zr60Cu30Al10 *** in oxidation time leads to an increased contribution of shearing and a corresponding decreased contribution of ploughing to *** change in the dominating friction and wear mechanism results in an overall minor decrease of the friction coefficient of oxidized surfaces compared to the metallic glass sample with native surface *** results demonstrate the importance of creating a stable oxide layer for practical applications of metallic glasses in micro-devices involving sliding contact.

The development of zero and negative therma expansion(i.e.,ZTE and NTE)materials is of crucial importance to the control of undesirable thermal expansion for high-precision *** the present work,ZTE and NTE were obtained in directionally-solidified mn_(x)Fe_(5-x)Si_(3)alloys with a strongtexture,in striking contrast to positive thermal expansion in their isotropic counterparts magnetometry and in-situ X-ray diffraction(XRD)measurements were performed to uncover the origin of the anomalous thermal *** measurements indicate a strong easy-plane magnetocrystalline anisotropy in the textured samples,where the magnetic moments are aligned within the ab plane of the hexagonal structure Temperature-dependent XRD on the x=1 sample reveals a ZTE character in the ab plane that is coupled to a ferromagnetic *** a result,the macroscopic ZTE(~0.22×10^(-6)K^(-1))in the x=1 sample can be attributed to the microscopic magneto volume effect within the ab plane,which is realized by the introduction of the-textured ***,the competition between antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic exchange coupling leads to NTE in textured x=1.5 and 2 ***,textured x=1 sample displays enhanced magnetocaloric properties as compared to the conventional counterparts with randomly-oriented *** this work demonstrates a new strategy toward the exploration of anomalous thermal expansion properties as well as the enhancement of magnetocaloric properties for materials with a strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy.

Ghrelin is a 28 amino acid peptide mainly derived from the oxyntic gland of the stomach. Both acylated(AG) and unacylated(UAG) forms of ghrelin are found in the circulation. Initially, AG was considered as the only bioactive form of ghrelin. However, recent advances indicate that both AG and UAG exert distinct and common effects in organisms. Soon after its discovery, ghrelin was shown to promote appetite and adiposity in animal and human models. In response to these anabolic effects, an impressive number of elements have suggested the influence of ghrelin on the regulation of metabolic functions and the development of obesityrelated disorders. However, due to the complexity ofits biochemical nature and the physiological processes it governs, some of the effects of ghrelin are still debated in the literature. Evidence suggests that ghrelin influences glucose homeostasis through the modulation of insulin secretion and insulin receptor signaling. On the other hand, insulin was also shown to influence circulating levels of ghrelin. Here, we review the relationship between ghrelin and insulin and we describe the impact of this interaction on the modulation of glucose homeostasis.

Acellular matrices derived from animal and human cadaveric donor vessels or other tubular matrices are appropriate candidates for the creation of tissue- en-gineered, small-diameter, muscular arteries. Engi-neering principles have been used to design a bio-reactor and the necessary auxiliary systems for the reconstitution of a previously decellularized vascular matrix. The bioreactor enables the attachment of cells to the luminal and/or exterior surfaces of the matrix. For the recellularization procedure, the matrix is situated within a sealed compartment in order to maintain a sterile environment. The matrix is rotated continuously to assure a spatially uniform re-constitution. The auxiliary systems that serve the bioreactor are: (a) an oxygenator, (b) peristaltic pumps, one for conveying the internal cell medium and the other for conveying the external cell medium, (c) motor and gearing to create steady and controlled rotation, (d) reservoirs for the containment of the two media, and (e) tubing to convey the respective fluids and to interconnect the bioreactor culture chamber to the various auxiliary components. A recellularized matrix produced by the bioreactor demonstrated its capabilities to reconstitute a previously decellularized scaffold.
