An authentication and plausibility model for big data analytic under LOS and NLOS conditions in 5G-VANET

The exchange of correct and reliable data among legitimate nodes is one of the most important challenges in vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs). malicious nodes and obstacles, by generating inaccurate information, have a negative impact on the security of 5G-VANET. The big data generated in the vehicular network is also an issue in the security of VANET. To this end, a security model based on authentication and plausibility is proposed to improve the safety of network named ‘AFPm’. In the first layer, an authentication mechanism using edge nodes along with 5G is proposed to deal with the illegitimate nodes who enter the network and broadcast wrong information. In the authentication mechanism, because of the growth of the connected vehicles to the edge nodes that lead to generating big data and hence the inappropriateness of the traditional data structures, cuckoo filter, as a space-efficient probabilistic data structure, is used. In the second layer, a plausibility model by performing fuzzy logic is presented to cope with inaccurate information. The plausibility model is based on detection of inconsistent data involved in the event message. The plausibility model not only tackles with inaccurate, incomplete, and inaccuracy data but also deals with misbehaviour nodes under both line-of-sight(LOS) and non-line-of-sight(NLOS) conditions. All obtained results are validated through well-known evaluation measures such as F-measure and communication overhead. The results presented in this paper demonstrate that the proposed security model possesses a better performance in comparison with the existing studies.

Synthesis of activated carbon from spent tea leaves for aspirin removal

Adsorption capacity of activated carbon prepared from spent tea leaves(STL-AC) for the removal of aspirin from aqueous solution was investigated in this study. Preliminary studies have shown that treatment with phosphoric acid(H_3PO_4) increased removal efficiency of STL-AC. Characterizations on STL-AC revealed excellent textural properties(1200 m^2·g^(-1), 51% mesoporosity), as well as distinctive surface chemistry(1.08 mmol·g^(-1) and 0.54 mmol·g^(-1) for acidic and basic oxygenated groups, pH_(pzc)= 2.02). maximum removal efficiency of aspirin observed was 94.28% after 60 min when the initial concentration was 100 mg·L^(-1), 0.5 g of adsorbent used,pH 3 and at a temperature of 30 ℃. The adsorption data were well fitted to the Freundlich isotherm model and obeyed the pseudo-second order kinetics model. The adsorption of aspirin onto STL-AC was exothermic in nature(ΔH~Θ=^(-1)3.808 k J·mol^(-1)) and had a negative entropy change, ΔS~Θ(-41.444 J·mol^(-1)). A negative Gibbs free energy, ΔG~Θ was obtained indicating feasibility and spontaneity of the adsorption process. The adsorption capacity of AC-STL(178.57 mg·g^(-1)) is considerably high compared to most adsorbents synthesized from various sources, due to the well-defined textural properties coupled with surface chemistry of STL-AC which favors aspirin adsorption. The results demonstrate the potential of STL-AC as aspirin adsorbent.

Adsorption is an important process in wastewater treatment,and conversion of waste materials to adsorbent offers a solution to high material cost related to the use of commercial activated *** study investigated the adsorption behaviour of Reactive Black 5(RB5)and methylene blue(mB)onto activated carbon produced from textile sludge(TSAC).The activated carbon was synthesized through chemical activation of precursor followed with carbonization at 650°C under nitrogen *** of time(0–200 min),pH(2–10),temperature(25–60°C),initial dye concentration(0–200 mg·L^(-1)),and adsorbent dosage(0.01–0.15 g)on dye removal efficiency were *** screening revealed that TSAC synthesized via H_2SO_4activation showed higher adsorption behaviour than TSAC activated by KCl and ZnCl_*** adsorption capacity of TSAC was found to be 11.98 mg·g^(-1)(RB5)and 13.27 mg·g^(-1)(mB),and is dependent on adsorption time and initial dye *** adsorption data for both dyes were well fitted to Freundlich isotherm model which explains the heterogeneous nature of TSAC *** dye adsorption obeyed pseudo-second order kinetic model,thus chemisorption was the controlling *** study reveals potential of textile sludge in removal of dyes from aqueous solution,and further studies are required to establish the applicability of the synthesized adsorbent for the treatment of waste water containing toxic dyes from textile industry.

Hydration Characteristics of Selected Varieties of Paddy Rice from Nigeria

In this study, water absorption characteristics of some rice varieties (Bisalayi, FARO 61, FARO 60, FARO 52 and FARO 44) from Nigeria were studied at 30°C, 45°C, 60°C and 75°C by determining the increase in grain weight as a function of time during soaking. Differences in moisture content among the selected varieties of paddy during soaking were significant (P mperatures considered. Using the experimental moisture data, a non-linear regression procedure was applied to an analytical solution of the Fick’s second law of the diffusion for an infinite cylinder. The predicted values of instantaneous moisture contents were in good agreement with the experiential data with R2 of (0.834 - 0.997). Water absorption rate was found to increase with soaking temperature, while water saturation time decreased with temperature. Average values of diffusion coefficients of moisture during soaking of paddy rice at different temperatures (30°C, 45°C, 60°C and 75°C) were estimated as 6.25 × 10 -11, 6.28 × 10 -11, 7.02 × 10 -11, and 5.51 × 10 -11 and 5.52 × 10 -11 m2/s for Bisalayi, FARO 61, FARO 60, FARO 52 and FARO 44, respectively. The activation energies of the diffusivity through different varieties of rice grains werecalculated using Arrhenius-type equation for diffusion dependence on temperature and were determined as 41.96, 38.69, 40.16, 34.05 and 42.12 kJ/mole for Bisalayi, FARO 61, FARO 60, FARO 52 and FARO 44 for the respectively rice variety above.

Shrinkage and Density Change of De-Boned Chicken Breast during Deep-Fat Frying

The effects of frying oil temperature (FOT) and time on densities and shrinkage in chicken breast meat during deep-fat frying were investigated. De-boned Chicken breast samples were diced and fried at different FOT (170℃, 180℃, and 190℃) in an industrial fryer for periods varying from 5 to 900 s. Bulk and apparent densities were determined with a fluid displacement pycnometer, and fat analysis was conducted using soxhlet extraction with petroleum ether solvent. The physical structure of chicken meat changed significantly with the frying time and FOT (P m3 in the raw product and decreased to 0.98, 0.95, and 0.93 g/cm3 after 900 s of deep-frying at 170℃, 180℃ and 190℃, respectively. Similarly, apparent density changed from 1.13 to 1.25, 1.24 and 1.22 g/cm3 and moisture loss was linearly correlated with both densities. Volumetric shrinkage was significantly (P moisture loss. The rates of shrinkage were 0.013, 0.001, and 0.008/s and occurred rapidly during the first 90s of FOT (170℃, 180℃, and 190℃), respectively and decreased as frying time increased.

The relationship between moisture loss and oil uptake at different combination of Frying Oil Temperatures (FOT) and time during deep-fat frying of chicken meat was investigated in this study. Chicken meat samples were diced and fried at different FOT (170°C, 180°C, and 190°C) in an industrial fryer for periods varying from 5 to 900 s. Fat analysis was accomplished in a soxhlet extraction apparatus with petroleum ether solvent. Prior to fat analysis samples were freeze dried and the moisture analysis was based on the standard AOAC standard method. The results show that a cook value of 415 s was found to give the most ideal sensory characteristics. The relationship between moisture loss and oil uptake during the initial phase of frying (°C and 190°C, respectively, and the rate (1.35 g/s) at FOT 170°C was significantly (P < 0.05) lower.

Hydrodynamic modelling, Thermodynamic and Textural Variations during Common Beans Soaking

Hydrodynamic characteristics and its associated thermodynamic and textural variation of three common malawian beans varieties (Boma, Sugar and mandondo) during soaking were evaluated at four temperature regimes (25°C, 35°C, 45°C and 55°C). The equilibrium water uptake of 127% ± 5% was reached in 10, 6, and 4 hours respectively, for 25°C, 35°C and 45°C. Not much variation was observed between 45°C and 55°C except for sugar beans where equilibrium water uptake was reached within two hours of soaking at 55°C. Three models namely Peleg, two-parameter mitscherlich model and viscoelastic model were used to evaluate the comparative predicting capabilities of the bean hydrodynamic characteristics. All models predicted the water absorption accurately (R2 > 0.903, RmSE activation kinetic parameters to be between 25 - 65 kJ/mol. Sugar beans were found to be the least hard. At room temperature, its hardness reduced by 58% within 2 hours of soaking. At higher temperature (55°C) hardness values were reduced to 12.5%, 11.1% and 15.0% within the first hour for Boma, Sugar and mandondo beans, respectively.
