Transport mechanism in chemically reactive hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic micro-organisms over a curved oscillatory surface

This paper examines the transport analysis, including both heat transfer and mass transfer, in hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic microorganisms towards a curved oscillatory surface. The influence of magnetic fields is also inspected in terms of their physical characteristics. To depict the phenomena of transport, modified versions of both Fick's and Fourier's laws are used. Additionally, the characteristics of both heterogeneous and homogeneous chemical reactions are also incorporated. Utilizing a curvilinear coordinate system, the flow problem is formulated as partial differential equations(PDEs)for momentum, concentration, microorganism field, and energy. An analytical solution to the obtained flow equations is achieved utilizing the homotopy analysis method(HAm).The effects of significant flow parameters on the pressure and microorganism fields, velocity, oscillation velocity, concentration, and temperature distributions are shown via graphs. Furthermore, the variations in skin friction, mass transfer rate, heat transfer rate, and local motile number due to different involved parameters are presented in tables and are analyzed in detail. Graphical results indicate that the curves of velocity and temperature fields are enhanced as the values of the solid volume fraction variables *** is also verified that the concentration rate field decreases as the values of the homogeneous reaction strength parameter and the radius of curvature parameter increase, and it increases with the Schmidt number and the heterogeneous reaction strength *** outcomes show a favorable response of the motile number to advanced values of the Peclet number, the Schmidt number, the microorganism difference parameter, and the bio-convective Lewis number.

Ginseng ameliorates pulmonary toxicity induced by silicon dioxide nanoparticles in rats

Objective:To investigate the protective and therapeutic role of ginseng against silicon dioxide nanoparticles(SiO2NPs)-induced toxicity in the ***:Sixty male rats were divided into five groups(n=12/group);group 1 was used as a control,group 2 received ginseng,group 3 was treated with SiO2NPs,and group 4 was pretreated with ginseng one week before SiO2NPs,while group 5 was given SiO2NPs one week before supplementation with *** were treated with both ginseng and SiO2NPs orally for five ***-time PCR was used to measure gene ***,DNA damage and cell cycle changes were determined by comet assay and flow cytometry,*** study was also done to assess the effect of ginseng on SiO2NPs-induced ***:SiO2NPs increased lipid peroxidation and decreased the activities of antioxidant ***2NPs induced apoptosis in lung tissues as revealed by upregulation of Bax and caspase 3 and downregulation of Bcl-2 as well as the induction of DNA ***2NPs also caused inflammation as indicated by upregulation of the inflammation-related genes[interleukin 1 beta(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB),cyclooxygenase 2(COX2),and transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGFβ1)]as well as cell cycle arrest in the G0/G1 phase of lung ***,histopathological examination proved the biochemical and molecular perturbations that occurred due to SiO2NPs ***,ginseng alleviated SiO2NPs-induced toxicity in rat ***:Ginseng has a potent preventive and therapeutic effect and could be used in the treatment of SiO2NPs-induced pulmonary toxicity.

The Aghajari (Upper Fars) Formation in the Folded Zagros Zone, Iran: Insights to Identify Facies, Architectural Elements, Fluvial Systems, Petrography and Provenance

The Aghajari Formation, called also the Upper Fars, develops throughout the Folded Zagros Zone and its thickness in the type section in southwest of Iran is 2966 meters. To analyze the sedimentary basin of this Formation, lithofacies, architectural elements and petrofacies of the related deposits in a section in southeast of Sarvestan in Fars Province of Iran with a thickness of 2221.45 meters were examined. microscopically studying thin sections, the petrography and the occurrence of the deposits were determined. In this section, 16 lithofacies, 10 architectural elements and 2 sandstone petrofacies were identified. The lithofacies were divided into two major and minor groups, in which the major lithofacies consist of coarse-grained （Gh, Gp, Gt and Gm）, medium-grained （Sh, Sp, St, Sl, Sm, Sr and Ss and fine-grained ones （Fm, Fl and Fsm）, and the minor lithofacies were evaporative and mixed silisiclastic-carbonate. The identified architectural elements are CH, SB, GB, LA, DA, CR, CS, LV, LS, CH （FF） and FF. By combining evidences from facies analysis and architectural elements together, the Aghajari Formation was divided into three parts in which the related sedimentation environments, from top to bottom, are gravel, gravel-sand and fine-grained meandering river respectively. There have also been playas and shoreface in the lower part. Based on petrography, the sandstones of this formation were classified into two groups： litharenite and sublitharenite. The origin of these deposits （sandstones） was appointed to the recycled orogeny and the source of quartz is low and medium to high metamorphic rank. Using the field evidences, the paleocurrent direction was achieved indicating the direction of the paleocurrent from northwest to southeast at the time of deposition. It is hoped that these data can be used in the interpretation of the basin and reconstruction of the paleogeography in the local and regional scales.

The utilization of solar energy is essential to all living things since the beginning of *** addition to being a constant source of energy,solar energy(SE)can also be used to generate heat and *** technology enables to convert the solar energy into electricity by using thermal solar *** energy is perhaps the most easily accessible and plentiful source of sustainable ***-based nanofluid has been considered as a method to improve solar collector performance by absorbing incoming solar energy *** goal of this research is to explore theoretically the Agrawal axisymmetric flow induced by Cu-water nanofluid over a moving permeable disk caused by solar ***,the impacts of maxwell velocity and Smoluchowski temperature slip are incorporated to discuss the fine points of nanofluid flow and characteristics of heat *** primary partial differential equations are transformed to similarity equations by employing similarity variables and then utilizing bvp4c to resolve the set of equations *** current numerical approach can produce double solutions by providing suitable initial *** addition,the results revealed that the impact of solar collector efficiency enhances significantly due to nanoparticle volume *** suction parameter delays the boundary layer ***,stability analysis is performed and is found that the upper solution is stable and physically trustworthy while the lower one is unstable.

Predicting crest settlement in concrete face rockfill dams using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system and gene expression programming intelligent methods

This paper deals with the estimation of crest settlement in a concrete face rockfill dam （CFRD）, utilizing intelligent methods. Following completion of dam construction, considerable movements of the crest and the body of the dam can develop during the first impoundment of the reservoir. Although there is vast experience worldwide in CFRD design and construction, few accurate experimental relationships are available to predict the settlement in CFRD. The goal is to advance the development of intelligent methods to estimate the subsidence of dams at the design stage. Due to dam zonifieation and uncertainties in material properties, these methods appear to be the appropriate choice. In this study, the crest settlement behavior of CFRDs is analyzed based on compiled data of 24 CFRDs constructed during recent years around the world, along with the utilization of gene ex- pression programming （GEP） and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system （ANFIS） methods. In addition, dam height （H）, shape factor （St）, and time （t, time after first operation） are also assessed, being considered major factors in predicting the settlement behavior. From the relationships proposed, the values ofR2 for both equations of GEP （with and without constant） were 0.9603 and 0.9734, and for the three approaches of ANFIS （grid partitioning （GP）, subtractive clustering method （SCm）, and fuzzy c-means clustering （FCm）） were 0.9693, 0.8657, and 0.8848, respectively. The obtained results indicate that the overall behavior evaluated by this approach is consistent with the measured data of other CFRDs.

Control Algorithm Based on Limit Cycle Oscillator-FLL for UPQC-S with Optimized PI Gains

This paper involves a limit cycle oscillator-frequency lock loop(LCO-FLL)based control algorithm for unified power quality controllers-S type(UPQC-S)for compensation of reactive power,to maintain a unity power factor,regulate constant voltage at the PCC,mitigate sag,swell and to eliminate *** this approach,an extraction of fundamental in-phase and quadrature components for the estimation of reference signals are taken from the LCO-FLL *** control LCO-FLL provides a high grade of protection against sag-swell voltages,unbalance loading and harmonics present in the utility *** addition to that,it has advantageous characteristics of synchronization with the grid frequency at any previously mentioned conditions without use of phase locked loops or trigonometric *** advantages of the LCO-FLL are to give useful information to estimate fundamental components from a highly polluted grid *** values obtained from the JAYA optimization algorithm are used to fine-tune the proportional integral(PI)controller gains,so that it maintains DC link voltage to the desired *** mean square error(mSE)is employed as an objective function for optimizing the error between actual and reference *** control algorithm based on LCO-FLL is developed in mATLAB/Simulink software and it is tested for power conditioning features.

Evaluation of molecular and immunological methods for diagnosis of tuberculosis pleurisy

Objective:The inefficiency of conventional laboratory methods for diagnosis of Pleural tuberculosis(TBP) and the reliance on pleural biopsy have motivated the evaluation of alternative diagnostic *** goal was to evaluate different laboratory techniques Ziehl Neelsen,mantoux skin test,determination of interferon gamma in serum and pleural fluid,polymerase chain reaction and serological study of specific IgG,Igm and IgA beside bacteriological culture by BACTEC 460 TB for rapid and accurate diagnosis of tuberculosis pleurisy. methods:Patients presented with pleural effusions were subjected to study by ZN,PCR,serological study By specific IgG,Igm and IgA for A60 of tuberculosis compared to culture by BACTEC460 *** gamma was determined both in serum and pleural ***:mantoux skin test was positive in 19 TBP patients and four patients with exudative pleural effusion.Z.N staining results of pleural biopsy specimens were positive in only 1 of 23 patients(4.3%) in the tuberculous pleural effusion *** was positive in 20 cases of group 1(87%).Serum and pleural fluid interferon had significantly elevated levels(Pmeasurements had significant correlation in TBP(Pm IgA ELISA test was positive in 7/23(30.4%),Igm was positive in 17/23(73.9%) patients and IgG was positive in 16/23(69%) *** of the non TBP had either ZN,PCR or positive serum IgA,IgG,or *** the positive results for IgG and Igm were combined together the serological tests correcdy identified 20/23(87%) of patients. Conclusion:We suggest that in TBP serological diagnosis by combined use of IgG and Igm for A60 antigen with serum determination of interferon gamma can provide rapid and non invasive diagnostic tool that can justify the starting of chemotherapy while awaiting the results of culture.
