Various CTD data obtained in the Om.. Sea are analyzed to explain structural features of intrusive layering. Special attention is com..nsated to therm..aline intrusions observed in layers (depth ranges of 150 m..o 450 m..150 m..o 350 m..100 m..o 350 m..nd 150 m..nd 400 m..n the winter, spring, sum..r and autum.. respectively). The tem..rature and salinity profiles in therm..aline intrusion have sawtooth structure in all stations, while they have step structure in density field. Based on interpretations, detailed estim..es of thickness are about 10 to 20 m..ers. The T-S diagram..show the positions of the outflow intrusion with different thicknesses and depths for all seasons in the Om.. Sea. Vertical profiles of tem..rature and salinity show two boundaries in the upper and lower layers. They are prone to double diffusive convection. Salt fingering and diffusive convection can be seen in both the upper and lower boundaries, and salt fingering is stronger at the lower boundary. Diffusive convection also is visible from..he surface to the m..-depth of the plum..outflow, and the diffusive intrusion is m..e severe at the upper boundary than the surface and deep. The intensity of double diffusion in the bottom..order is greater than the upper boundary. At the deeper parts, the stratification is com..etely stable. Variations of the positions of greatest salinities in different diagram..are due to changing water m..ses for different locations and depths and paths of intrusive flow.

The study was perform.. with seven groundnut varieties/genotypes and F1s derived from..rossing in all possible com..nations without reciprocal am..g the m..tioned varieties/genotypes. The objective was to assess whether low Ca2＋ content and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratio of leaf tissue or stem..issue determ..e salinity tolerance in term..of econom.. yield （kernel yield） in groundnut. It revealed that the varieties, “Binachinabadam..”, “Binachinabadam..” and the F1 G2 × G3 were m..t tolerant based on kernel yield under 8 dS/m..nd 10 dS/m..alinity stresses. These two tolerant varieties and the F1 also showed lower Ca2＋ and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratios in leaf tissue, which indicated lower Ca2＋ and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratio of leaf tissue determ..ed salinity tolerance in term..of kernel yield in Spanish type groundnut. These findings could be applied in future plant breeding applications for screening salt tolerant Spanish type groundnut genotypes.

The investigation was carried out in focusing the genetic variability for different traits of wheat influenced by heat tolerance m..hanism..o find out relationships am..g phenological, physiological and yield contributing traits. Spring wheat cultivar of 25 genotypes were selected and cultivated under late sowing condition at the Regional Wheat Research Institute, Shym..r, Rajshahi, Bangladesh from..ecem..r, 2016 to April, 2017. Significant variability am..g the genotypes exposed for different traits related to heat tolerance. Results showed that the genotypes G24, G10, G01, G13, G16, G25 and G14 ranked as better category considering maximum number of traits in mean performance indicating their tolerance to heat stress under late sowing condition. Phenotypic variances (σg2) of all traits were greater than those of genotypic variances (σg2). The same trends were also found in their co-efficient of variances. The phenotypic co-efficient of variances (PCV) of all traits were greater compare to those of genotypic co-efficient of variances (GCV) and their values were closer to each other. The research work was undertaken to identify the extent of genetic diversity in different param..ers of wheat related to heat tolerance m..hanism..Perform..ces of currently available 25 spring wheat genotypes were studied at the Regional Wheat Research Institute, Shyam..r, Rajshahi during the winter season of 2016/2017. All these genotypes (25) were grouped into five clusters on the basis of non-hierarchical clustering param..ers viz. cluster I (G2, G5, G6, G16, G20), II (G4, G7, G9, G11, G12, G17), III (G10, G24), IV (G1, G13, G19, G21) and V (G3, G8, G14, G15, G18, G22, G23, G25). These groups were arranged into five (5) pairs of clusters viz. cluster I and III;II and III;II and V;III and IV;IV and V considering their sim..ar potentiality of different traits. Results revealed that the m..im.. num..r of genotypes (8) was found in cluster V while cluster III com..ised m..im.. genotypes (2). The inter-cluster distance was higher than intra-cluster distances. The highest and second highest eigenvalues belonged to spike/m..up>2 (25.23%) and spikelets/spike (20.18%) respectively, along with positive canonical values in both the vectors 1 and 2 for these two traits identified them as major traits by exposing their highest potential toward genetic divergence. Cluster III produced the highest spike/m2 (388.8), grain/spike (48.1), plant height (89.5 cm), SPAD (54.2), yield (2799 kg/ha) and biomass (7758.1 Kg/ha) with lowest heading days (64.7 days), maturity days (98.7 days), canopy temperature at vegetative stage (21.7°C) and canopy temperature at grain filling stage (22.4°Cm..y:Verdana;">). New ionization and detection techniques in m..s spectrom..ry have been successfully applied for efficient analyses of com..ex biological system.. It is, however, still difficult to trace structural changes of a specific m..ecular species in such system.. In the present study, a m..ecular probe strategy in com..nation with tandem..lectrospray ionization m..s spectrom..ry has been exam..ed using synthetic deuterium..abeled phosphatidylcholine hydroperoxide (PC-OOH/D3) and ethyl-labeled phosphatidylcholine having docosahexaenoic acid side chain (DHA-PC/Et). Adm..istration of a m..ture of PC-OOH/D3 and DHA-PC/Et to hum.. blood and hum.. skin surface, followed by extraction and analysis with collision-induced tandem..lectrospray ionization m..s spectrom..ry dem..strated that m..abolites of both m..ecular probes can be detected sim..taneously with strict selectivity. The present m..hod is also found to be useful in tracing chem..al changes of the unstable docosahexaenoyl group on the surface of processed fish. The activity of phospholipase A2 can also be assessed using a phospholipid m..ecular probe with a linoleoyl and a deuteriom..hyl group via selective detection of the lyso-phospholipid product by m..s spectrom..ry. Different aspects of m..ropropagation through m..istem..ulture for the production of virus indexed source plants, in vitro tuberization and field evaluation of the in vitro regenerated plants were studied on four commercial cultivars of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) viz., Diamant, Cardinal, Shilbilati and Lalpakri. The investigation was conducted at Rajshahi, Bangladesh from December 2010 to March 2012 to produce virus-free potato plantlets through meristem culture, shoot multiplications with root induction as well as their acclimatization and evaluation of morphological characters and tuber yield under field condition. Shoot tips of 25 - 30 day old field-grown plants of above mentioned four cultivars were used for meristem isolation. After isolation, meristems of these varieties of potato were cultured on “M” shaped filter paper bridge in Murashige and Skoog (MS) liquid medium. The effect of tim..of applied bias on the edge turbulent transport is analyzed by the m..ti-fractal detrend fluctu- ation analysis （m..DFA） m..hod in the IR-Tl tokam... The generalized Hurst exponents and the m..tifractal spectrum..re com..ted by this m..hod. The m..DFA m..hod is applied to the fluctuation of gradient of float- ing potential tim..series collected by a m..tipurpose probe. Tile m..ofractality or m..tifractality of the tim..series can be detected by generalized exponent. The m..tifractal spectrum..escribes the singularity content of the process. The results show that with applying bias to the plasm..at different tim.. （t = 15 m.. 18m..and 22m.., the degree of m..tifractality changes. It reaches the m..im.. when the bias is applied at t = 18 m.. The m..tifractality source of data is investigated by the surrogate m..hod （phase random..ation techniques）. The surrogate m..hod can destroy the different types of correlations in all the sizes of fluctuations. The results show that the long-range correlation contributes m..e to m..tifractality than the fat tail distribution.
