We em..oy ab-initio calculations to analyze the m..hanical, electronic, optical and also therm..lectric properties associated with AGeO3（A = Ca, Sr） com..unds. The full-potential linearized augm..ted plane wave（FP-LAPW） technique in the generalized gradient approxim..ion（GGA-PBEsol） and the lately designed Tran-Blaha-m..ified Becke-Johnson exchange potential are utilized to exam..e the m..hanical and optoelectronic properties respectively. To explore the therm..lectric quality, we use the sem..classical Boltzm..n transport theory. The particular structural stabilities regarding AGeO3（A = Ca, Sr） m..erials are validated sim..y by com..tations from..he elastic constants. The energy band structural fram..ork and the density of states are displayed to indicate indirect bandgap under am..ent conditions. The particular com..ted optical attributes that reveal prospective optoelectronic applications are usually elucidated sim..y by studying ε1（0） and also Eg, which can be connected by m..ns of Penn＇s design. The optical details uncover the actual suitability to power ranging products. Finally, the Boltz Tra P code is executed to analyze the actual therm..lectric properties, which usually presents that the increase of internal tem..ratures can enhance the electric conductivity, therm.. conductivity and also the power factor, whilst Seebeck coefficient decreases. Therefore, the studied m..erials will also be ideal for therm..lectric products to understand helpful option for alternative energy resources.

An adsorption study ofRhodam..e B （RB） dye from..queous solutions was carried out using walnut shells pretreated by different m..hods. In addition to the effects of the pretreatm..t, the effects of various param..ers like pH, adsorbent dose, contact tim.. initial dye concentration and tem..rature on the adsorption of RB was studied. The adsorption process was highly pH dependent and a m..im.. adsorption was achieved at pH 3.0. The best fit for the rates of dye adsorption was a pseudo-second- order kinetic m..el with good correlation coefficients （R2〉 0.99）. Langm..r isotherm..were used to determ..e that the m..im.. loading capacity of the different walnut shells and the RB capacities ranged from...451-2.292 m..~ gl. The dye adsorption was also evaluated therm..yna- m..ally. Positive standard enthalpy （m..） values were obtained indicating that the RB adsorption process is endotherm.. as well as AG~ and AS~ values showed that adsorption process is spontaneous with an increased random..ss at the solid-liquid interface~ Desorption studies were carried out to explore the feasibility of regenerating the used walnut shells and it was found that 97~71%-99.17% of the retained RB was recovered with 0.1 m..＂ L 1 NaOH solution. The walnut shells were also successfully used to rem..e RB from..ndustrial effluents.

Using surface and NCEP reanalysis data along with radar and satellite im..es, diagnosis has been carried out to probe the reasons for the very heavy rainfall that occurred in Islām..257;bad-Rāwalpindi on 23 July 2001. It has been revealed that the sudden evolution of this m..o-scale severe weather system..as the direct result of strong surface convection in m..st and unstable lower layers of the atm..phere. The subsequent rapid developm..t was the com..ned effect of the presence of the m.. latitude westerly’s trough in the north and m..sture feeding through m..soon flow along the Him..ayas and also the direct south-westerly current from..he Arabian Sea. After the westward shifting of the Sub-Tropical High (STH) from..he north of India, the strong divergence zone on its eastern edge contributed positively to the developm..t of upward m..ion. Initially the convective system..m..ed towards the south and then southeastward following the steering current in the m..dle troposphere. Based on these analyses, the physical m..el of the sudden record heavy rainfall has been proposed and a com..rison between the heavy rainfall in this case and one in China has been conducted.

An experim..t was carried out at the experim..tal field of Cotton Research, Training and Seed m..tiplication Farm..Sreepur, Gazipur during the cropping season of 2015-2016 with 100 genotypes to evaluate genetic diversity of cotton genotypes for short duration using field ***: The genotypes under study were grouped into ten clusters through m..tivariate analysis using *** III contained m..im.. num..r of genotypes(16) while cluster X contained the least num..r of genotypes(7).The inter cluster distances were larger than intra cluster distances in all cases suggesting wider genetic diversity am..g the genotypes of different clusters. The m..im.. and m..im.. inter cluster distances were observed between clusters II and V(10.78) and clusters VIII and IX(3.30), respectively. The results indicated diverse and close relationship am..g the genotypes of those clusters. Low soil tem..rature and drought stress conditions at flowering stage affect physiology and pollen traits of rice

Low tem..rature and drought stress are the m..or constraints in rice productivity worldwide. This study investigated the influence of low soil tem..rature and/or drought stress on physiology and pollen traits of two rice genotypes viz., Guinongzhan and Yueza 763 at flowering stage. The experim..t included four treatm..ts, i.e., under the greenhouse natural growth conditions (UC) taken as control, drought stress (DS), the soil water potential was kept at ?0.035 to ?0.045 m.. (DS), low soil tem..rature (LT) m..ntained at 19 to 21℃, com..ned LT and DS (LT+DS, LD). Results showed that LT, DS, and LD substantially reduced net photosynthetic rate (Pn) and the m..im.. photochem..al efficiency of PSII (Fv/Fm.. whilst transpiration rate (Tr) was m..kedly enhanced by under LT in both rice genotypes. The m..ondialdehyde (m..) contents were enhanced under LT, DS, and LD in Guinongzhan, whilst the activities of superoxide dism..ase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), and catalase (CAT) were regulated by LT, DS, and LD in both rice genotypes. Furtherm..e, anther dehiscence rate, pollen num..rs on stigm.. pollen viability and pollen germ..ation rate, and anther starch contents were obviously reduced under LT and DS of both rice genotypes. Stress conditions substantially reduced the yield and yield com..nents, i.e., effective panicles, seed set percentage, grain/panicles, 1000-grain weight, and grain yield of both genotypes and the effects were m..e apparent in Guinongzhan than those in Yueza 763 whilst com..ned LT and DS proved m..e dam..ing than individual stress.

A sensitive spectrofluorim..ric m..hod was developed for determ..ation of ciprofloxacin (CPFX), levofloxacin (LEV), gatifloxacin (GAT) and m..ifloxacin (m..) in pure, com..rcial form..ations, hum.. urine and plasm.. The m..hod is based on charge-transfer (CT) com..ex with chloranilic acid. Fluorescence intensity of the com..exes was m..sured at em..sion wavelength ranging from..45-492 nm..ith excitation wavelengths from..85-330 nm..At optim.. experim..tal conditions, a linear calibration plot was obtained in the concentration range of 20-1000 ng·m..1, 60-320 ng·m..1, 20-800 ng·m..1 and 20 -00 ng·m..1 for CPFX, LEV, m.. and GAT, respectively with good correlation coefficient in the range of 0.9929-1.0 in m..hanolic m..ium..The lim.. of detection and lim.. of quantification were found to be 5 ng·m..1 and 18 ng·m..1 for CPFX, 12 ng·m..1 and 40 ng·m..1 for LEV, 8 ng·m..1 and 19 ng·m..1 for m.., 6 ng·m..1 and 19 ng·m..1 for GAT, respectively. The m..hod was found free of interferences from..xcipients used as additive in pharm..eutical preparations, som..com..n cations and com..unds present in urine and plasm..as well as co-adm..istered analgesic, vitam..s and other drugs. The m..hod was successfully applied for quantification of selected fluoroquinolones in com..rcial form..ations and also in spiked hum.. urine and plasm..sam..es with percent recoveries of 100.0 ± 1.56 and 100.2 ± 1.29 respectively.

Food safety along with nutrition is an im..rtant issue in the present word. Only nutritionally safe food can ensure a healthy balanced diet to consum..s. Dried fish is a popular processed fishery product not only in our country, but also in m..y countries of the world. It is a very good source of dietary protein, lipid and m..erals necessary for a healthy body. The consum..s of dried fish in national and international level are losing their interest to buy dried fish due to poor quality and safety of the products. Therefore, we reviewed the state of knowledge regarding the contam..ation level of dried fish by heavy m..als, harm..l pesticides, am..nt of lipid oxidation, and m..robial quantity and quality from..everal districts in Bangladesh. The data reviewed in this article revealed that several dried fishes contaminated with excess amount of heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cr etc.), pesticide residue (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, heptachlor, endrin, aldrin, dieldrin), higher degree of lipid oxidation, excess amount of total plate count and presence of highly pathogenic E. coli, Salmonella sp.
