Vectored non-covalent interactions—m.inly hydrogen bonding and arom.tic interactions—extensively contribute to(bio)-organic self-assem.ling processes and significantly im.act the physicochem.cal properties of the associated ***,vectored non-covalent interaction-driven assem.ly occursm.inly along one-dim.nsional(1D)or three-dim.nsional(3D)directions,and a two-dim.nsional(2D)orientation,especially that of m.ltilayered,graphene-like assem.ly,has been reported *** this present research,by introducing am.no,hydroxyl,and phenyl m.ieties to the triazine skeleton,supram.lecular layered assem.ly is achieved by vectored non-covalent *** planar hydrogen bonding network results in high stability,with a therm.l sustainability of up to about 330°C and a Young’s m.dulus of up to about 40 *** introducing wrinkles by biased hydrogen bonding or arom.tic interactions to disturb the planar organization,the stability ***,the intertwined arom.tic interactions prom.t a red edge excitation shift effect inside the assem.lies,inducing broad-spectrum.fluorescence covering nearly the entire visible light region(400–650 nm..We show that bionic,superhydrophobic,pillar-like arrays with contact angles of up to about 170°can be engineered by arom.tic interactions using a physical vapor deposition approach,which cannot be realized through hydrogen *** findings show the feasibility of 2D assem.ly with engineerable properties by m.dulating vectored non-covalent interactions.

Broadband pLC （power line com.unication） technology is a m.in factor of the developm.nt of digital convergence in the indoor network. It uses the already existing power cable infrastructure for com.unication purposes. The Em.（electrom.gnetic） field radiating from.the cable could, however, disturb other com.unication system., and thus should be evaluated. The m.m.（m.thod of m.m.nt） and the FEm.（finite elem.nt m.thod） have been studied to estim.te the EVI field em.tted from.the power cable. However, the m.om.is difficult to treat the dielectric m.terial of the cable and the FEm.is tim. consum.ng. This paperpresents a new approach to estim.te the radiated Em.fields caused by pLC sy stem. from.the Cm.current along the cable, based on the transm.ssion line theory. The proposed m.del has the advantage of using the m.asured prim.ry param.ters of the cable. An experim.ntal analysis of the Em.radiation distribution is also presented. A com.arison showed that the m.del results agree quite well with the m.asurem.nts perform.d in this study.

Condensed hyperelem.nts m.thod of non-vertical consistent boundaries for wave propagation analysis in irregular m.dia

The study of wave propagation in finite/infinite m.dia has m.ny applications in geotechnical and structural earthquake engineering and has been a focus of research for the past few decades. This paper presents an analysis of 2D anti- plane problem. （Love waves） and 2D in-plane problem. （Rayleigh waves） in the frequency dom.in in m.dia consisting of a near-field irregular and a far-field regular part. The near field part m.y contain structures and its boundaries with the far-field can be of any shape. In this study, the irregular boundaries of the near-field are treated as consistent boundaries, extending the concept of Lysm.r＇s vertical consistent boundaries. The presented technique is called the Condensed Hyperelem.nts m.thod （chm）. In this m.thod, the irregular boundary is lim.ted to a vertical boundary at each end that is a consistent boundary at the far-field side. Between the two ends, the m.dium.is discretized with hyperelem.nts. Using static condensation, the stiffness m.trix of the far-field is derived for the nodes on the irregular boundary. Exam.les of the application of the chm illustrate its excellent accuracy and efficiency.

Objectives:We aim.to describe the efficacy,safety,and characteristics of the Am.latzer Vascular plug(AVp)II and IV“off-label”use for m.ltiple cardiovascular occlusions in children under 10 ***:Observational retrospective m.lticenter(2007–2020,6 centers)review of paediatric procedures using AVp II or ***:A total of 125 children(49.6%aged≤1 year,147 lesions)underwent 136 successive procedures(success rate:98.5%)using 169 devices(109 AVp IV,60 AVp II).The m.an device diam.ter was 7.7±3.2 m.(4–20 m.).The m.dian AVp size to vessel diam.ter ratio was 1.3(0–2).The m.dian age and weight at im.lantation were 1.0 year(0.01–9.98)and 8.4 kg(1–69).procedures were heterogeneous(55 patent ductus arteriosus(pDA),28 collaterals,18 sequestrations,22 arteriovenous/veinovenous/coronary fistulas,6 vertical veins,6 conduits,5 ventricular septal defects,7 m.scellaneous).Day 1 and 6-m.nth occlusion rates were respectively 94.8%and 98.5%.m.jor adverse events(m.E)occurred in 5.2%of cases(no procedure-related deaths),and m.re frequently in weight≤5 kg(p=0.01),younger patients(p=0.03)during pDA closure(p=0.02)of tubular types(p=0.02)using larger devices(p=0.03)and AVp II(p=0.003).Independent predictor of m.E risk was a higher AVp diam.ter to patient weight ratio(Odds-ratio:2.33,95%confidence interval 1.31–4.13,p=0.004,optim.l cut off:1.45).Conclusions:Both AVps are safe and effective for percutaneous occlusions in children under *** devices represent an alternative“off label”use for well selected paediatric patients.

AIm.To determ.ne the level of consensus on the definition of colorectal anastom.tic leakage(CAL) am.ng Dutch and Chinese colorectal *** Dutch and Chinese colorectal surgeons were asked to partake in an online questionnaire. Consensus in the online questionnaire was defined as > 80% agreem.nt between respondents on various statem.nts regarding a general definition of CAL,and regarding clinical and radiological diagnosis of the *** Fifty-nine Dutch and 202 Chinese dedicated colorectal surgeons participated in the online survey. Consensus was found on only one of the proposed elem.nts of a general definition of CAL in both countries: ‘extravasation of contrast m.dium.after rectal enem. on a CT scan'. Another two were found relevant according to Dutch surgeons: ‘necrosis of the anastom.sis found during reoperation',and ‘a radiological collection treated with percutaneous drainage'. No consensus was found for all other proposed elem.nts that m.y be included in a general *** There is no universally accepted definition of CAL in the Netherlands and China. Diagnosis of CAL based on clinical m.nifestations rem.ins a point of discussion in both countries. Dutch surgeons are m.re likely to report ‘subclinical' leaks as CAL,which partly explains the higher reported Dutch CAL rates.

Greenhouse gas （GHG） em.ssions from.the surface soils and surface water receiving anim.l excreta m.y be im.ortant com.onents of the GHG balance of terrestrial ecosystem., but the associated processes are poorly docum.nted in tropical environm.nts, especially in tropical arid and sem.-arid areas. A typical sylvo-pastoral landscape in the sem.-arid zone of Senegal, West Africa, was investigated in this study. The study area （706 km. of m.naged pastoral land） was a circular zone with a radius of 15 km.centered on a borehole used to water livestock. The landscape supports a stocking rate ranging from.0.11 to 0.39 tropical livestock units per hectare depending on the seasonal m.vem.nts of the livestock. Six landscape units were investigated （land in the vicinity of the borehole, natural ponds, natural rangelands, forest plantations, settlem.nts, and enclosed plots）. Carbon dioxide （CO2）, nitrous oxide （N2O） and m.thane （CH4） fluxes were m.asured with static cham.ers set up at 13 sites covering the six landscape units, and the 13 sites are assum.d to be representative of the spatial heterogeneity of the em.ssions. A total of 216 fluxes were m.asured during the one-year study period （m.y 2014 to April 2015）. At the landscape level, soils and surface water em.tted an average 19.8 t C-CO2 eq/（hm..a）（CO2： 82%, N2O： 15%, and CH4： 3%）, but detailed results revealed notable spatial heterogeneity of GHG em.ssions. CO2 fluxes ranged from.1148.2 （±91.6） m./（m..d） in rangelands to 97,980.2 （±4,861.7） m./（m..d） in surface water in the vicinity of the borehole. N2O fluxes ranged from.0.6 （±0.1） m./（m..d） in forest plantations to 22.6 （±10.8） m./（m..d） in the vicinity of the borehole. CH4 fluxes ranged from.-3.2 （±0.3） m./（m..d） in forest plantations to 8788.5 （±2295.9） m./（m..d） from.surface water in the vicinity of the borehole. A com.osite-hydroxide m.diated m.thod was em.loyed to synthesize barium.m.nganite ***,surface sm.othness and uniform.ty of these nanorods were optim.zed by varying reaction tem.erature and reaction *** rods with an average diam.ter of 200 nm.and length of1–1.5 μm.were obtained at optim.m.conditions of 200 1C/48 *** dielectric study of these rods reveals that they have higher value of dielectric constant at lower frequencies which was attributed to the interfacial and rotational type ***,the increase in dielectric constant with tem.erature was attributed to the therm.l activation of such ***,the analysis of ln(J) vs.E1/2characteristics in the tem.erature range of 300–400 K shows that possible operative conduction m.chanism.was of poole–Frenkel *** value of βexp was found to be 4.85 tim.s greater than the expected theoretical value of feld lowering coeffcient with an internal feld enhancem.nt factor ofα2 *** high value of βexp m.y be due to som. localized electric felds existing inside the sam.le.

Clinical Outcom. of Children with post Bacillus Calm.tte and guerin Vaccination Com.lications: A Single Center Experience

Background: Bacillus Calm.tte ET guerin (BCG) vaccine, com.ulsory in endem.c areas, rem.ins the only available vaccine for prevention of Tuberculosis (TB) despite its m.dest protective value. Com.lications m.y arise in healthy/ im.unocom.rom.zed hosts. m.thods: Children presenting with BCG vaccine related com.lications in the form.of local/distant com.lications were enrolled from.2007-2010 at Cairo University pediatric hospital. Objectives: assess outcom. of BCG related com.lications in a group of children with post vaccination incidents, identify risk factors for com.lications am.ng vaccinated children and identify cases of underlying prim.ry Im.unodeficiency (pID) am.ng presenting cases. Results: Fifty one eligible patients were included, forty three were proved im.unocom.etent, and eight had underlying prim.ry im.unodeficiency disorders. presentations included localized axillary lym.hadenopathy, cervical sinuses, granulom.tous lesions and dissem.nated form. Faulty injection sites were strongly associated with com.lications (p value patients without underlying pID had larger scar size and younger age at presentations (p values: 0.02, 0.0001 respectively).Resolution of lesions was observed in 97 % (95% CI 97% ± 3%) of cases without underlying pID versus fatal outcom. in all cases with underlying im.une defects. Conclusion: Local BCG related com.lications do not necessarily indicate underlying pID, dissem.nated com.lications are m.re serious and warrant further investigations. If pID is suspected, vaccination should be deferred to avoid its potentially fatal outcom..

Background: Continuous exposure to m.llim.lar (m.) Vitam.n C (AA) in vitro kills cancer cells. For superficial bladder carcinom. (SBC), standard chem.therapy is instillation of Bacillus Calm.tte-guerin. The recurrence rate with this therapy is 91%. But high dosage vitam.ns including AA reduced the recurrence to 41%. Aim. To determ.ne the oral dosage of AA that causes the highest concentration of AA [AA] in the bladder. m.thod: We conducted a clinical trial of 14 people who took various dosages of AA, and analyzed the [AA] in their urine. Results: AA above 2 g twice a day was not absorbed. But that intake produced a bladder [AA] above 1 m. in all participants. Conclusion: Taking 2 g of AA BID will increase [AA] in the bladder to a level likely to kill cancer cells that cause SBC. Taking that dosage 2 consecutive days a week is likely to reduce the recurrence rate of SBC substantially.

New Geological and Hydrogeological Inform.tion on the Eastern Border of the Gondo plain （Burkina Faso）

The Gondo plain lies between m.li and Burkina Faso and it is in interland basin into the West African Craton. Since 2003, this study has been carried out two research projects on the southwest part of the plain, where the piezom.tric levels are very low （50 m.to 100 m.. It has two m.in purposes： find water resources to provide drinking water supply to Ouahigouya town and assess the exploitation possibility of the deep aquifer for rural water supply. Com.ined m.thods were used to reach the objectives of this study--rem.te sensing, geology, geophysics （electrom.gnetism.and resistivity m.thods）, hydrochem.stry and isotope chem.stry. So, the m.thodology allows to specify the geology and the tectonic of the eastern border of the basin, identify and characterize the different aquifers and their relationships. Through the im.lem.ntation of 250 m.deep drilled boreholes, this study reveals that the water level of the lower Cam.rian lim.stones can be under pressure below the continental term.nal deposits. The study highlights paleo-karstic zones in the Gondo plain and shows that water chem.stry and isotope chem.stry can be used to differentiate water sheets and evaluate their recharge.
