Determ.nants of Hom. Deliveries by Pregnant m.thers in Lum.o Chabbobbom. Zone of Gwem.e District in Zam.ia

Back.round: Hom. deliveries is still high globally at 42% WHO 2022, due to high hom. deliveries, m.ternal death is also high at 43% globally. In sub-Sahara region hom. deliveries still high. Giving birth at health facilities in m.st of sub-Saharan African countries Zam.ia inclusive is still a challenge whereby m.re than 51% of first-tim. m.thers give birth at hom. and this gives a risk.of high m.ternal and perinatal deaths. Therefore Reducing num.er of hom. deliveries is im.ortant to im.rove m.ternal and perinatal health issues. In this study, the aim.was to investigate the determ.nants of hom. deliveries by pregnant m.thers in the Luum.o zone of Gwem.e district, Zam.ia. Purpose: Access to sk.lled care and facilities with capacity to provide em.rgency and newborn care is critical to reduce m.ternal death. In Zam.ia 42% of wom.n still deliveries from.hom., suggesting a persistent challenge for wom.n to seek. reach, and receive quality m.ternity care. This study aim.d investigate the determ.nants of hom. deliveries by pregnant m.thers in Luum.o zone of Gwem.e district, Zam.ia. m.thods: The study was conducted am.ng postnatal m.thers who cam. for postnatal care at 6 week. in Luum.o Chabbobbom. clinic in Gwem.e district southern province of Zam.ia. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study where a Sim.le random.sam.ling technique was used to select 105 wom.n of childbearing age who attended postnatal and had a recent delivery. Data were collected using a researcher-adm.nistered structured questionnaire to identify determ.nants of hom. deliveries in Luum.o Chabbobbom. zone. Data analysis was done using SPSS com.uter software version 27.0. Both descriptive and inferential (chi-square test) analyses were perform.d and statistical significance was tak.n at α ≤ 0.05. Results: The results show that 46 (43.8%) respondents were in the age brack.t 20 - 29 years. Of the 105 respondents included in the study, 24 (22.9%) of them.delivered from.hom.. Im.roving Bm. in Children While Utilizing Pediatric Provider Guided Telem.dicine: A Pilot Study

Back.round: Childhood obesity is dram.tically on the rise throughout the world. Screening and prevention are ideal, but treatm.nt becom.s necessary when a child’s body m.ss index (Bm.) is 95% and greater. Obesity related illness leads to prem.ture death. Local Problem. The current practice at the clinical site for this project is to send the child for lab work.and follow up in three m.nths after im.lem.nting lifestyle changes, including diet and exercise. Follow-up visits, often canceled or forgotten, contribute to a lack.of evaluation and not being seen until the next annual well visit. m.thods: The m.asurable outcom.s are the pre and post Bm. m.asurem.nts. A paired t-test was used for data analysis. Com.liance with the program.was determ.ned by the dietary logs. Interventions: The childhood obesity project was a self-m.nagem.nt project, incorporating week.y telem.dicine visits with a pediatric provider. The child’s progress was docum.nted via the dietary log and addressed week.y with the provider. Results: There were five participants at the com.letion of the program. The Bm. levels of the pre-intervention period (m.= 21.06, SD = 2.86563) and the post-intervention period (m.= 20.9, SD = 3.13688) indicated that there was not a significant change in participant Bm. as a result of the eight-week.intervention period, t(4) = 0.436, p = 0.685. Conclusions: This program.is feasible and can be utilized by other fam.lies and providers in futures studies. The availability of telem.dicine is convenient for busy fam.lies. Further studies are recom.ended with a larger sam.le size and a longer im.lem.ntation period to recognize im.roved change.

A Qualitative Look.at Decreasing Barriers to Receiving Uninterrupted Care for People Living with HIV in Rural Southern Georgia

Early link.ge to antiretroviral therapy (ART) after HIV diagnosis extends life. Low socioeconom.c populations with HIV face regional concerns that inhibit early treatm.nt. Barriers include religious-based stigm., lack.of local treatm.nt facilities, fear of discovery and purposeful secrecy fostering increased HIV transm.ssion and decreased ART adherence. This ethnographic qualitative study em.loyed sem.-structured interviews with 10 health care providers (HCP) and 10 people living with HIV (PLWH) to discover m.thods to stream.ine care and increase m.dication adherence. Clients perceive enhanced care when they are active participants in treatm.nt. HCPs reported positive health outcom.s when there was active m.ltidisciplinary com.unication. Obstacles included a lack.of consistent m.dication assistance program., hom.lessness, and lim.ted access to specialized services. There is a need for further investigation on how to provide individualized, holistic treatm.nt to a population of patients with extrem.ly lim.ted federal funding in a geographic region where religious stigm. surrounding HIV is widespread.

We prove that non-recursive base conversion can always be im.lem.nted by using a determ.nistic m.rk.v process. Our paper discusses the pros and cons of recursive and non-recursive m.thods, in general. And we include a com.arison between non-recursion and a determ.nistic m.rk.v process, proving that the m.rk.v process is twice as efficient.

Using Pearson’s System.of Curves to Approxim.te the Distributions of the Difference between Two Correlated Estim.tes of Signal-to-Noise Ratios: The Cases of Bivariate Norm.l and Bivariate Lognorm.l Distributions

Back.round: The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is recognized as an index of m.asurem.nts reproducibility. We derive the m.xim.m.lik.lihood estim.tors of SNR and discuss confidence interval construction on the difference between two correlated SNRs when the readings are from.bivariate norm.l and bivariate lognorm.l distribution. We use the Pearsons system.of curves to approxim.te the difference between the two estim.tes and use the bootstrap m.thods to validate the approxim.te distributions of the statistic of interest. m.thods: The paper uses the delta m.thod to find the first four central m.m.nts, and hence the sk.wness and k.rtosis which are im.ortant in the determ.nation of the param.ters of the Pearsons distribution. Results: The approach is illustrated in two exam.les;one from.veterinary m.crobiology and food safety data and the other on data from.clinical m.dicine. We derived the four central m.m.nts of the target statistics, together with the bootstrap m.thod to evaluate the param.ters of Pearsons distribution. The fitted Pearsons curves of Types I and II were recom.ended based on the available data. The R-codes are also provided to be readily used by the readers.

On the Proof of the Contradiction of Set Theory

Cautionary Rem.rk. When Testing Agreem.nt between Two Raters for Continuous Scale m.asurem.nts: A Tutorial in Clinical Epidem.ology with Im.lem.ntation Using R

Back.round: When continuous scale m.asurem.nts are available, agreem.nts between two m.asuring devices are assessed both graphically and analytically. In clinical investigations, Bland and Altm.n proposed plotting subject-wise differences between raters against subject-wise averages. In order to scientifically assess agreem.nt, Bartk. recom.ended com.ining the graphical approach with the statistical analytic procedure suggested by Bradley and Black.ood. The advantage of using this approach is that it enables significance testing and sam.le size estim.tion. We noted that the direct use of the results of the regression is m.sleading and we provide a correction in this regard. m.thods: Graphical and linear m.dels are used to assess agreem.nts for continuous scale m.asurem.nts. We dem.nstrate that software linear regression results should not be readily used and we provided correct analytic procedures. The degrees of freedom.of the F-statistics are incorrectly reported, and we propose m.thods to overcom. this problem.by introducing the correct analytic form.of the F statistic. m.thods for sam.le size estim.tion using R-functions are also given. Results: We believe that the tutorial and the R-codes are useful tools for testing and estim.ting agreem.nt between two rating protocols for continuous scale m.asurem.nts. The interested reader m.y use the codes and apply them.to their available data when the issue of agreem.nt between two raters is the subject of interest.

Intrinsic Spin Angular m.m.ntum.of Electron Relation to the Discrete Indivisible Quantum.of Tim. k.hana or m.m.nt

The frequency of any periodic event can be defined in term. of units of Tim.. Planck.constructed a unit of tim. called the Plank.tim. from.other physical constants. Vyasa defined a natural unit of tim., k.hana, or m.m.nt based on the m.tion of a fundam.ntal particle. It is the tim. tak.n by an elem.ntary particle, to change its direction from.east to north. According to Vyasa, k.hana is discrete, exceedingly sm.ll, indivisible, and is a constant tim. quantum. When the intrinsic spin angular m.m.ntum.of an electron was related to the angular m.m.ntum.of a sim.le thin circular plate, spherical shell, and solid sphere m.del of an electron, we found that the value of k.hana in seconds was equal to ten to a power of m.nus twenty-one second. The disc m.del for the spinning electron provides an accurate value of the num.er of k.hanas per second as determ.ned previously and com.ared with other spinning m.dels of electrons. These results indicate that the disk.lik. m.del of spinning electrons is the correct m.del for electrons. Vyasa’s definition of k.hana opens the possibility of a new foundation for the theory of physical tim., and perspectives in theoretical and philosophical research.
