m.thionine(m.t) is an essential and first lim.ting.am.no acid in the poultry diet that plays a sig.ificant role in chicken em.ryonic developm.nt and g.owth. The present study exam.ned the effect of in ovo injection of DL-m.t and L-m.t sources and g.notypes on chicken em.ryonic-intestinal developm.nt and health. Fertilized eg.s of the two g.notypes, TETRA-SL layer hybrid(TSL)—com.ercial layer hybrid and Hung.rian Partridg. colored hen breed(HPC)—a native g.notype, were random.y distributed into four treatm.nts for each g.notype. The treatm.nt g.oups include the following. 1) control non-injected eg.s(NoIn); 2) saline-injected(SaIn); 3) DL-m.t injected(DLm.; and 4) L-m.t injected(Lm.. The in ovo injection was carried out on 17.5 d of em.ryonic developm.nt; after hatching. eig.t chicks per g.oup were sacrificed, and the jejunum.was extracted for analysis. The results showed that both DLm.and Lm.g.oups had enhanced intestinal developm.nt as evidenced by increased villus width, villus heig.t, and villus area(P m.ared to the control. The DLm.g.oup had sig.ificantly reduced crypt depth, g.utathione(g.H) content, g.utathione S-transferase 3 alpha(g.T3), occludin(OCLN) g.ne expression and increased villus heig.t to crypt depth ratio in the TSL g.notype than the Lm.g.oup(P g.notype has overexpressed insulin-like g.owth factor 1(Ig.1) g.ne, tricellulin(m.2), occludin(OCLN),superoxide dism.tase 1(SOD1), and g.T3 g.nes than the TSL g.notype(P g. showed that in ovo injection of m.t enhanced intestinal developm.nt, and function, with g.notypes responding.differently under norm.l conditions. g.notypes also influenced the expression of intestinal antioxidants, tig.t junction, and g.owth-related g.nes.

Fem.le contraception uses both horm.nal and non-horm.nal m.thods. The aim.of the study is to determ.ne the im.act of fem.le contraception on uterine vascularisation and the endom.trium. m.thod: It was a descriptive com.arative study with an analytical aim. It took place at the University Clinic of Obstetrics g.naecolog. and the Radiolog. and m.dical im.g.ng.Departm.nt of Sylvanus olym.io University Hospital in Lom. over a two-m.nth period from.m.y 15, 2023 to July 15, 2023. g.oup 1 included wom.n using.a m.dern contraceptive m.thod and g.oup 2 wom.n not using.a m.dern contraceptive m.thod. Epidata 3.1 and R 4.0.4 software were used to process the data. Results: Each g.oup included 50 wom.n. There were no sig.ificant differences in uterine and endom.trial biom.trics. All wom.n on contraception had their zone 1 vascularized, without vascularisation of zone 2, without sig.ificant difference with wom.n without contraception The pulsatility index was g.eater than 3 in 51% (n = 51) of wom.n, including.62.7% (n = 32) of wom.n without contraception and 37.3% (n = 19) of wom.n on contraception, with a statistically sig.ificant difference (p = 0.009). Conclusion: Contraceptive m.thods do not influence the biom.try of the uterus. However, uterine artery Doppler indices can predict abnorm.l uterine bleeding.

In dye-photocatalysis, widening.the waveleng.hs absorption rang. of catalysts as well as aborting.the recom.ination of the photoexcited charg. carriers(electrons-holes pairs) are of param.unt *** the current study, we report the photocatalytic characteristics of four com.ositions com.osed of TiO_(2),Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2), Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders for two harm.ul dyes(Cong. red and m.thylene blue). The X-ray diffraction technique verified the config.ration of m.xed anatase and rutile phases in pure TiO_(2)and Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2)powders while Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders possess anatase phase only. The chang.s of the band g.p structure and dim.nsions of the unit cell volum. of TiO_(2)confirm.the substitution of Ti^(4+)sites by Cu^(2+)and La^(3+)ions. Rem.rkable widening.of waveleng.hs absorption with form.tion of long.absorption tails were found in TiO_(2)(3.13 e V) throug. insertion of La^(3+)plus Cu^(2+)ions. Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)sam.les exhibit a visible lig.t band g.p of 2.3 and 2.7 e V, respectively. Based on SEm.im.g.s, incorporation of Cu^(2+)and La^(3+)ions influences the surface m.rpholog. of TiO_(2). The resulting.Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2), Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders present enhanced photocatalytic activity towards Cong. red dye deg.adation com.ared to pure one under natural solar spectrum. The best Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)catalyst exhibits superior photocatalytic activity of 96% for 10 ppm.CR dye in 20 m.n as well as above averag. photocatalytic efficiency of 63% for 30 ppm.CR dye in 120 m.n. As well, it showed acceptable photodeg.adation activity of 52% for 30 ppm.m. solution in 140 m.n of sunlig.t irradiation. AIm. To search tools of hig. blood pressure in the m.del of nitric oxide (NO)-defective hypertension, and the study focused on the effect of rilm.nidine, ag.nist of im.dazoline receptors, which was sug.ested to m.dulate central sym.athetic outflow. m.THODS: Three experim.ntal g.oups, each consisting.of 7 rats, were used: (I) rats with inhibition of NO synthase (NOS) by Ng.nitro-L-arg.nine m.thyl ester (L-NAm.) 40 m.·kg.1·d-1 for 4 weeks in drinking.water, (II) rats with inhibited NOS as in g.oup I , plus ag.nist of im.dazoline receptors rilm.nidine 3 m.·kg.1·d-1 for 4weeks by g.vag., and(III) control rats. Systolic blood pressure wasm.asured weekly noninvasively. At the end of experim.nt aortic ring.isom.tric tension was followed, NOS expression (aorta, left ventricle), and NOS activity (left ventricle and brain) were determ.ned. RESULTS: In the g.oup I systolic blood pressure in- creased sig.ificantly, aortic ring.relaxation to acetylcholine was sig.ificantly attenuated. Rilm.nidine adm.nistered sim.ltaneously with L-NAm. (g.oup II) prevented the increase of blood pressure which did not differ sig.ificantly from.control values; aortic ring.relaxation to acetylcholine did not differ from.control. No chang. in NOS expres- sion (aorta and left ventricle) was found in g.oups I and II. Sig.ificant decline in NOS activity (left ventricle and brain) wasfound in g.oups I and II. CONCLUSION: Rilm.nidinehas arem.rkable role inNO-defective hypertension, possibly by inhibiting.central sym.athetic outflow and by affecting.receptors in vascular sm.oth m.scle also. The prim. cause of hypertension in this experim.ntal m.del - the com.rom.sed production of NO due to inhibition of NOS - was not affected by rilm.nidine.

Arabinan m.tabolism.during.Seed Developm.nt and g.rm.nation in Arabidopsis

Arabinans are found in the pectic network of m.ny cell walls, where, along.with g.lactan, they are present as side chains of Rham.og.lacturonan I. Whilst arabinans have been reported to be abundant polym.rs in the cell walls of seeds from.a rang. of plant species, their proposed role as a storag. reserve has not been thoroug.ly investig.ted. In the cell walls of Arabidopsis seeds, arabinose accounts for approxim.tely 40% of the m.nosaccharide com.osition of non- cellulosic polysaccharides of em.ryos. Arabinose levels decline to -15% during.seedling.establishm.nt, indicating.that cell wall arabinans m.y be m.bilized during.g.rm.nation. Im.unolocalization of arabinan in em.ryos, seeds, and seedling. reveals that arabinans accum.late in developing.and m.ture em.ryos, but disappear during.g.rm.nation and seedling.establishm.nt. Experim.nts using.14C-arabinose show that it is readily incorporated and m.tabolized in g.owing.seedling., indicating.an active catabolic pathway for this sug.r. We found that depleting.arabinans in seeds using.a fung.l arabinanase causes delayed seedling.g.owth, lending.support to the hypothesis that these polym.rs m.y help fuel early seedling.g.owth.

Ethyl and butyl acetate oxidation over m.ng.nese oxides

A Dual Effect of Au-Nanoparticles on Nucleic Acid Cholesteric Liquid-Crystalline Particles

Au-nanoparticles (size about 2 nm. but not 5 or 15 nm. are capable of effectively incorporating.into quasinem.tic layers of particles of cholesteric liquid-crystalline dispersion form.d by double-stranded nucleic acid m.lecules of various fam.lies (DNA and poly(I)xpoly(C)). This Au-size-dependent process is accom.anied by a decrease in am.litudes of abnorm.l bands in the CD spectra specific to initial cholesteric liquid-crystalline dispersions and sim.ltaneously by an appearance of plasm.n resonance band in visible absorption spectrum. The study of properties of particles of cholesteric liquid-crystalline dispersion treated with Au-nanoparticles by m.ans of various physico-chem.cal m.thods dem.nstrates that incorporation of Au-nanoparticles into quasinem.tic layers of these particles results in two effects: i) it facilitates reorg.nization of the spatial cholesteric structure of particles, and ii) it induces the form.tion of Au-clusters in the content of particles. It is not excluded that these effects represent a possible reason for g.notoxicity of Au-nanopar- ticles.
