In this study,an attem.t was m.de to m.nufacture an AZ31–Al5005 lam.nated com.osite by explosive welding.A m.xture of am.onium.nitrate(90%),fuel oil(5%),and TNT(5%)was used as the *** detonation velocity of the explosive m.terial was approxim.tely 3100 m.s^(−1).The m.crostructure and m.chanical and corrosion properties of the joint were com.aratively *** characterisation of the joint was conducted by optical m.croscopy(Om.,scanning electron m.croscopy with energy-dispersive spectroscopy(SEm.EDS),high-resolution transm.ssion electron m.croscopy(HR-TEm.,and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The m.chanical properties were determ.ned using m.cro-Vickers hardness,tensile,and Charpy im.act *** addition,electrochem.cal tests were conducted on the AZ31–Al5005 lam.nated com.osite and the individual com.onents to determ.ne their corrosion *** corrosion behaviours of the structures were determ.ned in a 3.5%NaCl solution at room.tem.erature using potentiodynam.c scanning(PDS).The m.tallurgical structure and m.chanical properties of the joints were within the acceptable lim.ts.

Political Skill of Narcissistic Leaders

A vast num.er of researches and studies have been conducted on narcissism. since the term.was used to explain a psychological phenom.non in 1898. However, the discussions about narcissists as organization m.m.ers or leaders have recently becom. a research topic in the organizational sciences. In this scope, the recent research on narcissism.indicates that narcissistic leaders can either cause organizational tragedies or contribute to organizational success by their great vision. In addition to narcissism. another popular leadership feature is political skill which has attracted considerable attentions in recent years, and becom. one of the im.ortant topics of m.nagem.nt studies. m.reover, political skill has been asserted to be a positive characteristic which is related to develop vision and team.insight as well as to increase in m.m.ers＇ trust and support; whereas narcissism.has both harm.ul and beneficial effects on organizations. In this study, the relationships between the dim.nsions of narcissism.and political skill are exam.ned via the 16-item.Narcissistic Personality Inventory （NPI） and the 18-item.Political Skill Inventory. Analysis has shown that the authority, which is the adaptive dim.nsion of narcissism. correlates positively with social astuteness and networking ability dim.nsions of political skill. Accordingly entitlem.nt, which is one of the m.ladaptive dim.nsions of narcissism. correlates significantly and negatively with the networking ability, interpersonal influence and apparent sincerity dim.nsions of political skill. When political skill is considered as a com.osite score, the findings indicate that the authority dim.nsion of narcissism.has a positive effect whereas, the entitlem.nt dim.nsion has a negative effect on political skill. Besides, im.lications for future studies are discussed

Probiotic bacteria attenuates cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity through m.dulation of oxidative stress, inflam.ation and apoptosis in rats

Objective: To investigate the effects of probiotic bacteria on cisplatin(CP)-induced nephrotoxicity. m.thods: In the present study, 50 Sprague-Dawley rats were used and random.y divided into five groups including control, CP, probiotic bacteria treatm.nt groups with different doses(0.5 and 1 m.) and only probiotic bacteria group. After CP and probiotic adm.nistration on seven days, rats sacrificed under anesthesia on the eighth day. The serum.urea, creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen levels were analyzed. In renal tissue, m.londialdehyde levels, superoxide dism.tase and glutathione activity, interleukin-8, interleukin-1β and tum.r necrosis factor-alpha levels were determ.ned and histopathological and im.unohistochem.cal changes were also exam.ned. Results: According to results, urea, creatinine and blood urea nitrogen levels as well as kidney weights increased in CP group. Also, CP induced inflam.ation, oxidative stress, DNA dam.ge and apoptosis in kidney tissue and caused histopathological changes. Adm.nistration of the high dose of probiotic bacteria could prevent these changes and dam.ges. Conclusions: This study reveals that probiotic bacteria has protective effects on CP-induced renal dam.ge in rats.

Experim.ntal Investigation of Discharge Capacity of Labyrinth Weirs with and without Nappe Breakers

Labyrinth weirs provide higher discharge capacity than conventional weirs, with the ability to pass large flows at com.aratively low heads. Labyrinth weirs are prim.rily used as spillways for dam. where the spillway width is restricted. In recent years, m.ny research investigations have considered the hydraulic perform.nce of labyrinth weirs, particularly as dependent on the geom.tric features. The previous work has im.roved the design basis for such weirs. However, their design still requires experim.ntally derived and generalized perform.nce curves. It is especially im.ortant to observe the behavior of the weir nappe to ensure the design provides hydraulic optim.zation and to account for pressure fluctuations, possible vibrations, resonance effect, noise and flow surging. In the present study, discharge coefficients were experim.ntally determ.ned for both circular labyrinth weirs and sharp crested trapezoidal labyrinth weirs of varying side wall angle (α). Additional studies were com.leted with nappe breakers included to reduce the im.act of vibration on the labyrinth weirs. In general, the test data indicated that nappe breakers placed on the trapezoidal labyrinth weirs and circular labyrinth weirs reduced the discharge coefficient by up to 4% of the un-am.nded weir.

The developm.nt of lead-free solders has em.rged as one of the key issues in the electronics packaging ***-Sn-Ag eutectic alloy has been considered as one of the lead-free solder m.terials that can replace the toxic Pb-Sn eutectic solder without increasing soldering *** investigated the effects of tem.erature gradient and growth rate on the m.chanical,electrical and therm.l properties of the BiSn-Ag ternary eutectic ***-47 wt%Sn-0.68 wt%Ag alloy was directionally solidified upward with different tem.erature gradients（G=2.33-5.66 K/m.） at a constant growth rate（V=13.25 μm.s） and with different growth rates（V=6.55-132.83 μm.s） at a constant tem.erature gradient（G=2.33 K/m.） in the growth *** m.crostructures（λ）,m.crohardness（HV）,tensile stress（σ）,electrical resistivity（ρ）,and therm.l properties（△H,Cp,Tm. were m.asured on directionally solidified *** dependency of the λ,HV,σ,and ρ on G and V was *** to the experim.ntal results,X values decrease with increasing G and V,but HV,λ,and ρ values increase with increasing G and *** of electrical resistivity（ρ） for cast sam.les with the tem.erature in the range of 300-400 K were also m.asured by using a standard dc four-point probe *** enthalpy of fusion（△H） and specific heat（Cp） for the sam. alloy was also determ.ned by m.ans of differential scanning calorim.ter（DSC） from.heating trace during the transform.tion from.eutectic liquid to eutectic solid.

m.chanical properties and m.crostructure of com.osites produced by recycling m.tal chips

In this study, the processing and m.chanical properties of porous m.tal m.trix com.osites(m.Cs) com.osed of spheroidal cast iron chips(GGG40) and bronze chips(CuSn10) and form.d by hot isostatic pressing were investigated. Bronze chips(CuSn10) were used as a m.trix com.onent, and spheroidal cast iron(GGG40) chips were used as a reinforcem.nt com.onent. The m.Cs were produced with different CuSn10 contents(90 wt%, 80 wt%, 70 wt%, and 60 wt%). The hot isostatic pressing process was perform.d under three different pressures and tem.eratures. The produced m.Cs were characterized using density tests, Brinell hardness tests, and com.ression tests. In addition, the consolidation m.chanism.was investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis and scanning electron m.croscopy. The test results were com.ared with those for bulk CuSn10 and bulk GGG40. m.chanical tests results revealed that the m.tallic chips can be recycled by using hot pressing and that the m.chanical properties of the produced m.Cs were sim.lar to those of bulk CuSn10. XRD and m.croscopy studies showed that no interm.tallic com.ounds form.d between the m.tallic chips. The results showed that the CuSn10 and GGG40 chips were consolidated by m.chanical interlocking.
