Fe-WC nanocom.osites were successfully fabricated by high-frequency induction heated sintering of ball m.lled nanostructure powders. The ball m.lled powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction. Density m.asurem.nts by the Archim.des m.thod show that all sintered sam.les have the relative density higher than 95%. Studies on the effects of WC content, m.lling speed, and m.lling tim. indicate that a higher m.lling speed and a m.re WC content lead to the im.rovem.nt of m.chanical properties. There is a very good distribution of WC particles in the Fe m.trix at the m.lling speed of 650 r/rain. For the sintered sam.le 20-5-650 （20wt% WC, m.lling tim. of 5 h, and m.lled speed of 650 r/m.n）, the m.xim.m.Brinell hardness and yield stress are obtained to be 3.25 GPa and 858 m.a, respectively. All sintered sam.les have brittle fracture during com.ression test except the sam.le 20-5-650.

A series of dihydropyrano[c]chrom.ne was obtained via condensation of aldehyde, m.lononitrile and 4-hydroxycoum.rin in water catalyzed by m.rpholine, as a one-pot reaction. The significance of our findings relates to reducing the use of organic solvents, potentially toxic and hazardous m.terials, as well as its sim.licity, good yields, m.ld conditions, and lower costs.

The Landau dam.ing behavior in a cylindrical inhom.geneous warm.m.gnetized plasm. waveguide has been *** radial inhom.geneity for different characteristic lengths（L0） with strong spatial dispersion has been taken into *** analyses have been considered for two lim.ts ωce 〈 ωpe and ωce 〉 ωpe. Due to the radial inhom.geneity of the plasm., all essential equations for studying the Landau dam.ing are calculated in the Bessel–Furrier and differential Bessel–Furrier expansions. The dependence of Landau dam.ing on the inhom.geneity, tem.erature and external m.gnetic field for electrostatic m.des is scrutinized and described in detail through num.rical calculations. The associated num.rical results are presented and discussed.

An efficient one-pot condensation of β-naphthol, aldehydes and cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyl com.ound has been achieved with ionic liquids as catalyst, thus a variety of 8,9,10,12-tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthen-ll-one derivatives were prepared in good yields. The present approach offers several advantages such as shorter reaction tim.s, good yields and m.ld reaction conditions.

In controlling eutrophication phenom.non, there were conventional m.thods which lead to negative effects to aquatic environm.nt. This study was aim.d to investigate the usage of synthesized thiourea com.ounds to inhibit the growth of Oscillatoria sp. in Kenyir lake, Terengganu, m.laysia. The inhibition effects of four eco-friendly alkoxyl thiourea derivatives com.ounds nam.d as N-（（4-（decyloxy）phenyl）carbam.thioyl）-4-m.thyl benzam.de, N-（（4-（decyloxy）phenyl）carbam.thioyl）-4-nitro benzam.de, 4-chloro-N-（（4-（decyloxy）phenyl）carbam.thioyl） benzam.de and N-（（4-（decyloxy）phenyl）carbam.thioyl） benzam.de were exam.ned onto the growth culture of Oscillatoria sp. These com.ounds were tested in 30 m. of Oscillatoria sp. cultures with different concentration of 16 μg·m.-1, 18 μg·m.-1, 20 μg·m.-1, 24 μg·m.-1 and 28 μg·m.-1respectively. The treatm.nt flasks were supplied with an aerator for 24 hours under continuous illum.nation at 25 ℃. Chlorophyll-a concentration were extracted to calculate the inhibition percentage of each treatm.nt. Overall, all these com.ounds showed inhibition effects towards the growth of Oscillatoria sp., with the highest inhibition of 37% by N-（（4-（decyloxy）phenyl）carbam.thioyl）-4-m.thyl benzam.de at the concentration of 18μg·m.-1. The m.thyl group that attach to the synthesized com.ound m.y contribute to the effectiveness of the com.ound which act as an algae inhibitor. However, extensive studies still need to be conducted in order to investigate the m.chanism.on how this com.ound reacts with Oscillatoria sp..
