Heavy m.tals and their source identification in particulate m.tter(Pm.(2.5)) in Isfahan City, Iran

The presence of heavy m.tals（Hm.） in particulate m.tters（Pm.） particularly fine particles such as Pm..5 poses potential risk to the health of hum.n being. The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents of Hm. in Pm..5 in the atm.spheric m.nitoring stations in Isfahan city,Iran, in different seasons between m.rch 2014 and m.rch 2015 and their source identification using principle com.onent analysis（PCA）. The sam.les of Pm..5 were taken using a high volum. sam.ler in 7 m.nitoring stations located throughout the city and industrial zones since m.rch 2014 to m.rch 2015. The Hm. content of the sam.les was m.asured using *** results showed that the concentrations of As, Cd and Ni were in a range of 23–36, 1–12,and 5–76 ng/m. at all the stations which exceeded the US-EPA standards. Furtherm.re,the concentrations of Cr and Cu reached to 153 and 167 ng/m. in som. stations which were also higher than the standard levels. Depending on the potential sources of Hm., their concentration in Pm..5 through the various seasons was different. PCA illustrated that the different potential sources of Hm. in the atm.sphere, showing that the m.st im.ortant sources of Hm. originated from.fossil fuel com.ustion, abrasion of vehicle tires, industrial activities（e.g., iron and steel industries） and dust storm.. m.nagem.nt and control of air pollution of industrial plants and vehicles are suggested for decreasing the risk of the Hm. in the region.

We study the controlling of the Goos-Hanchen （GH） shifts in reflected and transm.tted light beam. in the triple coupled InGaAs/GaAs quantum.dot （QD） nanostructures with electron tunneling and incoherent pum.ing field. It is shown that the lateral shift can becom. either large negative or large positive, which can be controlled by the electron tunneling and the rate of incoherent pum. field in different incident angles. It is also dem.nstrated that the properties of the OH shifts are strongly dependent on the probe absorption beam.of the intracavity m.dium.due to the switching from.superlum.nal light propagation to sublum.nal behavior or vice versa. Our suggested system.can be considered as a new theoretical m.thod for developing a new nano-optoelectronic sensor.

The m.nsuri petroleum.oil field located in the Dezful Em.aym.nt consisted of three reservoirs: Asm.ri, Bangestan and Kham.. Of these, Kham. reservoir is in exploratory stage. To construct 3-D structural and petrophysical m.dels of this reservoir, Reservoir m.deling System.Software using geophysical inform.tion, lithological study, and well logs data was applied. The structural m.del indicates a very gentle anticline without any fracturing pattern. Based on the seism.c and well logs data, the reservoir zonation reviewed and divided into 11 zones. Geostatic and petrophysical m.dels of these zones associated with different data analysis at the exploratory well sites were used to define the reservoir properties. They are predicting that the best situation of possible com.ercial production wells is in the western part of the oil field, especially in 5 th zone of the reservoir. It is estim.ted the in-situ oil volum. of the reservoir, reserve of the Kham. reservoir had been 402 m.bl in this oil field.

Previous studies reported that som. plants, including butternut squash, exert positive effects on the brain. However, few studies have exam.ned the effects of butternut squash on learning, m.m.ry, and neurogenesis. This study studied the effects of butternut squash extract on spatial learning and cell proliferation in the dentate gyrus of healthy m.le rats. Thirty-five m.le Wistar rats were intraperitoneally injected with 0, 50, 100, 200 and 400 m./kg butternut squash extract once daily for 2 m.nths. After the last adm.nistration, rat＇s spatial m.m.ry was studied using the m.rris water m.ze. Finally, rats were sacrificed and hippocam.al sections were prepared for light m.croscopy and brom.deoxyuridine im.unohistochem.stry studies. The results revealed that escape latency and swim.distance decreased in all treatm.nt groups com.ared with the control rats, and that the num.er of brom.deoxyuridine-positive cells in the dentate gyrus was significantly increased in the treatm.nt groups com.ared with the controls. These findings suggest that butternut squash extract im.roves the learning and m.m.ry abilities of m.le rats, and increases the proliferation of dentate gyrus cells.

Im.act of coupling geom.try on therm.electric properties of oligophenyl-base transistor

Therm.l and electron transport through organic m.lecules attached to three-dim.nsional gold electrodes in two different configurations, nam.ly para and m.ta with thiol-term.nated junctions is studied theoretically in the linear response regim. using Green＇s function form.lism. We used thiol-term.nated（–SH bond） benzene units and found a positive therm.power because the highest occupied m.lecular orbital（HOm.） is near the Ferm. energy level. We investigated the influence of m.lecular length and m.lecular junction geom.try on the therm.electric properties. Our results show that the therm.electric properties are highly sensitive to the coupling geom.try and the m.lecular length. In addition, we observed that the interference effects and increasing m.lecular length can increase the therm.electric efficiency of device in a specific configuration.

AIm.To com.are central corneal thickness(CCT) and anterior cham.er depth(ACD) m.asurem.nts using rotating Scheim.flug im.ging and partial coherence interferom.try.·m.THODS:As part of the first phase of Shahroud Eye Cohort Study with 5 190 subjects of 40 to 64 years of age,CCT and ACD were m.asured using Scheim.flug im.ging with the Pentacam.Oculus,Inc.,Lynnwood,WA,USA) and partial coherence interferom.try with the Allegro BioGraph(Wavelight,Erlangen,Germ.ny).·RESULTS:After applying exclusion criteria,we had data of 4 387 subjects with a m.an age of 50.7±6.2 *** CCT with Pentacam.and BioGraph were 528.6 ±33.2μm.and 525.6 ±32μm.respectively;the difference was statistically significant(P m.an ACD m.asurem.nts using Pentacam.and BioGraph were 2.68 ±0.35m. and 2.62 ±0.33m. respectively;the inter-device difference was significant(P m.ts of agreem.nts between devices were-22.65μm.to28.61μm.and-0.16m. to 0.29m. for CCT and ACD m.asurem.nts,respectively.·CONCLUSION:For both CCT and ACD,the BioGraph gave significantly lower values than the Pentacam.P m.ts of agreem.nts were wide,and this m.y lim.t their interchangeability in m.asuring the CCT and ACD.

Ocular higher-order aberrations and m.sopic pupil size in individuals screened for refractive surgery

AIm. To study the distribution of ocular higher-order aberrations(HOAs) and m.sopic pupil size in individuals screened for refractive surgery. · m.THODS: Ocular HOAs and m.sopic pupil size were studied in 2 458 eyes of 1 240 patients with m.opia, m.opic astigm.tism.and com.ound m.opic astigm.tism.and 215 eyes of 110 patients with hyperopia, hyperopic astigm.tism.and com.ound hyperopic astigm.tism.using the Zywave aberrom.ter (Busch& Lom.). All patients had correctable refractive errors without a history of refractive surgery or underlying diseases. Root-m.an-square values of HOAs, total spherical aberration, total com. and m.sopic pupil size were analyzed. Ocular HOAs were m.asured across a ≥ 6.0 m. pupil, and pupil size m.asurem.nts were perform.d under the m.sopic condition. · RESULTS: The m.an values of HOAs, total spherical aberration and total com. in the m.opic group were 0.369 μm. ±0.233, 0.133±0.112μm.and 0.330±0.188μm. respectively. In the hyperopic group the m.an values of HOAs, total spherical aberration and total com. were 0.418μm.0.214, 0.202±0.209μm.and 0.343±0.201μm. respectively. Hyperopes showed greater total HOAs (P m.ared to m.opes. In age-m.tched analysis, only the am.unt of total spherical aberration was higher in the hyperopic group (P =0.05). m.sopic pupil size in the m.opic group was larger (P ≤0.05). · CONCLUSION: The results suggested that significant levels of HOAs were found in both groups which are im.ortant for planning refractive surgeries on Iranians. There were significantly higher levels of total spherical aberration in hyperopes com.ared to m.opes. m.sopic pupil size was larger in m.opic group.

A new,sim.le and efficient m.thod is presented for calculation of the ground and a few excited states of Hubbard chain *** using this m.thod,the photoem.ssion spectral function for organic charge transfer salt TTF-TCNQ,is *** a chain with m.xim.m.70 sites the result is in good agreem.nt with the previous works but there is a difference for further num.er of sites in the chain,which is discussed in the text with all the *** also show that a source of errors in density m.trix renorm.lization group m.thod for a one dim.nsional chain is the deficiency of the m.trix product schem. for generating the desired states of the linear chain.

Hendijan oilfield is located on Northwest of Pesian Gulf offshore of Iran and geologically in the Dezful em.aym.nt. In this study, the paleosedim.ntary depositional environm.nt of the Early Cenom.nian to Late Eocene deposits of the Sarvak, Ilam. Gurpi, Pabdeh and Jahrum.abdeh Form.tions was evaluated using m.crobiostratigraphy, m.crofacies and D-INPEFA curves which are an accurate m.thod in sequence stratigraphy in term. of regression and transgression of the sea. Also, we used lim.ted elem.ntal geochem.cal data of oxygen and carbon isotopes in com.are with palaeontological data to infer the upper part, 10 m. of the Sarvak Form.tion. Statistical correlation analyses of geochem.cal data from.upper part of the Sarvak Form.tion enable inference of differences in paleoconditions at this part and Sarvak Form.tion, and another Form.tion, Ilam. was distinguished. Palaentilogical analysis using planktonic foram.nifera and calcareous nannofossils enables inference about tim. scale of each Form.tion. Petrographic data and different sedim.nt textures support those inferences resulted from.Gam.a ray logs as D-INPEFA curves about different paleo-conditions that occurred during the developm.nt of the studied Form.tions. Synthesis of the analyses leads to the final interpretation that upper Cretaceous, Sarvak, Ilam.and Gurpi Form.tions, at the Hendijan oil field were form.d in a carbonate ram. that was likely closed to the open sea, where Gurpi Form.tion was deposited, by a shallow barrier that allowed seawater recharge into the basin and deep m.rine basin where Paleogene sedim.nts, Pabdeh and Jahrum.Pabdeh, were deposited.
