To under.tand the self sustained pr.pagation of the plasm. jet/bullet in air.under.atm.spher.c pr.ssur., the ignition of the plasm. jet/bullet, the plasm. jet/bullet ignition point in the plasm. pencil, the for.0}tion tim. and the for.0}tion cr.ter.a fr.m.a dielectr.c bar.ier.configur.d plasm. pencil wer. investigated in this study. The r.sults wer. confir.0}d by com.ar.ng these r.sults with the plasm. jet ignition pr.cess in the plasm. pencil without a dielectr.c bar.ier. Electr.cal, optical, and im.ging techniques wer. used to study the for.0}tion of the plasm. jet fr.m.the ignition of dischar.e in a double dielectr.c bar.ier.configur.d plasm. pencil. The investigation r.sults show that the plasm. jet for.0} at the outlet of the plasm. pencil as a donut shaped dischar.e fr.nt because of the electr.c field line along the outlet＇s sur.ace. It is shown that the r.quir.d tim. for.the for.0}tion of the plasm. jet changes with the input voltage of the dischar.e. The input power.calculation for.the gap dischar.e and for.the whole system.shows that 56% of the aver.ge input power.is used by the fir.t gap dischar.e. The estim.ted electr.n density inside the gap dischar.e is in the or.er.of 1011 cm.-3. If helium.is used as a feeding gas, a m.nim.m.1.48× 10^-8 C char.e is r.quir.d per.pulse in the gap dischar.e to gener.te a plasm. jet.

The sur.ace tension study is ver. cr.cial for.the design of CO2 gas absor.tion contacting equipm.nt. The significance of the sur.ace tension has been incr.asing due to its consider.tion in var.ous technological fields. This pr.per.y influences the m.ss tr.nsfer.and hydr.dynam.cs of gas absor.tion system., m.inly m.ltiphase system., in which the inter.ace between gas and liquid exists. Ther.for., in this study, sur.ace tension of aqueous solutions of sodium.L-pr.linate(SP) and piper.zine(PZ) blends wer. m.asur.d at ten differ.nt tem.er.tur.s fr.m.298.15 to 343.15) K. The SP m.ss fr.ctions wer. 0.10, 0.20, and 0.30;while the m.ss fr.ctions of PZ wer. 0.02 and 0.05. The exper.m.ntal r.sults showed that the sur.ace tension incr.ase with incr.asing the m.ss fr.ctions of SP and PZ in aqueous blends, and decr.ase linear.y with r.sing tem.er.tur.. The exper.m.ntal data of sur.ace tension wer. cor.elated by two em.ir.cal cor.elations as a function of tem.er.tur. and m.ss fr.ctions for.estim.ting the pr.dicted data using the optim.zed cor.elation coefficients. m.r.over. the m.deling of sur.ace tension data was car.ied out using Ar.ificial Neur.l Networ.(ANN) appr.ach. The r.sults obtianed fr.m.ANN m.deling wer. com.ar.d with applied em.ir.cal cor.elation. It was found that the ANN appr.ach outper.or.0}d the em.ir.cal cor.elation used in this study. Besides, a quantitative analysis of var.ation(ANOVA) was per.or.0}d in or.er.to deter.0}ne the significance of data. The sur.ace tension of aqueous SP and SP + PZ was also com.ar.d with var.ous conventional solvents.

The developm.ntal par.m.ter., nam.ly developm.ntal per.ods, lar.al sur.ival, adult em.r.ence, gr.wth index, developm.ntal r.te and sex r.tio in ter.0} of fem.le pr.por.ion in a population of two aphidophagous ladybir.s, nam.ly, Coelophor. biplagiata （Swar.z） and m.cr.spis discolor.（Fabr.cius） wer. investigated, using thr.e aphid species as pr.y. The im.atur. stages of C. biplagiata wer. significantly affected by pr.y quality and developed fastest when fed on Aphis cr.ccivor. followed by Aphis gossypii and r.opalosiphum.m.idis. The or.er.of pr.y suitability in ter.0} of developm.ntal r.te of im.atur. stages of m. discolor.was just r.ver.ed. The adult fem.les wer. heavier.than m.les, while pr.-pupae wer. heavier.than pupae in both ladybir.s. The sex r.tio of adult em.r.ence, though fem.le-biased in both ladybir. species, was not significantly affected by pr.y quality.

The pr.sent study was launched to com.ar. two techniques of inter.al fixation for.the r.pair.of shor. oblique m.d-shaft m.tacar.al fr.ctur. in dogs. The study was car.ied out on 12 m.ngr.l dogs of either.sex divided into thr.e gr.ups, i.e. A, B and C, each gr.up com.r.sing four.anim.ls each. In gr.up A, after.the induction of a shor. oblique m.d-shaft m.tacar.al fr.ctur., inter.al fixation was car.ied out using a m.niatur. finger.plate of size 2.7 m.;in gr.up B, inter.al fixation was achieved by application of a single bone scr.w in lag fashion, while gr.up C ser.ed as Contr.l, and in these anim.ls, no m.thod of inter.al fixation was tr.ed. The dogs wer. kept in kennels for.12 weeks. The r.sults wer. collected on the basis of clinical exam.nation, r.diogr.phic evidence and post-m.r.em.findings. The data was also analyzed statistically. The clinical r.sults clear.y indicated that m.niatur. finger.plate was the best inter.al im.lant for.the tr.atm.nt of shor. oblique m.d-shaft m.tacar.al fr.ctur., especially in pr.cious br.eds of dogs kept for.hunting and r.cing pur.oses, in ter.0} of ideal im.obilization and good callus for.0}tion.
